So you’re just gonna toss an entire island on the other side of the universe into quarantine... Congrats, I guess! Honestly, that’s exactly how we should be handling drug addiction. Just throw everyone into a quarantine zone, blast out some data showing how "perfectly" the isolation is working because nobody is using anymore... And then, once you finally swing those doors wide open...

There is this irrational mindset where if someone is deemed "infected," they must be crushed, eliminated, or completely destroyed, yet when the tide turns and they fall ill themselves, they will be the ones whimpering for help.
They would go as far as trying to shut down borders—not just national ones, but state lines and county lines too. They’d try to prevent fellow citizens from even returning home. People would spend all their energy spinning conspiracy theories about who infected whom, using those lies to justify violence against the very people they’ve branded as the source of the contagion. All while, quite ironically, they let their children out to play in the local parks with other kids.

So, what I witnessed today was straight-up Kafkaesque—and I mean top-tier, surrealist nightmare fuel kind of Kafkaesque. Basically, my local town hall in a small suburb outside of Chicago is handing out ID cards to citizens who don't have digital logins or even an email address, which means you actually have to physically show up at the municipal building. After hearing rumors yesterday that they were just handing these things out left, right, and center, I decided to head down there and see if I could snag one too. To make matters even more ridiculous, when I tried to go through the official, legitimate channels using the online portal and employer verification, they refused to issue my card—even though I still have my old one—simply because I’m not currently working a full-time gig. So, I roll up to the office and there’s already a line of about 20 people. I join the queue and notice everyone is filling out these little slips of paper. I ask this guy next to me what the deal is, and he tells me, "Hey, let me just fill yours out for you while we wait." So, I give him my info, and the only real question on the form is the "reason for request." I write down "agricultural work" because that’s what I heard everyone was using yesterday to get approved—plus, I’ve got a house out in the country and a garden, so it’s technically a legitimate reason. I ask him if I need to specify where my house is or anything like that, and he just goes, "Nah, don't bother." I asked, "How are they even going to know I'm not making stuff up?" He looks at me and says, "They won't. You can write whatever you want." I was floored. I figured, okay, surely once you go inside, they’ll check your driver's license or something? He just laughs and says, "Nope, they don't check anything. You just drop the paper into a box." I stopped dead. Are you telling me twenty of us are standing here in line just to drop a piece of paper into a freaking box?! He says, "Yep." Suddenly, some guy at the front of the line starts losing his mind, yelling, "Goddammit, you idiots! This bureaucratic harassment is absolute bullshit!" Then someone walks out of the town hall and asks, "What the hell are we waiting in line for just to toss a paper in a box?" And then, out of nowhere, everything speeds up. Within five minutes, I’m at the front, I walk inside, and I drop my paper in the box. The guy tells me we should have the IDs within 48 hours. I asked where we pick them up, and he says, "They just leave them in a box outside, and you come by to grab the envelope with your name on it." I’m like, hold on... so there’s nobody actually working this? You just grab it? He says, "Yeah." I asked, "Wait, so anyone could just walk up and take someone else's ID?" And he just shrugs and says, "Sure could."
To wrap this circus up: anyone can write whatever nonsense they want to get an ID, and literally anyone can walk up and pick up anyone else's ID. We had a line of 20 people formed just so we could shuffle into the building one by one to drop paper into a box without a single shred of verification. A box that could have been sitting outside the whole time, and we could have all just tossed our papers in without any line at all. While we were waiting, everyone in line was chatting away, sharing pens... honestly, the only thing we didn't do was crack open a beer together.
Man, I just found out they’re handing out passes like candy—basically free rein—to anyone who owns a cabin out in the sticks specifically for farm work. So, since they won't cut me any slack with a pass to actually go get some work done, I guess I'll just pivot and apply for one under the guise of "relaxing." I mean, look, I’ve got the cabin, so technically, I’ve checked every single box required to grab one of those passes.
The absolute kicker is that nobody from the FEMA Regional Office is even bothering to get back to me regarding those permits. That basically means they’re sitting on their hands until Monday, which is right when the final deadline hits. Honestly? I hope they all just choke on their own incompetence. Absolute trash.
So... just outside of Annapolis... right where the Pacific Coast Highway meets the junction... there are three (3) police cruisers sitting at the roundabout, one blocking every single entrance and exit. Yikes.

They employ half of Austria and half of the surrounding region, plus people from other countries too. Apparently, everyone who caught it worked there—at least that's what my folks told me. Whether that's actually true or not, I honestly don't know. Word is, they couldn't maintain social distancing there, and management refused to halt production, so now the employees are paying the price...
I can back that up. Every single person infected in this state is linked back to the packaging company, Vetropack—they’re all connected to the very first case reported here.

On which side, though? I was driving through the countryside today, all the way out to that small town, and there was only one checkpoint right at the end. Then I hopped on the expressway toward that other small town and then over to the next small town, and honestly, the roads were totally empty. Usually, I cut off earlier near Nexans, but I have no clue if there’s even anyone waiting there anymore. 🙂
It looks like all the towns and municipalities under that local political party made some kind of backroom deal, because on the stretch between that small town and the next small town, I didn't see a single soul in control. 👍
Up until we hit where person lives, it was a ghost town. They used to be stationed near person, but today? Nothing.
From Zabok all the way down to West Gejta, traffic coming from Washington, D.C. is basically non-existent—it’s like there isn't even a single checkpoint in sight. There isn't a soul on the road heading toward Washington, D.C.🕺
Down by the Podsused tunnel, everyone is just bunched up in one lane. They aren't even checking anyone; they're just sitting there staring at the cars...
Absolute chaos near the Podsused tunnel heading toward Washington, D.C. People are losing their minds because they totally botched the whole situation with those permits being available to just anyone. It’s a complete mess. Honestly, I’m expecting a full stay-at-home order to kick in for everyone starting Monday, and then everyone is going to be feeling the squeeze.
Managed to cruise all the way from Washington, D.C. to Zabok without hitting a single police checkpoint. They were set up over at Semi's place in Veliko Trgovišće, intercepting cars coming in from the direction of Zeinac.
It’s all following the official decision. Honestly, I have no idea why Božinović felt the need to spout all that nonsense this morning...
🙏👍
If this isn't clear enough—and this is literally the most relevant source we have—then I'm officially lost...
Just to make sure there’s zero confusion, I actually called the task force myself to double-check. They told me straight up: they only issue passes for people who can't get them anywhere else—basically folks who absolutely have to travel due to a medical emergency or a death in the family. CONFIRMED!!
Here’s another thing those idiots are conveniently leaving out of the conversation... Does this mean we need some kind of sign-off from the local FEMA headquarters or the city council? And which specific cities or municipalities are we even talking about here?
Mike Johnson just dropped this: ‘Marc Silvan is out as Deputy Speaker of the US Congress, and George W. Bush is stepping in instead.’ At the exact same time, John Kerry is vacating his seat as head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Classic Joe Biden!!!! Just stripping everyone of their power!!!🙏
If they can just get rid of that sensitive type Lloyd Austin, then that whole "powerful right wing of the Republican Party" 🤣 will be completely dismantled....
Charles Carter4 said:So, The New York Times or Hanza—take your pick—is trying to spin this idea that Plenković winning is actually what's best for the country.
Honestly, what a total joke of a newspaper.🙏
You can say that again... If we were talking about what’s actually good for the country, we’d be rooting for that trio potpun idiot to take it all. ...
The Republicans aren't stupid; they know perfectly well that if that specific trio won, nobody with half a brain would ever vote for them again, except maybe some absolute bottom-of-the-barrel extremists on the right. But with Plenković and his crew, they’ve got a real shot at even picking up a decent chunk of votes from those people who despise the Democratic Party and the Democratic Party, because let's face it—no sane person is going to cast a ballot for those complete morons over at the Democratic Party led by that absolute clown, Berni.
