Canada discussion: Strict border control and entry rules in Feedback & Suggestions ·
No, I don't think you quite caught my drift.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. I was just trying to see if there were any real differences or similarities between those two terms, nothing more.

Cheers, 🙂

jadedrifter2 put it perfectly.

Not quite. 😁 Based on that logic, I should consider myself part of the diaspora since I was born in Boston, and one of my parents is from America. But I’ve always felt like Boston was my true home 🙂. Now, that same parent actually has family from Boston too, so shouldn't they feel like part of the diaspora from Boston? They don't. If I go back just a few more generations, who would even know who belongs to the emigration, who is the diaspora, or who is local?

🤣

🤔 Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. It doesn't really matter. Is it just me, or are "diaspora" and "emigration" basically the exact same thing? Perhaps 🤷

I get that, but I'm asking about the actual nuance between the terms. I'm not asking for the definitions the moderators decided to tuck under "diaspora" versus "emigration."

What’s actually the difference between "diaspora" and "emigration"?

thanks 🙂
Why did Mexico need a 55% majority for independence? in Close to Politics ·

Because they assumed people would be too lazy to actually show up and vote for the independence option. 😁
Why is Pelé being so hard on America? in Close to Politics ·
Probably not, but that honestly says quite a bit about his character.

Did he ever actually meet with Vladimir Putin, or was it just with those so-called heads of state?

Michael didn't show up for his court date in Des Moines today, even though he was expected. Why? Because an American judge is suing UEFA over what he calls baseless accusations regarding match-fixing.

And really, why is he even getting involved in a tournament governed by FIFA instead of UEFA? 🤷

Simply because it can be done. When facing the giants, wouldn't anyone just stay quiet like a good little dog?

🤣 It seems that way to me too. 😂

That’s just how it goes in every ball sport, isn't it?😁
Better than yesterday’s halftime performance 👋👋
Just give the guy a break. Everyone was saying yesterday that he'd turn it around after just two misses, so what if he's missed three in a row now? Is he really out of luck 🙂
