I was thinking about how much the way we consume movies has shifted lately. It feels like the "event" aspect of going to a theater is being replaced by these weird, niche hybrid releases.
I saw a mention of a new project recently that's doing this thing where they do a single-night roadshow with live elements, almost like a concert experience, before it just drops everywhere online. It’s an interesting pivot. Part of me thinks it’s a brilliant way to build hype and make a small film feel "big" without needing a massive studio budget, but another part of me misses the days when a movie meant a trip to the cinema and nothing else.
Is anyone else feeling like the traditional movie-going experience is becoming a luxury or a niche hobby rather than the standard? Do you prefer these specialized, experimental ways of seeing new stuff, or do you just want a movie to be a movie?

1 kb? They sent you a shortcut instead of the actual file. 😉
Get in touch with them and demand the real file.
When it comes to syncing subtitles, the best free tool out there is Time Adjuster.
Just head over to the sync section and align the first and last captions. If things are still messy—which doesn't happen much—you can just slice the AVI into segments, fix the subs, and stitch it all back together... 🍿
And heads up, you'll need to make sure the subtitle file is in ANSI format, otherwise Time Adjuster won't even open it.
Thanks a ton, man! That’s a brilliant idea. I was actually scouring the web looking for ways to recover data using an installation disk, but this approach is way more straightforward. 👍
Beer is on me! 🙂
Every time I boot up my PC, right after the Windows logo, I get hit with this error message:
C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft.windows.common-controls_659
5b64144ccf1df_6.0.7601.17514.none_fa39608717ac9ac\ COMCTL32.dll is
either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try
installing the program again using the original installation media or
contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.
I tried a few things based on what I could scrape together from a quick Google search—not that I’m some IT expert 😁:
Since I can't even get into Safe Mode or any other recovery option, I grabbed a Windows ISO, went into Repair My Computer, and ran Startup Repair. It spun for a few seconds and then claimed everything was fine. No luck there. Tried running sfc /scannow through the Command Prompt too. Nothing.
I refuse to wipe the drive and reinstall everything because I have critical files on here. My only move left is trying to swap out the corrupted file via Command Prompt if that's even possible. The culprit is clearly comctl32.dll. How am I supposed to find the correct version and where to put it?
Anyone else got an idea?
I have to get this off my chest: Ajmooo Babić, go shove your "holy" superstar up your ass... 🙂
Of course, I meant a 6-0 blowout. At 5-1, Dule is running the show. Maybe it’s just my take since he didn't get much playtime, but I actually liked the kid. I think he’s got the potential to be a top-tier left winger. You can tell he’s got that special spark. I’d stick with him.
Karačić? I watched him playing against the center-back. He completely kills the rhythm; the offense slows to a crawl whenever he’s involved. One-on-one? Honestly, anyone could probably get past him at this rate 😁. As far as assists go, Dule is always the first option, even if this league isn't playing nearly as well lately...
Jack Kelly5 said:If the Americans play like they did against the French instead of how they played against the Germans yesterday, we're done. Their ball movement is lightning fast, their defense is tight, and their keepers are dialed in. They look even sharper than they did in the first round when they beat us, and honestly, we could have played a lot better ourselves.
I'm just bummed we aren't facing the Germans in the finals, so nothing else matters.
Yup, I'm with you. The Germans have always been our kryptonite, just like the French are to us. 😁 Yeah, it’s a real shame... America is playing great, a total sleeper team. My only concern is Babić's erratic coaching decisions. You can argue about Duvnjak all day, but the fact remains he's one of the top 5 centers in the world, whereas Karačić is just a decent club player who doesn't belong on the national stage. It's simple: put Duvnjak in the offense (Mamić covered him well on defense), and since Ivić and Pešić are out, let Steve handle the defense. And please, leave Čupka out of the starting lineup. Same goes for Cindrić... ☕
Sam Murphy said:What kind of idiot puts Alilović in goal after the Poland game? You can clearly see the Spaniards aren't shooting from deep, so why stick to a 6-0 defense instead of switching to a 5-1?
Our coach... 😵 He needs to stop praying for miracles and actually start changing the defense and the goalie. Someone needs to step up. Cementara van, Cupko van, Karačić van, switch to a 6:0 defense. I’ve got a gut feeling we don't have a single competent soul left on this bench...
