Acupuncture and weight loss in Health ·
An acquaintance of mine is currently undergoing the Emperor's treatment. The guy weighs about 240 pounds, yet this practitioner is prescribing him a breakfast consisting of a quarter of a pastry, a lunch of three servings of green beans, and a single banana for dinner. Honestly, I was floored when he told me that.
That is simply not how you lose weight healthily. Personally, I’ve always been a skeptic when it comes to "crash diets," regardless of whether they involve acupuncture or any other specialized therapy. In my view, everyone should just determine their own daily caloric limit and build a meal plan around it—focusing on foods that aren't cooked in heavy fats and prioritizing protein over carbohydrates. It really is that simple. Unfortunately, our calorie counts are ALWAYS set too low to actually leave us feeling satisfied.
From a purely phonetic standpoint, being unable to hit that perfect "r" sound is technically called rhoticism, and it’s often categorized as a speech impediment.
In reality, it’s usually just something you picked up as a kid—basically, you learned the wrong tongue placement early on and it just stuck. If it actually bothers you (even though most people find it charmingly unique), you could always go see a speech therapist.
