MLS 2022/23 Season: Part 2 in Soccer ·
stormyangler32 said:I mean, I’d blow the whistle there too—but honestly, I’m pretty sure they have those specific guidelines now where if it hits a part of the body and then bounces into the hand, they don't call it. Just one of those annoying little technicalities, I guess.

Yeah, well—what about when the ball slips off your head and clips your arm, or you're trying to block it and it takes a weird bounce?
Honestly, though... I’d play this one in a heartbeat.

How much does that Pajač scoring run against Istria even matter now...
We’ve got 4 teams still in the hunt for Europe until the very end.
What kind of league is this even...

The real issue here—and I mean this—is that you can't actually prove we ever teamed up with anyone, so you're just left grasping at straws about how we played dirty against you. That’s a top-tier argument right there, truly. And honestly, if we're talking about looking back at the '67 era, you guys haven't even changed your crest yet... you were basically just another one of those old-school communist clubs in a long line of them...

And honestly, you're actually expecting those Republican Party bots to be literate? Good luck with that...

...

But wait—is Pajač going to be officiating again?
So, Viki was just saying down at the stadium: our broadcast is way too short to even begin pointing out all the ways Pajač's calls favor the teams from the coast 🤣 🤣 🤣

Come on, stop messing around.
Tomorrow, I’m just going to grab a nice breakfast, take a chill walk through nature by the coast... why are you guys even stressing over those people from San Diego? We're doing great here, while you're making things difficult for yourselves. Just worry about your own problems. 🙂

Did you catch that robbery?
First off, Hajduk goes on a total cleaning spree—three red cards in one go—basically kicking Livaja right out of the game at their home stadium. Then, just a few days later, they get lucky with some questionable penalty call that knocks Slaven out of the Cup and hands them a spot in the European quarterfinals. And don't even get me started on how they missed that blatant penalty for Gorica... or that sketchy penalty given to Istra during the Osijek match just to slow them down. Now we have this mess from last night...

It’s just unbelievable at this point. I swear, there isn't a single refereeing decision in Major League Soccer that hasn't somehow swung in favor of FC Cincinnati—it’s getting ridiculous. It feels like the league officials are out there in peak form, just picking favorites left and right...

🤣 I guess they’d all rather just sit around dignity-free eating cashews than actually deal with the reality of setting up tents on the Boardwalk...

They’re basically being shoved into Europe against their will.☕

?

You basically turned a local high school field into a total circus. I mean, who in their right mind would actually show up there? Just go back to your old stadium in San Diego and we can deal with the nonsense then.

goldentinker8 said:But honestly, isn't that true for pretty much every club out there, ruggedowl13? It's not just our neck of the woods... every single team deals with their own mess and has these big ideas about how they could fix things and move up.👍

What’s really wild about our situation, though, is that we still haven't seen our current guys hit those old-school attendance averages we used to see back in the day at the stadium—you know, when we were pulling 5,500 people regularly? It’s driving me absolutely crazy!😁

Just build a bigger away section already, then people will actually show up. 😉

goldentinker8 said:So, I was just sitting here mulling over some random thoughts regarding this mid-season stretch of games we’re facing, and honestly, can we talk about how these aren't exactly "small" matchups at all? Like, seriously, even when we're playing teams like Sibenik, we shouldn't be acting like it's some minor preseason friendly compared to facing a side like Istria—it’s all high stakes if you ask me! I started crunching some numbers in my head for the expected crowds, and man, the energy is going to be massive! We’re looking at maybe 4,500 folks showing up for the Gorica game, then a solid 5,100 heading out to see Varazdin, followed by another 4,500 for Sibenik, and even that weekday Lokomotiva match should pull in around 4,300 people! Isn't it wild how much support we're seeing lately? It's absolutely electric! 👍

It’s a total joke—honestly, a complete farce. This club has been bouncing around like a pinball for the last 15 years, just sliding from one hand to another—I guess that's just how things work now—and yet the only thing you can actually count on? The only constant in this entire mess? Finishing in 9th place. Every single year. It’s pathetic.
It’s honestly pretty tough to build any kind of identity or real continuity around here—I mean, let's be real.
I mean, let's be real—even back when they were playing in Seattle around 2010/11, those guys didn't even have a decent attendance average. And honestly? It took the folks over at the St. Louis club nearly a whole decade to actually pull off an average turnout despite everything they went through.

It’s a damn shame he isn't playing for the LA Galaxy—then you guys could actually see him in action.

Nicole Jackson3 said:Wednesday, 2.70 on a penalty—it's a lock for the week.👍

Look, we aren't some pushover club that just rolls over at the first sign of trouble—we’ve got grit. I guess Bruno is going to have to seriously step up his game if he wants to keep them from being pushed right off the European stage.
MLS 2022/23 Season: Part 2 in Soccer ·
They’re really out to screw Rijeka, aren't they? It’s blatant.
First, you had the ref give Hajduk a totally clean slate while handing Livaja three yellows just to kick him off the pitch at the stadium—then there’s that suspicious penalty in the cup against Slaven, all just so they can clear the path for fourth place and a European spot. And now, today’s match against Gorica... I guess the corporate machine is working overtime...

stormyangler32 said:😁 😁 Honestly, like I said before, there's just no winning here.
It's pure collective delusion. You hit them with one single truth, and they immediately pivot to five or six different illusions to protect themselves.
Who can even win an argument against that? 😁

The main thing is you're sitting there acting all high and mighty about how Strinić absolutely leveled that guy with his hand. Thanks for the "truth," really.

Nicole Jackson3 said:The only thing you can count on is their constant whining. It doesn't matter if they get a penalty call or not, or whether the head of the Federation is someone who needs a reality check or just another one of their cronies being shaken hands with... the complaining is the only constant. And then there's the endless trash-talking directed at Mišković, even though he's done more for the good of the club than they have in the last twenty years. ☕

Whining. ☕

I guess when someone from the corporate office tells you something, it must be gospel truth, right? The only real constant here is how rival fans just bury their heads in the sand—they act like everything is fine because they don't have the guts to actually stand up to the big boss who controls both the club and the league.

Mišković brought in Kustić and Var specifically so the club could actually turn a profit... 🤣

goldentinker8 said:Alright, fine, I can write that if it makes you happy... But honestly, what am I even supposed to say? It's not like I'm the one who kicked off this whole nonsense about Hajduk and their fans being the ones obsessed with bringing VAR to our league. Back then, Hajduk wasn't even a factor in the refereeing debate because they weren't a threat to Dinamo's dominance anyway! The only team—and I mean the *only* team—that thought pushing for it would boost their own standing was Rijeka, specifically because of that guy Misko. Meanwhile, the Hajduk fans were actually dead set against it because they knew Misko was the one pulling the strings! I'm telling you, I get it...

But hey, thank God everything worked out perfectly for everyone, especially for Hajduk. World runners-up! Thanks a lot, Misko! 👍

Alright... I see where you're coming from. You're probably right, too. We were against it because even with VAR, it's still the same refs calling the shots and deciding what we get to see...

Adam Myers4 said:Honestly, looking back at that intense derby against the guys from Bruno... they were so incredibly lucky when we didn't get a clear penalty after one of their players clearly handled the ball. It’s just funny how things work out! Now, suddenly, they’re the ones crying for a penalty because of some phantom foul outside the box. Talk about irony! 🙏

Man, I miss those days when Hajduk would get a penalty called for a foul way outside the 16-yard box. Seriously—those were the days... just pure, unadulterated chaos. It’s almost nostalgic, isn't it?

Adam Myers4 said:And don't even get me started on that legendary Calleva handball. Honestly, if it weren't for that specific camera angle, people would still be out there claiming the officiating was a fifty-fifty call.

For me, the absolute peak of insanity was that derby back in the fall of 2017 in Seattle. GNK was leading 2-1, and I am positive there was a penalty on Erceg that would have tied it up at 2-2. Then, on the very next play, an even more obvious penalty happens, and nothing! Absolutely nothing gets called!🙏

And then you have Beusan popping up on ESPN just to say, "Look, you can't really call two penalties in stoppage time." Unbelievable.🙏

Oh, and we should probably mention Benković's goal in the 89th minute to make it 1-1—which was clearly offside, by the way...

Honestly, we might as well just close this thread about refereeing errors because we could go on forever just listing them all.

stormyangler32 said:Honestly, anyone bringing that up should probably take a second to remember that legendary handball goal scored at the stadium back in the day—man, I can't even recall which player from the home team pulled that one off right now. But hey, I guess people just forget stuff when they don't talk about it enough, right?

EDIT: Okay, found it...

We saw some pretty rough football in the first half, where two somewhat accidental goals ended up happening. Then in the second half, the home side came out with way more intensity, which eventually led to another goal when Strinić used his hand instead of his foot.

Man, I remember that game like it was yesterday... basically, Strinić absolutely SCORED a goal with his hand. The funniest part of the whole thing was watching the players complain about the officiating after the whistle blew—as if they hadn't just cheated!

https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxzI4hF8-...p6wn-h64Eq9kKC

Is that the handball goal?
Just like Mirza Đomba, cutting in from the wing and scoring with his hand...
