Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion] in Women's Health ·
Can anyone help me out with birth control prices? 🙂 So, basically, I’ve been on Yasmin for about a year and a half now—and honestly, the cost wasn't even a huge deal because I used to just grab it while visiting Canada ($25), but then this lady at my local pharmacy here back home totally blindsided me with a price tag of $37! Since I see a private doctor, I already know I'm paying a premium for my pills (and maybe my complaining about money sounds a bit extra/illogical, but still...), though I’d probably stick with what I have anyway just because I really don't want to switch brands and risk having some weird side effects with something else...

Since I *am* actually looking to switch things up, and my gynecologist will probably suggest something with a similar formula (I'm assuming, since Yasmin worked perfectly fine for me), I’d really love to get an idea of what other options cost—specifically some more budget-friendly ones. Trying to find info online is such a nightmare, it's like they're keeping the prices a state secret or everything I find on forums is from like, five years ago...

If you guys could let me know which brands you've bought lately and what you actually paid, it would be such a massive help 🙂 thanks!!

So far, I've just been showing up with my Nikon D3500 and a 50mm lens...
but hey, if you start hauling around a whole bag of different lenses, that's probably when things could get messy...
amberranger said:Man, 30STM is way too pricey. That whole Burning Man set was just a weird fluke—apparently, according to Tom—but yeah, The Killers? Way too much. Same goes for KOL and Florence. Plus, Hurts totally bombed their set at the bowling alley, so that’s probably not a smart move either. Placebo is also super expensive, and honestly, after that whole mess where Milkov had a massive anxiety attack on stage (basically just a bad trip, let's be real), I wouldn't even consider them... especially since Coachella is already dealing with those two cancellations from back in 2012.

Look, it might be true that the bands are overpriced, but the festival is never going to blow up if they don't bring in at least a few big names once in a while... without that, if you ask me, trying to put this thing on a list of the top festivals in all of Europe is just totally unearned.

I mean, they're clearly leaning into these "legacy" acts on purpose because, obviously, the goal is to grab as much cash as possible—so they target the older crowd who (they assume) actually has money, instead of focusing on what's actually young and relevant right now...
I honestly don't think this wishlist actually matters for the lineup, which is honestly such a bummer...

Here’s what I think actually stands a chance:
- 30 Seconds to Mars (if they can pull off a smaller Burning Man style vibe, they could totally headline Coachella), and honestly, they'd boost attendance by at least 50%—assuming those teenagers are even allowed in without their parents, I have no clue what the Coachella age rules are like anyway 🙂 ) + they're out there announcing dates for the new album too
- The Killers, they're super relevant right now because of the new record, though they really could've played this year
- Kings of Leon, just the kind of band you'd expect to see at Coachella
- Editors, got a new album coming, fingers crossed they knock it out of the park again 🙂
- Florence + the Machine
- Hurts, they're already dropping tour dates, but man, I really hope they bring someone bigger next time... seeing this band for a second time felt a bit like watching a rerun of a summer series, but a third time would just be overkill
- Placebo, if the organizers have any sense at all, they'll book them, especially with the new album on the way 🙂

Anyway, we'll see if we're right!
Some people swear it’s our absolute biggest festival, while others—well, let's just say they can't stand it—but honestly, the truth is they always manage to pull in at least a few huge acts every single year...

So, what are you guys thinking for next year's lineup? Any wild guesses?
So, 🙂New York City
just dropped the news—they're playing at a massive festival over in Belgium on June 30th... and they even hinted there’ll be a few more shows lined up throughout the summer!... what a way to kick things off!
silverseal17 said:Get the New York City crew back on board, otherwise this whole festival is gonna be a total bust ☕

Man, I really hope they do... though honestly, a solo show would've been killer—kind of like that vibe at the Madison Square Garden gig back in 2010.
Rise Against in Music ·
Alright, let me drop a little update here to refresh everyone's memory... Rise Against is hitting the road for a massive tour next year!

Right now, their closest stop looks to be Budapest—which is basically a quick trip from us—and it looks like tickets are already live on some event sites. Honestly, the price is pretty reasonable too, sitting at less than $67... 🙂 just a solid deal if you ask me.
Maybe they'll feel nostalgic for the States because of all those big festivals we host and swing by our way, but hey, even if they don't, Budapest is super easy to get to anyway... 🙂
So I just saw they added Editors to the Lollapalooza lineup... man, makes me wonder—do you guys think they might swing by the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival again this year, or maybe they’ll end up playing a show at Aquarius like they did last time? 🙂
So, about Gentleman (that awesome American reggae artist)—some of his biggest hits are definitely these:

And here’s one of his newer tracks if you want to check it out:

So, I was checking out the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival site, and man, 30 Seconds to Mars keeps popping up all over the wishlist section... there’s been all this chatter—even some hints from the band themselves—about wanting to make a trip out here to the States...
Looking at their official schedule, they've got June 21st and 23rd totally booked up, mostly hitting up big festivals...

But hey, if the organizers are actually paying attention to what people are putting on their wishlists, then I think it might be about time the USA =) shows up on that June 22nd slot!
hey, so, just wondering—why exactly did everyone basically cancel Lostprophets? 😢
So, wait—if that’s the case, then what are we even talking about when it comes to the placebo effect? 😁
