People who have kids aren't exactly under house arrest for eighteen years straight, and besides, what's the difference between doing things at 25 versus 40? While I guess there's definitely a difference in reverse—adventures in your 40s will surely be better than they could have been at 25. Sure, I might have been in better shape back then, but intelligence, maturity, wit, money, sex... everything else just keeps getting better as the years go by.😁

Look, it’s not just about partying and hookups, though... In my twenties, I just wasn't in the mood to be whipping up three meals a day, skipping nights out, missing workouts, or canceling trips just because of some fever or a nasty flu. Plus, there's the whole weekend thing—watching cartoons, dealing with PTA meetings, helping with homework, and all that other stuff that comes with being a parent... Back then, my focus was totally on me—just exploring and actually enjoying the adult world. 😁
But hey, we're all different, right? To each their own!
Walter Davis said:I know plenty of folks who became parents in their late 30s or even early 40s, and honestly, I don't see them struggling or regretting not jumping in sooner. I mean, it’s mostly people who don't exactly view hitting 40 as being ancient.

Look, I had my baby at 34 because, let’s be real, I just wasn't ready before then! Personally, I think deciding to become a parent is one of those massive, life-altering calls—you know, once you're a mom, you're a mom for life... there's no such thing as "returning" a kid if they aren't your vibe! Some people are ready to jump in early, others wait until later. And honestly? I don't feel like I'm missing out by being an older parent at all—if anything, it keeps me on my toes! I have to stay current with all the new trends and keep learning constantly... it’s basically like a fountain of youth 😁
Honestly, there’s no such thing as a "perfect" age to get hitched—as long as you've found that one person you actually want to spend your life with, that's all that matters.
I mean, sure, people can have plenty of good reasons or some pretty terrible ones for jumping into a marriage, but that's on them.
For me, once everything just clicked—the right person, the right timing, the whole feeling was just *there*—I went for it. I’m way past that stage where I care about what some legal document says; at this point, it’s all about the choices we make every single day.

I am such a huge hugger—seriously, I can't get enough! I’m constantly hugging my family and my closest girlfriends. When I actually have someone to squeeze, my absolute favorite one out of the bunch is definitely number three. I call that hug with my son my "personal battery recharge." Honestly, I’m pretty sure he’s going to grow up to be just as much of a hugger as I am!
Sending a massive virtual hug to everyone out there in the US!

Topic of the day > Is romance dead? in Lonely Hearts ·
Look, romance isn't dead—it’s just that everyone’s got their own weird way of looking at it! Some people treat it like a PR stunt, others think it’s all about dropping cash on flashy, over-the-top stuff, but honestly? I’m all about those tiny, quiet little proofs of love. All that grandstanding and public displays of affection... man, that just makes me cringe. Give me the real stuff any day! Like, snuggling under a cozy blanket while watching a movie we both actually love—and yeah, warming up my cold feet against his—that’s the good stuff. Or waking up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee, or coming home from a long shift at work to find a hot meal waiting for you. Even just whispering something spicy in his ear or giving him a huge hug when he’s having a rough day... that counts! Or grabbing a random little thing at Target because it totally reminded me of him? That’s it right there. It’s about putting in the effort to see the person you actually chose every single day instead of just taking them for granted. To me, that’s what true romance is—it’s basically just investing in a healthy relationship.
