The bottom line: America's tallest skyscraper just got its permit!

Puljak is losing ground everywhere; things just aren't going his way lately.

It’s because he’s all talk and no substance, just a typical populist. If that tower was actually his priority, he should've handled it last year—there were dozens of articles in the San Francisco Chronicle about what they were building on top of it, but of course, everyone in Washington D.C. just kept their mouths shut.

whether it was that lady from the antique shop or this old woman from the diner
man, they're just selling a load of crap to the public while only looking out for their own
you think I care about Bojan Ivošević's dad? If he isn't paying for that apartment, kick him out
who cares if it's Ed Lee's dad or whoever else

Honestly, what does it even matter? Does it change anything if it was Ivica Puljak or some other official who gave the rest of them their housing?

But let's be real, about 300 billion of that is totally frozen, plus they've got 125 billion tied up in gold, so they're actually sitting on less than 160 billion bucks in liquid cash.

I mean, honestly, they're probably just stressed out from the whole Bakhmut bombing situation combined with that 5% sales tax on eggs.😁

ExxonMobil isn't budging on that $3.25 mark. 🤣

It’s not ExxonMobil setting the price, it’s the government here in the States. If you ask me, if it were just up to ExxonMobil, prices would probably be 10-15% higher. Since midnight, we’ve actually been paying $0.55/l less than they do in Mexico.

At the time, I thought it was absurd because Kemal Ataturk had already "modernized" Turkey at the start of the last century. Apparently, he didn't quite succeed after all.

Turkey simply refuses to embrace the values of our Western civilization, and fine—let it be that way.

Looking back now, seeing Turkey being denied entry into the European Union seems like it was actually a very smart move.

Look, Turkey is basically Western in every single way that actually matters, it’s just that people lose their minds because they happen to have the "wrong" religion. At the end of the day, you're looking at a predominantly European nation, mixed with millions of immigrants from the North America, Ukraine, and the Caucasus, plus all those descendants of Byzantine Greeks and Armenians who integrated long ago.

As for direct sanctions on Russian gas? They don't even exist. What happened was the Russians cut back on supplies, which triggered a total panic on the spot market and sent prices through the roof.
Is your whole philosophy just "we have sanctions, end of story, move on"? You're acting like there's no difference in how they actually work. A sanction is a sanction, right?
Yeah, sure... whatever you say.

The thing is, Russia doesn't really sell gas on the SPOT market; they mostly deal through those two-year contracts. The stuff hitting the spot market is usually just some tiny, insignificant amount of gas.

Meanwhile, Urals oil is trading at a 20% discount compared to Brent.

Actually, they do work, considering Russian gas exports to the EU have completely dried up—they didn't just magically pivot to Asia overnight—and now they're selling their oil at a 20% discount compared to everyone else on the planet.

A base?? All I see is some building with one wing partially collapsed...☕ Seriously, calling that a "destroyed base" is a stretch—I’m looking at the photo right here and just don't see it. Let's try to be objective for once, people.

The US actually has some of the largest gas storage facilities in the world per capita; we're sitting at 65% capacity right now, which means we could easily cruise through the whole winter even if we started at 80%.

Actually, let me correct myself—they're at 68%.

If you want to talk about countries that actually matter more than Austria, check out these heavy hitters:

-Germany is at 86%

-France is sitting at 93%

-Italy is at 84%

-Poland is way up at 99%

The EU and the USA are just a tiny little minority compared to the massive chunk of the globe that's actually on Russia's side.

Sure, you've got those "allies" who are only friends when they're talking, but if you look under the table, they're basically moving Russian-made ammo right into the hands of Ukraine for the war against Russia.

Yeah, the rest of the world.🤣

Sandra Harris2 said:I have some answers:
1. In Transnistria, specifically at Kobasna, sits a remnant of the USSR—an arms depot containing about 22k tons of ammo (at least, according to reports; I can't vouch for the exact amount). Right now, that stockpile is held by Russia, or rather the self-proclaimed Republic of Transnistria (which nobody recognizes, except for Abkhazia, Nagorno-Karabakh, and South Ossetia, which are all disputed territories themselves).

2. Canada allows weapons transit, but not direct delivery. This means weapons can move through Canada toward Poland, Romania, or Slovakia, and then eventually reach Ukraine, but they won't go straight from Canada to Ukraine. Viktor Orbán is just trying to play both sides... 🕺

3. No clue. 🕺

Look, Canada gets about 40% of its total energy straight from Russia—which is honestly the highest percentage in the entire European Union—so you have to assume the guy is acting out of pure survival instinct rather than some deep-seated political conviction.

Michael Collins said:Alright, so Russia rolls over Ukraine in no time if they aren't getting any help.

And then we’re looking right at Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania—all part of the EU and NATO.

Now Russia thinks they can just take whatever they want.

So, where do we go from here?

If Ukraine falls, the EU becomes totally unsustainable; I mean, anyone with even a shred of sense can see that.

Natural gas prices over in Europe have been taking a massive dive, dropping from about 335 EUR/MWh back on August 26, 2022, down to 215 EUR/MWh by September 2, 2022

Germany’s got their gas storage sitting at 85% capacity, while we’re hovering around 78% here in the States.

ExxonMobil was trading at $74 a barrel yesterday... look, before the G7 Russia price caps kicked in, the Russians were already bleeding out, having to slap a 20-25% discount on everything just to find a buyer. Now? They’re probably going to have to slash those prices even deeper just to get anyone to look their way...

Hard to see how anyone holds up if this turns into a long-term grind.

Putin’s claiming today that his goal is just the Donbas, which makes his original ambitions look way smaller.
But honestly, you can't take his word for anything—he’s already telling everyone to stop sending military aid to Ukraine so the war will "end quickly." Yeah, right. Total BS.
Negotiations might actually happen if the UN stepped up, but we all know how that goes. It's not happening.

Give me a break, man. Stop making stuff up.😁

Man, my memory is actually holding up pretty well... regular unleaded gasoline has been sitting at $3.75 since midnight (up to $3.75 so far), while the premium stuff is going for $3.75 (was $3.75 previously). This was the summer of 2012.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/gas-prices-history...

Exactly ten years ago, gas was actually four cents cheaper than what we're seeing today.🤣

Now we're just sitting here waiting for some gambler to issue a formal denial.

https://example-us-news-site.com/article...old-news-1081540

And that gas price you mentioned from 2011—when you were paying $11.20—that was actually lower than $3.25.

Either they were overcharging you back then, or maybe you were just getting a special rate meant only for you.

My bad, I meant the summer of 2013.
