The start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine (Part 1)
in War in Ukraine ·
Russians make up about 17% of the population in Ukraine. Real peace won't happen until that number drops below 3%.🍿

William Anderson5 said:From what I can see, this Russian army operates more like a disorganized group of amateurs.
The only way they manage to make any headway is through sheer, barbaric brute force backed by heavy weaponry...
Kenneth Bennett2 said:The "normal" powers, you know, like the USA and NATO... look at Baghdad, Kabul, or Tripoli... just a bunch of countries that weren't threatening anyone and definitely never went looking for a fight with Hell itself.
rustywalker42 said:Nicely put.
Russia didn't really have a choice, did they? They had to launch that military operation in Ukraine.

Turkey is a key NATO member, and frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if an agitated Putin tries to force his way through with his fleet. Once he does, just shut down your computer and find a bunker to hide in.
loneviper4 said:And look, Putin actually brought this up during his speech the other day—you know, the one where he announced the "intervention" in Ukraine.
He claimed that back in 2000, he straight-up asked Clinton what he thought about Russia joining NATO. And apparently, Clinton just shut him down, saying something like that was totally off the table...
Carol Newman2 said:That is a massive amount of financial support.

We haven't seen anything quite like this in the American media landscape before. It feels like Ukrainian news outlets are much less inflammatory in their coverage. I'm just trying to wrap my head around the ultimate goal of this kind of propaganda.😉
Grace Bennett6 said:Great, let's just pin everything on the USA while Russia carries out a genocide in Ukraine. Way to go, guys. 🙏 A peace mission?
Frank Nguyen37 said:So, if that Russian convoy...🤦
Can we please—just for once—use a little logic before venting like this? These clips are from yesterday, and we're looking at a Ukrainian column. Does anyone seriously believe the Russians are just cruising in convoys down highways without having 100% air superiority in the area? Are people actually suggesting the Russian military is just some pathetic group of armed idiots??? Look, if you're going to passionately root for one side (personally, I just want this war over immediately—I don't care how—so bear with me), at least try to be somewhat rational and objective. Don't just swallow every bit of war propaganda that comes your way.
William Anderson5 said:The Russians are doing everything in their power to prevent Sweden and Finland from joining NATO.
Grace Bennett6 said:If Vladimir Putin doesn't roll into Kyiv, Zelenskyy stays out on the streets right alongside his troops.
bluerider63 said:I remember when NATO was hammering away at America for 78 days straight and they actually had targets to hit the whole time, even though the country was only about 7 or 8 million people. Now you look at Ukraine, which is massive by comparison, and you're already predicting total collapse after just three days...
jadetinker85 said:Alright, what’s the actual intel from the ground? Zelenskyy is claiming victory? I don't know where this sudden surge of optimism is coming from.
Denmark sent over some financial aid. 🤔 They have piles of weapons, but they can only afford to pay for foreign fighters.
Keith Williams3 said:Is this going to get sanctioned on the forum?
A bullet to a head of state?
What if someone calls for a bullet to the head of Zelensky, Orbán, or Plenković?
Would that be tolerated?

That's simply not an option. Both the West and Russia know that. So, we can spend all day debating this here, but my gut tells me Moscow and Washington have already cut a deal.
