Wage gaps can be bridged in plenty of other ways, provided local authorities actually cooperate by cutting corporate taxes, reducing payroll levies, lowering utility costs, handing out land, or loosening regulations.
The problem is, we don't have any of that, so we're basically out of the running. Still, companies don't look at labor costs in a vacuum.
It isn't impossible that we might eventually see some controlled inflation where workers technically earn the same amount in dollars, but that money won't go nearly as far against the dollar as it used to...

Even though I’m an American, I can’t stand the mentality here... people are just so deeply indoctrinated with socialist ideals. It’s like everyone’s stuck in the 1980s; they just swapped out the word "America" for "America," and traded their old internal enemies for Mexicans and those shady bankers or multinational corporations (which aren't even really a thing in this country).
The reason I can't stand the US? The public sector is bloated beyond belief. It’s this massive, over-bureaucratized mess where every little pencil-pusher thinks citizens exist to serve them, rather than the other way around. Then there are the crushing taxes and one of the most suffocating Labor Laws you'll find in the West. Local government stifles entrepreneurship and foreign investment at every single turn... and don't even get me started on the education system. It’s a disaster. Universities seem to be running on curricula from forty years ago, demanding endless memorization of theory with absolutely zero practical application. And finally, the justice system... it's corrupt, backwards, and painfully slow.
Sure, compared to what America was—where socialism was the official policy—this is technically better. At least here, capitalism is supposed to be the official stance, even if we haven't seen a shred of actual capitalism in practice. But compared to Austria? We aren't even in the same league.
