MLS 2022/23 Season: Part 2 in Soccer ·
goldentinker8 said:Man, I can totally feel where he's coming from... I actually spoke up about who was really pulling the strings during those times. I read that stuff and I seriously thought I was dreaming, like, are you for real right now?! 🤣

Well, why don't you just write that instead? Just claim the team has been begging for foreign referees or some outside commissioner for ten years straight, even though basically every other club in the league is totally against it and thinks the officiating is fine.
It’s just funny how people love pointing fingers at the club being "biased" while completely ignoring the hypocrisy of their own management...

goldentinker8 said:Nah, man... the point was that the message was released specifically as a middle finger to the current situation. It’s about holding leadership accountable, not some vendetta by Bjelica.

But honestly, that isn't even the main issue here! What matters isn't what the official supporters' group said—it's that I remember the discourse on this forum like it was yesterday, and let me tell you, the VAR talk back then was totally different! For years, you guys weren't even a factor in the conversation, were you? Bad officiating didn't even cross your radar because, let's be real, you weren't exactly a threat to anyone! Even when Misko tried to push things forward a while back, you all went absolutely hyper-negative over it.

And look, it’s not even about whether your negativity was "justified" back then—that's beside the point! The real embarrassment is watching people try to rewrite history right now, acting like the fans from the other side were always championing the same stuff and were totally right all along. 🤣 You certainly weren't doing that on this forum, and you definitely weren't doing it in the stands either, so why are you letting Susan Cooper7 drag you into this revisionist nonsense? 😉

Oh, please... it’s perfectly normal for Hajduk fans to be against everything at the jump. We have actual court rulings proving these refs take bribes. Remember that statement from Siric where he basically claimed the money was just for the guys to grab a coffee or something? Ridiculous. Not one active referee has even been properly questioned about it. Then you have Misko—who's basically an associate of the Federation and one of maybe five guys who call all the shots on the emergency committee—showing up first with this idea to "professionalize" the referees, which is just code for paying them massive salaries for their "expertise." He kicks off the whole VAR thing with Bruno Maric leading the charge. It’s a joke. Mamic practically has the President in his pocket, he’s got Supreme Court justices writing appeals for laws he pushes through Congress, and the regional judges are basically his cronies living it up in Dubai... but oh, sure, Bruno Maric was "honest" the whole time... give me a break...
P.S. Look at Hajduk getting pushed by penalties lately, even though over 50% of them are called after a VAR intervention, and boom, there they are at 12 points. Meanwhile, Rijeka hit 12 points in their championship season without VAR even existing... so if we're talking about who's actually being pushed...

So, I actually did my own deep dive into the data—this was a formal analysis I ran about a year ago covering the two-year stretch from February 2, 2020, to February 5, 2022, right after VAR was rolled out here in the States.
In those 21 matches, they called 25 penalties—and yeah, six of them were missed.
What’s really wild is that in 14 different instances, VAR stepped in and flipped the referee's original call—that's a 56% reversal rate, which is just... wow.

If anyone feels like doing the math for the period from February 5, 2022, until today, well, you're more than welcome to—I'm sure you'll find some pretty interesting stuff.

Zachary Anderson20 said:Okay, hold on. If we're all just mindless San Franciscans who only care about seeing a well-dressed wife and complimenting her, then what are you even doing here? Isn't it telling that you cherry-picked one totally irrelevant sentence? Sure, I predict Dr. Prolic did a fine job—not that anyone here actually knows what the American Association of University Women does or even realizes they're sitting right here, right? (I've already asked!)—but at least she looks good. I'm not even going to bother explaining the rest because, based on your post, you clearly don't give a damn about her political platform; you're just stuck on my comment about her appearance.
And yeah, even over at the local news, they went way too hard on the old lady. Tell me, do you have her medical records handy so you can decide if she's eligible for assistance? Or are we going to act like some local billionaire's sister who "just didn't maintain good neighborly relations"? Seriously, is this woman such a massive thief and crook that we should be using her as a role model?

Look, if the Republican Party wasn't constantly dragging every little thing through the news every two days, who would even care about this woman or her issues? Maybe a couple of neighbors at most. She’d just be one more "anonymous" person being told to vacate a space they're illegally occupying while failing to pay even the tiny amount of rent required by law.
Honestly, let's be real—who would even mention her name if we didn't have this huge media circus fueled by obsessed Republican partisans?

Nicole Jackson3 said:The issue is that readers aren't using their subscriptions; people are just sneaking in through the side doors instead of following the rules. I don't know if the readers are the problem or if the subscription codes are just poorly managed, but it's irrelevant. Plus, when a subscription is physically printed, every third issue goes unread. It's the same situation in the East and North; I can't speak for the West.
The club knows about the issue, but nothing is going to change this season.

I never said the numbers were small; Mr. Gary Cooper3 was just explaining the reasoning behind them. You're imagining things again, your focus is slipping...
There’s definitely a reason why attendance at stadiums like the one in Miami, or especially in New York or Chicago, seems low compared to the total city population. However, we don't have actual data on how many fans live in the city versus those traveling in from out of town, so commenting on it is pointless. I’d love to have those stats so we could finally debunk some of these myths.😁

Yeah, doing a deep dive analysis would be pretty interesting. If you look back over the last 15 years, most teams see their averages grow incredibly slowly—it's not just about winning one game or having a good streak. It’s much more about how much a club actually works to build a community around itself, which, let's be real, most teams in the league aren't doing at all. Take a team like the Portland Timbers, for example—they have huge potential, but when ownership keeps shifting from one shady guy to another, it's almost impossible for fans to actually feel a connection to the club.
MLS 2022/23 Season: Part 2 in Soccer ·
It’s not even worth mentioning.
I was just thinking back to what neonorca38 said about Demon's numbers being low—but honestly, they aren't even that small when you compare them to what we see over in the Philly area.
MLS 2022/23 Season: Part 2 in Soccer ·
Look, over the last decade since privatization kicked in, you guys have only had one single season where you hit the 5,444 mark—everything else has been sitting well under 5k. Honestly, it’s probably for the best that you've stabilized your average attendance and aren't swinging wildly every time the results get shaky. And frankly, the numbers for the local team aren't nearly as embarrassing as what neonorca38 is trying to make them out to be. Back in the 90s, you guys actually had that legacy from the old national league and enough breathing room to let a real fan culture grow. Something a club like the local side just hasn't had.

goldentinker8 said:Ufff, man, what an amateurish and totally missed mark of an analysis! Seriously, how do you even get there?

First off... you're comparing apples to oranges here! Sure, San Diego has been winning stuff lately, but let's be real—success breeds hype, especially when a team isn't fighting just to stay afloat. It's like the Bay Area is living through its absolute golden era right now. It’s like our old glory days back in '99... back then, we'd pull 8,000 people easily. Now, when the team is scraping the bottom of the table, it's just not the same draw as a team fighting for a spot in the big leagues like they are in the Bay Area.

Secondly... you aren't just counting 1,900 people watching San Francisco games. You have to factor in all the traveling fans from the big rival cities who show up whenever they play the local team. Just adding those die-hard away crowds bumps that number up by like 6,000 or 7,000 people alone!

Thirdly... our numbers dip every single game, and honestly, I have no clue why that happens. So, even if the actual average is sitting around 5,000 right now, it doesn't matter... because if you catch that massive wave of euphoria hitting the Bay Area like it's hitting San Francisco right now, that average jumps to 7,000 or 8,000 before you can even blink! So, if we're talking a real comparison, we're looking at maybe 1,500 versus 7,000 or 8,000, and buddy, that is a massive, gaping difference!

As for everything else... thank God the local ultras don't try to take over the whole city every time they play the rivals, or man, things would get wild real fast!🤣 👍

Oh, so I'm the one comparing apples to oranges?
Back in '99, we were literally in the title race until the final week. Compare that to a team like Portland today—they're having their best run ever and they're sitting 7th out of 10 teams. It's historical success compared to the usual bottom-tier struggle.
The reality is, compared to your actual fan base potential, you guys are currently basically...
It's not even a disgrace, really.😉

Nicole Jackson3 said:They’re fighting for a spot in Europe, so where else are you going to get better invites?

They’d have plenty of fans if they actually stood up for their own city and neighborhood, instead of just letting those hooligans run wild through the streets and the stadium while the club coddles them. Why would any neutral fan want to be part of that mess or feel tied to some guy from a small town just because of some old friendship? It’s just not happening.
Better to hang out with a cool crowd than be a loser. 👍

Look, if you take current attendance numbers and compare them to the population density from the last census, you’re basically neck-and-neck with them.
Population vs. Attendance for the 2022-23 season:

Seattle
108,622 / 4,371
Portland
52,220 / 1,943

So, basically, one out of every 25 people in Seattle shows up, whereas for them, it’s one out of every 26 residents.

Neither side is exactly a powerhouse when you look at the raw numbers.
Outside of the metro areas.

So, who should actually be embarrassed by these stats?
Is it Portland, which hasn't cracked the top 10 in a decade because their fans don't really care about representing their home turf? Or is it Seattle, where the team has won championships, cups, and played in European competitions recently, yet the local die-hards are too busy fighting with those unruly groups who basically own the city (unless, you know, the group decides they own it)?

I guess everyone can draw their own conclusions from that.

God help us if I ever get put in charge of anything...
People these days will believe just about any nonsense—so why wouldn't they fall for the idea that big shots like Mamić, Mišković, Kustić, and Rajić Sudar are pushing for a massive Hajduk at the expense of little old Rijeka...

Nicole Jackson3 said:Look, it’s simple. We’ve got our own guy in there, yet somehow everyone still pushes against us—especially that Hajduk crew acting like they’re on some different planet. But honestly, it’s always been this way and it’ll never change. You’ve always got the big powers like the Yankees, the Dodgers, the Red Sox, and the Braves... then you've got the rest of us just fighting to stay relevant on our own.

Haha, come on, even you don't actually believe this stuff you're typing. Seriously, please just delete this before you get flagged for trolling—the younger crowd, like little Paul Sanchez, ends up soaking up everything you older folks post as if it's gospel.

Now, just to be spiteful, I'm supporting the Ukrainians even more.👍

And besides, these people who were out protesting are heading straight from the picket lines into a military transport and then right into combat. These "fine gentlemen" are basically riding a bus straight to the front lines...
Russia's invasion of Ukraine: Part 5 in War in Ukraine ·
If you ask me, this smells like another Afghanistan situation for Russia... I mean, the Ukrainians aren't just going to stop fighting, and let's be real—the European Union will probably stop clinging to Russian energy in a year or so and slowly go back to business as usual. Meanwhile, the DNR and LNR will just be shipping dead orcs right back to a Russia that’s basically collapsing under its own sanctions.

They actually lay it all out right here—how to make sure Russia doesn't even consider pulling anything, and then what to do if they actually go through with it (they give three options, leaning heavily toward the first one and partially the second). This is what actual, serious analysis looks like, you know? It's way better than those mindless news segments that just parrot stuff like "oh, Putin said this so he'll do that."

Man, you'd tell me exactly which one if it wasn't for all those damn privacy laws stopping you.

What’s happening over in Alaska is a step in the right direction, I guess, but let's be real—it's just one tiny town. It's basically a drop in the bucket when you look at the big picture. But hey, maybe it'll actually gain some momentum... I've been watching a few videos from that Ukrainian guy who interviews POWs about how their units are structured, and they keep mentioning that most of them are from Alaska, so it makes sense why things are finally starting to get intense for them...
