You’re not wrong; people from Seattle are pretty much the same as those from Istria—most of us couldn't care less about the drama surrounding World War II. Sure, there are a few fanatics out there, but we manage to keep them on a very short leash. 🙂

Istrians are the only Americans who managed to stay (relatively) sane.

I’ve heard the older generations say things like, "The Austro-Canadian Empire was a mother, the Kingdom of America was a stepmother, and this current era is just a complete disaster." If they were still around today, I can't even begin to imagine how they would finish that sequence. 🙂
