I honestly don't get it... why hasn't Israel stepped up to help Ukraine with weapons? Or why aren't they doing more right now? It just doesn't make sense to me.

I used to mess around with PhotoRec quite a bit back in the day. It’s open-source, works on Linux and Windows and stuff, but man, it’s a little clunky because there isn't really a proper interface. You basically just have to follow whatever instructions pop up in the command prompt.

The absolute most important thing here is to stop using that drive immediately. If you've got Windows running on it, honestly, just pull the plug from the wall so the OS doesn't try to write any background files while it's shutting down.
Either yank the drive out of the machine entirely or hook up a different drive with its own operating system—like booting from a thumb drive—so you can run the app from there. The whole point is to make sure that specific drive stays untouched.

When you delete something, you've gotta realize that the attributes, the folders, and even the filenames are gone for good. The software is basically scanning bit by bit and sorting things by file type. Because of that, you absolutely cannot save the recovered files onto the same drive you're scanning; you need a separate destination.
It’ll save them in a weird format—I don't remember exactly since it's been a while, but I think it’s something like vol1.mp3, vol2.mp3, vol3.mp3, and so on. You'll end up having to rename everything manually to get back to what they were originally called.

See, when you hit delete, the files aren't actually wiped out instantly. They just get marked as "available space." But the metadata—the names, the folder structures, those file attributes—that's permanently gone because that info lived in the partition table, like FAT32 or NTFS. The actual data is still sitting there in the background until some other file comes along and overwrites it.

- I used to have a laptop and I know they run way better if you clean out the inside. Dust builds up in there, you know? You can grab some compressed air and if you need to, pop off the cover or the keyboard—whatever is easiest—and just blow it out. Honestly, you should probably do that once a year. My old one used to blow hot air out of the vents when I was doing anything heavy, but once I blew the dust out, it started blowing cool air again and ran much smoother without all that lagging.
And honestly, a laptop isn't really meant for heavy-duty tasks like that. You're better off getting a desktop and saving the laptop for stuff where you actually need to be mobile, you know? If you constantly push a laptop that hard, it's gonna die on you sooner rather than later, and repairing a laptop usually costs more than just buying a new one anyway. Desktops have better airflow and they're just way easier to maintain.

Even back home in the States, you can buy Vitamin D just like any other supplement. There’s nothing wrong with it if you're smart about how you take it—it's not like some random person on the internet gave you a diagnosis and decided you definitely need it.

If you take too many vitamins, you can easily pee the extra out. Though, it’s a double-edged sword since vitamins A, D, and E are fat-soluble, so excess gets stored in your body, which isn't exactly fun. It's kind of like iron—you wouldn't just tell everyone to start taking iron on their own whim.

There's a huge difference between recommending Vitamin D because lab tests proved you're deficient, and just saying "hey, read this article, this could be great!"

Look, if it’s dead, it’s dead. Period. You aren't getting any data back until that drive is actually functional again. Most likely, the PCB just fried. In those cases, a data recovery outfit—think something like DriveSavers—can usually swap out the board, assuming it's even possible. I've heard lately that with these newer drives, replacing the electronics is becoming an absolute nightmare, if not impossible. If you can get the board swapped, though, the drive should technically act like nothing ever happened. But man, trying to recover stuff that’s been deleted or reformatted? That's the real headache. The files end up totally fragmented and basically unreadable.

Did you have this thing working okay before? Just trying to figure out if the issue is actually your computer or if it's something with the machine itself.

Maybe try plugging it into a different computer—maybe one running Windows 7—just to see if it picks up? If the machine itself is the culprit, you might be wasting your time fighting with drivers.

I remember when I messed up my knee joint; it got all swollen and hot to the touch too. That’s just what happens with a fresh injury.
Whenever I tweak something or take a hit to the arm, I find that ice water actually works way better for me than using those creams like Deep Relief and stuff.
I don't mean you should do it constantly, obviously, but if you apply it every half hour or so, it seems to speed up the healing process.
Back when I was doing physical therapy, they had me icing it every single day using an ice pack after my electrical stim sessions. They weren't just doing that for no reason, either.

The reason he’s looking at Canada is basically to save some cash. Sales tax is pretty high over here, and retailers tend to hike up the prices quite a bit, so it usually makes more sense to just shop across the border.

Anyone got any recommendations for a decent TV tuner card? I'm trying to figure out if it's actually cheaper to order one from overseas or if that's just a headache. My main thing, though, is quality—I really want something reliable that won't lose software support after a few months. Needs to be something that lasts.

Did you actually get the boot settings right for the USB? Like, did you double-check that thing? Or maybe try swapping out the drive or just plugging it into a different port altogether?
