Not "green flag".
"Green light".
And a "yellow flag".

Read carefully. And try to understand what you're reading.

So you're saying those lights aren't the same thing as flags???
Jason Campbell70 said:Who's to say? Hard to know, really.

Wave a green flag and suddenly you can't use DRS because there might be a yellow flag somewhere? Give me a break.🙏
Green flag means go. It’s basically an invitation to pull any stupid stunt you want just to overtake someone.
I honestly think he’d lose his spot if he ever actually stepped into an F1 car.
Jason Campbell70 said:During the last race, Vettel, Webber, Raikkonen, Grosjean, Bottas, Ricciardo, Chilton, and Button all triggered their DRS when they weren't allowed to.

And they weren't penalized.
That's that.

Another thing was that green light flashing on the main straight. The drivers thought it meant the DRS was good to go.

Only a master could pull that off.🙏 🤣🤣🤣

Sutil spent half of the first lap limping along on a punctured tire, while Vergne and Gutierrez were busy wrecking into Caterhams and heading straight to the pits. How are you telling me those guys couldn't make up the gap in just five laps??
Thomas Long7 said:He was running with an open DRS in a zone where it’s strictly forbidden... it doesn't matter if he left it open on purpose or if some faulty sensor or mechanical glitch triggered it...
It's against the rules, period—and that requires a penalty...

Think about it: if a car has a speed limiter failure in the pits, they get hit with a penalty immediately—regardless of whether it was an accidental error...

Rules are rules...

Besides, isn't it way easier to handle the corners with less downforce? That's a huge advantage compared to having too much grip.
It would be a different story if he just opened it up on the straights, but he had it open for the whole damn lap.
Even Schumacher had a similar issue back in Canada and didn't get penalized (true, he retired, but they didn't nail him after the race, so at least the FIA is being consistent).
stormybadger8 said:Of course there won't be a penalty for turning it on, because why would there be?🙄
He triggered the DRS when Vettel was the only one ahead by about three seconds...
Fine. If the FIA won't hand out a penalty, God will.☕

And how can you be sure he wasn't lapping someone?
I don't know why he pulled the trigger on the DRS, but my guess is he was trying to lap a car. If you're sure he wasn't, show me the proof.
Thomas Long7 said:If anyone actually deserved a penalty here, it’s Alonso for how he handled that DRS move... but of course, once again, it's clear the FIA is just looking out for the red cars. 🙄

Why would Alonso get a penalty? Because he couldn't close his DRS?
What was he supposed to do, jump out of the car, shut it manually, and then keep driving??
Kimi and Grosjean 🙏
Di Resta 🙏
Perez made some solid moves there.
Hemoš clearly doesn't have any sense when it comes to making a pass.🤦
Just waiting on that Weber-Hemoš crash.☕
Fernando Alonso, classic old-school overtake.

Felipe Massa is just built different. Every single time his car is absolutely trashed, he still finds a way to drive like a beast.🤣
Paul di Resta and Jenson Button were a nice little surprise to me.
Good to see Sebastian Vettel clawing back that spot.
Anything can happen.

I find myself feeling a certain degree of sympathy for Kimi Raikkonen; he sits in second in the standings, yet he is only starting from eighth position... while things remain predictably dull ahead, and as long as the Maestro continues to dictate the pace at the front, I fully expect Kimi Raikkonen to surge through the field to claim a spot on the podium, alongside Massa and Fernando Alonso, allowing them all to celebrate their success in their own respective ways.

Man, I'd be stoked if Kimi pulls off a podium, but he's got two F1 cars to hunt down first, and those guys are tough to pass. 😢
I don't think McLaren even has team orders in place right now.
Jason Campbell70 said:Rosberg. 🤦

There isn't a single German driver in this Formula 1 field who actually knows how to drive. 🤦

And then there's Hulkenberg.🙂

EDIT: Looks like the McLaren guys are pulling ahead.
McLaren is going to struggle with their brakes. Every time they hit the heavy braking zones, you can see black smoke pouring out from them.
Ford, what a legendary race.🙏
How they're fighting. 🙏
Still waiting for Perez and Grosjean to wreck it.😁
