I was watching some highlights last night and it got me thinking about how much of a gamble it is when a team decides they just *need* a specific superstar to fix their problems.
It’s such a classic move, isn't it? You see a team struggling with a specific gap in the lineup, and suddenly everyone is talking about which powerhouse is going to swoop in and buy their way out of a slump. Personally, I’ve always been a bit skeptical of these massive mid-season shakeups. It feels like a desperate attempt to force a championship window open when the foundation might not even be ready for it.
I remember a few years back when my local team traded away all their young prospects just to land one big-name veteran. It felt great for about a month, but then the talent drought hit, and we spent the next three seasons rebuilding from scratch. It’s a massive "what if" every time a big trade looms.
Do you guys think it's better to build steadily through the draft/development, or is it worth blowing up your future just to win right now?
Hey everyone! I was thinking we should probably start a dedicated thread for this PDF—that way, we can actually walk through the reasoning behind deleted posts. It would be a great way to get a clearer picture of how the forum rules work and ensure we’re all seeing that moderators are applying those rules consistently across the board.
To kick things off, here is my first question:
This is just blatant racism directed at Native Americans, which is exactly why I flagged it and brought it up in the discussion. The moderator, klcclk, is active right there in the thread, yet they wiped my post while leaving the original comment untouched. If anyone had used that kind of language to describe refugees, I have zero doubt they'd be slapped with a ban for hate speech—but apparently, racism against Native Americans is fair game here? Why is that?
lonebadger6 said:Yeah, the stuff that got nuked—and will stay banned—is all that conspiracy nonsense about microchipping people, lizard people, Planet Nibiru, and that whole circus... along with the "portal" that peddles it.
Regarding that link you shared, just so everyone is clear, Nathan Brooks4 linked an article that has absolutely zero connection to what was originally posted in the immigration thread. What Nathan Brooks4 actually sent over was a story about dress codes in some American schools, which has nothing to do with immigrants or anything of the sort; they just prohibit things like short shorts or see-through tops, much like the similar, more or less strictly enforced rules you'd find in schools right here in the States.
The actual post that got scrubbed from the immigration thread was nothing but a total fabrication claiming some "small American town where the principal ordered kids to dress according to Sharia law."
End of story.
Doesn't matter, because nobody touched the CNN link. What got deleted was the link to that one site—which I won't name because I refuse to give them free advertising—that claims to reveal the "hidden truth" everyone is hiding... which I already described above.
So, I think deleting that link wasn't justified since it's a relevant news source.
Like I said.
You're lying again. Here is a quote from the news I linked:
N/A
"Because our school is in the immediate vicinity, restrained clothing should be worn to avoid confrontations" with the mostly young, male asylum-seekers, he wrote.
"See-through tops or blouses, short-shorts or miniskirts could lead to misunderstandings," the letter stated.
It went on to tell students not to stare at the asylum-seekers or take photos of them, and warned that "derogatory or racist statements will not be accepted in any way."
So, it's actually the exact same story that was linked in the original thread, just using a different source. You claimed it was a lie—without providing a single shred of evidence, by the way—and you said the news (which you claim is fake) is only reported by shady websites. That's just not true, because here is a link from a perfectly mainstream outlet.
So, a warning just popped up on the thread regarding immigrants at the US borders:
lonebadger6 said:The post and the link have been removed—please stop reposting this. There’s a very good reason why you won't find this "news" on any reputable outlet: it’s completely fabricated. Even in the fake versions floating around obscure corners of the web (where it was picked up from Meta), there isn't even a mention of specific religious laws—the whole story is totally disconnected from reality. I'm making this warning a bit longer because people are constantly whining about censorship or "suppressing free speech." Look, we only moderate things here if they fall under our guidelines—which, honestly, are much more reasonable than those loudmouths who act like they own the place just because they're old and stubborn. We aren't trying to cause panic or spread hate; we're just calling out pure lies.
So, the moderator is flat-out claiming the news is fake?!? But how—and where—has it actually been proven to be a lie? Not a single word of evidence has been provided. If it turns out to be true, how can someone like that even stay in a moderator position?
Not even close!!! As long as there is no proof that this is actually a lie, this is nothing but censorship! And since no evidence has been presented, what then?
Ghettoization isn't the same thing as multiculturalism. Multiculturalism is about different cultures living together in harmony—basically, coexisting and actually adding value to one another through mutual respect. You just can't achieve true multiculturalism in situations where one culture is actively trying to wipe out another, right?
Here’s an example of some moderation action—I'm looking for a response from the administration and the other policy moderators, not Bradley Sanders4 or lonebadger6. lonebadger6 claims that Catholics ought to follow Catholic doctrine and the Pope without question. Well, I’m just following that same logic! If that's the case, then according to him, Muslims should also follow their own doctrine. Since he's such a big advocate for immigration and bringing them here to the US and the EU, doesn't that mean he wants them practicing their own faith right here among us?
And now my post has been deleted!!! Why is that? Was it because I exposed some hypocrisy? Or was it simply because I stated the plain truth?
How is an Eritrean killing two people at IKEA a reflection of all Eritreans or Muslims, yet an American hitting a homeless person with a rock isn't a reflection of Americans or Christians?
You aren't just trolling, you're being cheap and failing miserably, because equating an entire nation, religion, or group of people—like asylum seekers—with one lunatic is basically a textbook definition of hate speech...
What percentage of a specific group needs to exhibit certain traits before we can actually discuss a connection between that group and those behaviors on this forum? Not every Nazi committed a crime either, so why is generalization toward Nazis allowed? If the answer is that it's part of their "plan," then I’d suggest reading the Quran. This is a crucial question, and we really need a clear answer so the forum rules can be consistently applied.
lonebadger6 said:I wouldn't go so far as to say it's even remotely similar, let alone the same, to claim that people from Mexico are "sneaking in" alongside refugees from Syria—which you see in plenty of news reports—and then suggesting there's "proven amounts of terrorists" among those refugees...
She’s claiming they are smuggling themselves in, which hasn't been proven—and I mentioned that terrorists might be slipping through, which also isn't "proven," even if every intelligence agency is sounding the alarm. It's just not the same thing, right? 😂 Of course it isn't the same when Bradley Sanders4 is the one writing it. Sorry to bother you all—it seems like any kind of debate here is just a lost cause. Best regards!
lonebadger6 said:Well, I’m glad you at least brought up that bit about consensus, especially since others are out here claiming the Government is just "liberal indoctrination"... 🙂
Regarding those banned clones, is that supposed to be a moderation error too? Should we have just let them run wild so nobody would complain? Clones have been against the rules forever on every single subforum. Or are you actually suggesting these people are clones? It’s pretty simple... some people who managed to fly under the radar for a while just decided to get loud on this thread and ended up drawing way too much attention to themselves.
As for the warnings, the fact remains that there are very few of them, and there's absolutely no evidence of anyone's opinions being suppressed. Of course, you're free to disagree with any warning you get. But the point is, we aren't handing them out wildly or without control. You asked Bradley Sanders4 why Maria Booth got a warning, so let her explain it... but the reality is Maria Booth left 81 posts in this thread, and she only got one warning. It’s one thing for her to complain about it—she has every right to express dissatisfaction if she feels it was undeserved—but it’s a completely different story to claim that Maria Booth, or an entire group of like-minded people, is being silenced. You even mentioned yourself how much anti-immigrant sentiment dominates the comments. She put up 80 posts that didn't cross the line for anyone...
Just to add my two cents—regarding the two warnings I received, both of which I appealed—nobody ever responded except for the person who gave them to me (Bradley Sanders4), and that was only once you spoke up about the second one. That should tell you everything you need to know about how the comment system functions around here. And from what I've seen in other threads, things get deleted or closed incredibly fast, usually with the admins just siding with the moderators. If you want to talk about "one-sidedness," just look at how often an admin disagrees with a moderator's decision. To any rational person, that should be enough to show that accusing the site of being one-sided isn't just some baseless nonsense.
lonebadger6 said:Neither I nor anyone else deleted your post about your German relative. You actually made three posts on this thread: I personally deleted one of them and gave you an explanation as to why, you deleted the second one yourself (which was on the exact same topic), and the third one is right here:
I won't go into anything else; you have all the explanations, including the ones regarding Gerald Rivera17.
@Nathan Brooks4 - even though, as I mentioned, there’s a specific thread for "Ban Appeals," I can tell you exactly why you got flagged. It was for this part: "immigrants, in whom, as has already been proven, there are many terrorists." Nothing like that has ever been "proven"... those are just offensive assumptions that basically border on hate speech, so you actually got off easy with just a 35-point deduction.
As for the rest, I can only laugh... Like I said, there are over 6,600 comments on this thread, and probably 70% of them—if I'm being modest—are anti-immigrant.
Maybe it would be helpful if we had fewer "conspiracy theories" and more actual, reasoned communication... things like "they are terrorists," "they are going to steal and rape," or "these are people whose only goal is to slaughter Christians with swords" don't really count as arguments...
Can we please use the same standards for Bradley Sanders4's post?
which says:
In terms of economic migration, you have people from Mexico crossing the border near Subotica while pretending to be Syrian. But Europe sends them back.
It hasn't been "proven" or shown anywhere—by your own rules, this is just trolling, which borders on hate speech. I have no clue what people from Mexico supposedly did to deserve being slandered like this.😵
Maria Booth said:Man, because of that one totally unfair ban, I was locked out for a whole week. And of all times, it happened right during my vacation! Super annoying, seriously.
I'm dealing with the exact same thing here. Honestly, I wouldn't go so far as to say the ban was completely baseless, but there's really no explaining it to Bradley Sanders4 since she just refuses to see it—and now the administration is acting like they have the right to ban someone just for having an opinion.
Sam Green73 said:Honestly, I don't see anything controversial about those boxes at all.
🤦
So, to address that specific question Nathan Brooks4 posed up above, let me give you my two cents.
Look, I’ve got to say, I really can't get behind those sweeping, blanket generalizations you're throwing around. It feels a bit unfair to just paint everything with such a broad brush without looking at the actual nuances of the situation. In my experience, when you start making those kinds of massive, all-encompassing judgments, you usually end up missing the most important details that actually matter. It’s a bit like trying to describe an entire cross-country road trip just by looking at one single blurry photo from a gas station in Nebraska—you might get the general vibe, sure, but you're totally missing the heart of the journey. I much prefer digging into the specifics! 🤷 Honestly, I feel like I’ve reached that point where I have two choices: I can either let this get under my skin and drive myself crazy, or I can just shrug my shoulders and ignore it entirely. Personally? I'm leaning toward ignoring it. Life is way too short to waste energy on stuff that doesn't move the needle. Whenever I spot someone pulling that kind of stunt in a thread I’m moderating, I don't even hesitate—I just hand out a ban for trolling without a second thought. It's honestly not worth the headache.
Look, I’ve never walked around claiming to be some kind of genius who’s always right. Honestly, I've changed my mind more times than I can count. I'm perfectly fine admitting when I've made a mistake or realized a different path makes more sense.
It’s just sad.
Well, that's exactly where we hit a snag.
On this forum, it feels like the judge is also the one filing the lawsuit and then sitting right there to preside over the trial.
Sam Green73 said:If you could actually back that up with a real-world example, then we'd actually have something worth debating here.
As it stands, this just looks like your typical online bashing. It's shameful!
Here is a prime example of me being targeted by political retaliation:
That second one was a textbook case of a moderator—someone who doesn't even answer the question, instead pivoting to something completely different (which is basically trolling by definition), and then leveraging their position just to hand me a penalty.
It is truly shameful how you moderators operate. Am I going to sit here and dissect every single one of your mistakes? No, I won't—mostly because I can't be bothered, and because it's pretty obvious to anyone with eyes that it wouldn't change a thing. You aren't objective, you aren't high-quality, and you simply aren't willing. What's worse? You don't even want to be fair; you just push your own biases and stifle everyone else's freedom of speech. Especially Hillary Clinton. And yet, you've been "moderating" for years.
I'm with you on this one—when it comes to politics, moderation isn't really "objective" anymore, is it? It basically turns into straight-up political censorship. It’s honestly a shame!
If I could offer a few suggestions for consideration:
- Labeling the Ukrainian government or military as "fascist" is a constant fixture in this thread. Look, there are actual books you can read to understand what fascism really is—there are clear, concise definitions out there. Despite countless requests to explain *why* they are being called fascists, we haven't seen any logical arguments yet. In my opinion, until someone can actually make a reasonable case for such a label, calling them fascists should just be classified as trolling.
- Regarding the ban on drawing parallels—most people seem to push back when it comes to comparisons with the American Civil War era or other historical conflicts. The reality is that in situations like this, people naturally draw parallels to everything from past domestic struggles to the war in Georgia and various other global conflicts. As long as there is sound reasoning behind it, shouldn't these comparisons be allowed?
- Then there’s the whole issue of mentioning Chetniks, which seems to be another point of contention for everyone here. Whether or not those specific groups are actively fighting in Ukraine is one thing, but they certainly don't hide their involvement. Since the topic is Ukraine, isn't it only natural that people would comment on that aspect and the movement itself?
- We also have the issue of links in Russian using Cyrillic script. Most of the time, they're either untranslated or just run through Google Translate—and usually, it's just the headline being translated. We have to remember that most people participating in this discussion don't speak Russian. If the person posting the link doesn't know the language themselves, it leads to total absurdity and potential misinformation. I’m all for posting Russian links, but only if the author can translate the entire article without relying on Google Translate. Otherwise, it makes it hard to trust those authors or the accuracy of their translations, which just opens the door to misinformation.
- Finally, I’d like to call on the moderators and admins to sit down and discuss a worrying trend appearing in this thread. It’s the celebration and support of uncivilized behavior that goes against all rules of war and international conventions. Honestly, some people even seem to cheer when news of such actions breaks, almost like sports fans rooting for a crime. This kind of indirect justification for atrocities needs to be addressed—perhaps you could reach a consensus and formalize a rule regarding this?
