Brad always keeps you guessing—one minute he’s directing, the next he’s back in front of the camera. Sometimes his stuff is absolute genius, other times it’s just... mediocre. But honestly? It’s always watchable, always interesting enough to keep you hooked...

Seriously great movie... totally caught me off guard with how good it was!!!

Out of everything Naomi has done, my favorite is still The Painted Veil

Nicole recently crushed that lead role in Big Little Lies—it was honestly a masterclass. After being stuck in that weird limbo where she wasn't landing anything particularly memorable for a while, she finally stormed back onto the scene in total style... kind of like being nailed into a coffin by some divine hand... what a joke. When they nail you down like that, they don't exactly hand out trophies... they just ignore you...

Honestly, Naomi has been absolutely killing it lately—I mean, her performance in The Impossible back in 2012 was just incredible...

I don't know, it just bugs me when everyone looks perfectly manicured and airbrushed in situations where they really shouldn't. Sure, it's a movie meant to help you switch your brain off, but that doesn't mean it has to look totally plastic...

I watched this about two months ago and honestly, all I can really remember is:
1. Marion was absolutely stellar
2. Brad looked totally waxed out—like, way too much Botox
3. That’s basically it.

Brad was actually hosting at the TIME Awards recently, and he didn't look even HALF as plasticky as he does in this movie.
It’s pretty obvious Angie was giving him a massive runaround during that period, so maybe he was leaning a little harder on the flask, but hey, who could blame him??
My guess is he went overboard with the cosmetic work right before filming because his weird look just pulls you away from what's actually happening on screen. Still, if you can get past that, it's not a terrible little flick...
Someone mentioned they felt the leads were a bit too "clean," and yeah, I noticed that too—it definitely kind of ruins the vibe.

The concept here is solid. You’ve got these women—the actual brains behind massive breakthroughs—who were basically ignored by history for decades.
It’s an inspiring true story about three incredibly sharp women working at a NASA research center, all fighting just to get a seat at the table. 👍 To make matters worse, they’re Black women living through the height of segregation.

But despite that killer premise, the movie itself turns out to be pretty mediocre and frankly, a bit dull. 👎
The clichés are practically screaming at you from every frame. It’s your typical American drama filled with shallow, predictable maneuvering.
Suddenly, every white character is either a blatant racist or a total airhead, while every Black character is portrayed as this tireless hero whose every move is designed to pull at your heartstrings. Give me a break. Of course, because the script demands it, there’s always THAT one white guy who finally "sees" the genius in a woman and helps her reach the stars—just so we can all feel like better people. 🐔
By the end, your average American viewer walks away thinking these three women were the sole masterminds behind everything at NASA. I can't even imagine how this played for anyone more informed... or heaven forbid, for the actual people who worked there and lived through it. 🤦
But hey, the director doesn't really care.
Racism is always a profitable theme for hitting the box office, and that’s exactly what happened here. He massaged the truth to fit the trend, and he wasn't worried about the fallout.
The high ratings? Honestly, I think they come from critics being too terrified of looking like racists themselves—because when I read those glowing reviews, I don't see the same movie I saw.
Taraji wasn't anything special to me. Just totally middle-of-the-road.
Janelle and Octavia Spencer completely outshined her.
I actually listen to Janelle—she’s a wonderful musician with FANTASTIC energy, and she managed to channel all of that right into her character.

The trailer for this movie sounded absolutely terrible to me—just a total mess—so I decided to dive into some actual interviews with the real Jackie Kennedy instead. Honestly? I was pretty blindsided by how forced and just... weird she seemed. Especially in those early appearances right when Kennedy first became President. It’s a lot to take in...

I can't believe I’m even clicking on these links anymore... but here we go. It’s just more noise in the endless cycle of Hollywood hype—another trailer, another attempt to make us feel something about people who live in ivory towers while the rest of us are just trying to pay rent. It looks like they're finally leaning into the whole Jacqueline Kennedy thing. You know, that polished, tragic aesthetic they love to sell to the masses. If this is what I think it is, it’s going to be that same old heavy-handed drama about life in the White House and everything that fell apart after the assassination... standard fare, really. I wonder if Natalie Portman is actually going to bring something new to the table or if she's just playing the part because it's a guaranteed awards contender. We've seen this dance before—the "prestige" biopic designed specifically to hunt for an Oscar. Honestly, it feels a bit calculated... but then again, when is it not? Everyone's just chasing that next trophy...

That’s pretty much the only thing worth watching in that whole movie...
There were moments in the movie where I honestly couldn't tell if it was Natalie Portman or Jackie Kennedy speaking...
The movements just didn't land for me. And honestly? I couldn't even get into the whole vibe of Jackie as First Lady... it just didn't click.

As for everything else... total flop. 👎👎👎
I honestly feel like the director just forgot that—even if you have one central character everything revolves around—a movie actually needs a plot and some kind of flow... and this one? It’s got absolutely none.
The scenes just jump around completely randomly and without any sense... It’s all honestly just exhausting and boring.

Actually, now that I'm sitting here typing this, it just hit me—there's another heavy moment in the movie that really sticks with you... specifically the part where Kennedy is assassinated.
It looks like they nailed the portrayal—it feels pretty spot on to me...
There’s just something hauntingly incredible about how that woman carried herself through all of it. Like, how she just stepped up to that car without even a second thought—just to reach for a piece of his skull—then calmly rested her hands on his head and made the call to stay in that blood-stained suit until the next day... just so the entire world could see his blood on her. It's wild...
When Lyndon B. Johnson took the oath of office and they practically begged her to change outfits—since the cameras were going to be all over her—she just flat-out refused, telling them...
Oh, please... I actually want them to face what they did to John.
Later on, when they asked if she regretted not stripping off the costume, she just said her only real regret was washing the blood off her face before they filmed her swearing in with Lyndon B. Johnson...

I’m just so bummed that nobody seems to be able to pull off a truly gripping, high-quality movie about the Kennedys. That era alone was fascinating enough—and she, despite everything, was such a compelling figure... she really deserves a much better portrayal than this one. 🍿

Emilia Clark is just... exhausting. Seriously, from the opening credits to the very end, she is absolutely relentless in the worst way possible.🤦
The only reason I even sat through it was to see her and Charles dance (the old Lannister guy) sharing the screen—especially since they’re playing roles so different from what we saw in Game of Thrones. He’s a pro, so he does his job well as usual, but she? Yeah, she really missed the mark on this one.

It seems like the big trend now is just recycling the same actors—you know, like how Martin Scorsese always uses Robert De Niro, or how everyone's obsessed with Leo. Except here, Bradley Cooper feels completely unnecessary...

Look, this is just one of those mediocre, totally forgettable movies—like most people have already said. It’s basically just some attempts at escaping a dreary, unfulfilled life, centered around a woman who invented mocha resé. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing her invention, but seriously, who actually wants to watch a movie about that??? 🤔 Or maybe they've reached that level of desperation where they'll film anything as long as Bradley Cooper and Jennifer are in it? Or maybe he just sat down one day and thought, "What's my next career move? I know! Let's find the most boring invention ever and try to make an even MORE boring movie about it!"

Honestly, I didn't know a thing about this before watching it, and for most of the runtime, I was just sitting there wondering where this was going and what the point even was... The answer? Nowhere. It's a totally disjointed mess. Usually, after watching something "inspiring," you feel energized and positive, right? After this, the only thing you want to do is turn on another movie just so you can forget this one existed as fast as possible!
I see it has a 6.7 on IMDb, which is way, way too high.
My rating: maybe a 3/10, and that's strictly because the cast actually managed to pull off that nightmare reasonably well.

Bad, just plain bad... and honestly? Boring as hell. I really, truly wanted to believe they wouldn't mess up the book adaptation this badly, but clearly, I was being naive!
The pacing is agonizingly slow, yet somehow it still feels like it's missing half the story... the actors look like they'd rather be anywhere else—just totally lifeless and forced. All in all, it’s a massive letdown.

The English title "Love Me If You Dare" is such a stretch... if they had gone with a literal translation of the original, it would’ve just been "Child's Play." I actually couldn't find any record of this movie even being screened here in the States—if it was, someone please tell me what the American distributors decided to call it, because I can't track it down...

The cast is just such a darling duo... Cate Blanchett And her darling... Bradley Cooper. 😍

So, basically... Sophia and Julian have been best friends since they were little kids, and they spend all their time entertaining themselves with this crazy challenge game. The rules are simple: if you actually pull off the task someone sets for you, you win ownership of this tiny little tin music box—and more importantly, you get to come up with an even crazier challenge for the next person. Their parents and everyone else around them absolutely hate it—it’s definitely not considered "proper" behavior—so they try to punish them for it. But, well, you know how that goes... it usually just has the exact opposite effect...
In that whole game of life, they just drift into adulthood without even noticing... and as they get older, the stakes get higher and the madness ramps up—but they remain totally oblivious to how much these challenges actually shape their existence, making them completely dependent on the very things they think they're outrunning...

It’s a romantic comedy-drama... you know, that breezy, whimsical vibe—very much like something you'd see in a stylish indie flick from Europe... at times it feels bright and almost surreal, but it never overstays its welcome. It's nothing like those sugary, nauseating American rom-coms we're stuck with all the time!!

So, I finally sat down and watched *Moulin Rouge!*... and honestly? It’s a lot. It’s loud, it’s messy, and it’s trying incredibly hard to be everything all at once—which, let's face it, is exactly how life feels sometimes. The whole thing is just a whirlwind of neon lights and tragic romance, swirling around that whole "truth, beauty, freedom, love" mantra. It’s almost too much, isn't it? Like, we get it, love is grand and devastating, move on already... But you can't deny the energy. It's flashy, it's chaotic, and it's got that specific kind of theatrical madness that makes you want to roll your eyes and cheer at the same time. Still, looking at it through a modern lens, it feels like a fever dream from a different era. A beautiful, exhausting, glitter-covered fever dream...

I don't know if you guys have read the book, or how much you liked it... personally, I thought it was beautiful! Her writing style, the way she lived through everything on the road and before it... honestly, the whole undertaking is pretty incredible when you think about it.
How many of us actually wake up in the morning with the actual determination to overhaul our entire lives? Most of us just leave our deepest desires sitting on a shelf somewhere, thinking, "yeah, I'll get to that one day"...

As for the movie, I'm not so sure how good it'll turn out... while the cast is absolutely stellar 👍, the director and the writers don't exactly inspire massive confidence in me... 👎 but we'll see... I'm crossing my fingers that it's at least half as good as the book!!!

Honestly, there’s no such thing as a good movie where nothing actually happens... if we're talking about those recent, mediocre flops where the plot just stalls out:
An Education (boring—way too slow even for a drama... it never really gets going, then it just... ends),
Dorian Gray (you think at first like things are finally heating up, but honestly? Even the "tense" parts are just soooo boring)
The last Harry Potter... (the only thing actually happening there is the special effects budget being blown)
Sex and the City (I can't even remember if there was a plot, or if they just spent two hours walking around in expensive rags??
