Tight-fitting shoes in Fashion ·
So, here’s the deal... about a week ago, I picked up some new shoes and everything seemed perfect. I tried them on, they felt amazing, zero pinching, so obviously, I grabbed them. But then, just a couple of days ago, I went to put them on and it’s like they shrunk overnight! They’re so tight now I can barely take two steps without them digging in. Does anyone know a trick to soften them up? I’ve already tried using Nivea and soaking some gauze in milk, but nothing is working. I even went up a size from my usual, so maybe my feet are just swollen, because I haven't been able to wear them for a few days now....🙂
thanks

A friend I've known for 20 years was in a massive car wreck exactly a year ago over in Manhattan. Basically, this guy—who calls himself a "friend"—was driving her home after a night out, and there were four other people in the car too. He refused to take a turn when she asked him to, slammed right into some guardrails, and she ended up being thrown from the vehicle. She suffered life-altering injuries to her heart, lungs, and brain. Paramedics rushed her to the Mayo Clinic where they operated on those organs, but they seemingly "overlooked" everything else—her arms and legs—which is why she’s struggling so much now because she can't move. She was in a coma for two months through the fall, and then went to Pennsylvania for rehab. She’s recovered a bit there; she can talk now and has some limited movement in her right arm and leg, but it’s very weak. Now, she’s been waiting months for hip surgery just so she can stand up, but she's stuck at the bottom of a massive waiting list. The guy who caused the crash had a 2.5 blood alcohol content and he hasn't faced any consequences at all...

So, I'm wondering what I can actually do to speed up this surgery and get her rehab moving? Her family doesn't have much money, and getting that surgery would finally let her walk and start recovering properly.
p.s. I have no clue how much a surgery like that even costs...

Any advice is appreciated 😁

I honestly think she could sue him. If she can prove it, legally speaking, he should be responsible for all her medical bills... nowadays in America, you can pretty much navigate your way through anything if you push hard enough. Just dig into the legal side of things, look up the laws, and stuff like that... I'm sure there's something out there. Years ago, I was in an accident myself. The guy driving wasn't drunk and nobody was seriously hurt, but he was terrified I might sue him, so just try doing some digging...
Has anyone tried Phase 2 yet? in Health ·
A friend was just telling me about how certain weight loss supplements or pills are actually banned in some parts of the country because they’re super dangerous for your health. It's pretty wild how much damage they can do... honestly, it feels like you really need to do your homework and double-check what you're actually putting into your body before you even think about starting them.
I remember hearing about those Reductil tablets—you take them, eat like you normally would, and the pounds just start dropping off. I even know a woman who lost a ton of weight using them, but now she’s just not herself anymore; it completely messed with her nerves. Well, I guess there's two sides to every coin, right?

Frank Campbell2 said:They didn't give me that Herplex stuff. I see it’s for herpes, though. Looks like we’re dealing with different issues because HPV is what’s bugging me. My doctor prescribed Klimicin vaginal cream instead. On top of that, I’ve been taking those Biobran tablets—they aren't prescription, but they run about $107 for a pack of 50. I take two a day. I also got some herbal tea for vaginal rinses from a herbalist, plus some aloe vera syrup and burdock root syrup. My CIN levels actually dropped from 2 down to 1, but I stopped everything because I'm pregnant.

My doctor gave me Herplex for the CIN, but for the HPV, she put me on Sumamed 500... I think she wants to tackle the CIN first so it doesn't turn into cervical cancer, then deal with the HPV later. I went to the pharmacy looking for those Biobran tablets, and the lady there said they were amazing and everyone is buying them. Meanwhile, my gynecologist just tells me it's all a huge waste of money... so now I'm stuck not knowing what to do. Let me know if you notice any results... fingers crossed it works. 👍 ...my OB/GYN mentioned that Dr. Grubisic is really great for CIN and HPV... I think he might be a bit blunt, though. Have you ever seen him?

Right now I'm using Herplex tablets, Herplex cream, and those Klimicin vaginal suppositories... I think that's what they're called. I haven't heard of those specific tablets you mentioned, but I picked up an Aloe Vera syrup from a wellness shop and I've been sipping on that lately, since everyone told me it’s great for giving your immune system a little boost. I haven't done a new Pap smear yet, but I'll probably get one scheduled in the next few days to see if anything is actually working. If not, I guess I'll give those tablets a shot. How much do those tablets run you? And which treatment did you end up going with?

Frank Campbell2, you’re totally hitting the nail on the head regarding the whole Dora situation... I mean, major props to every doctor out there, but honestly, I feel like there’s way too much cash changing hands in this industry. Personally, I see Dr. Magdić over at Mercy Hospital using my referral, and so far, I haven't had to shell out a dime—not for a colposcopy or any other exam... well, obviously except for the HPV stuff. I've been on the same treatment for four months now, just crossing my fingers for a full recovery. One time while I was waiting my turn, I ended up chatting with this woman who had Dr. Magdić clear up her CIN III in just five months, and now she just sticks to regular Pap smears. I’m headed in for my check-up soon, hoping for some better news on my results. The only real bummer is that she’s retiring in about a year... and man, I have no clue where I'm going to go after that. If you happen to know a solid doctor who handles HPV patients through insurance referrals, please let me know... I would be so incredibly grateful.

Frank Campbell2 said:After finding out I have HPV 16, I went to see Dr. Sherman at St. Jude’s. He did a colposcopy and repeated my Pap test, then scheduled me for a biopsy in two weeks. I am beyond nervous because I honestly don't know what he saw during that colposcopy or why he's sending me for a biopsy without a fresh Pap result.
Ladies, please tell me if any of you know how long a biopsy takes, if it hurts, and what the recovery is like?

I actually had a colposcopy done just last week. From what I understand about how gynecologists work, they use the colposcopy to check if they can spot any actual changes on the cervical tissue... if they see something, they send you for a biopsy. If they don't, they might just give you some treatment for the HPV. I actually spoke with Dr. Gudelj over the phone, and she mentioned that a colposcopy doesn't always catch certain specific changes, which is exactly why they do the biopsy. My doctor says one thing... Dr. Gudelj says another... so even I'm feeling a bit lost! But honestly, it's probably better to get the biopsy done so you have a clear answer rather than just sitting there wondering if things are getting worse. Good luck.

You can get an HPV test done at Virogen, which is right near the Quad. It’ll run you anywhere from $350 up to $167, depending on if they take the sample there or if you just bring in one from your own OB-GYN. You should have the results in about 10 to 15 days. Their number is 01 2319595... good luck!

And I really want to say thanks to all the ladies who replied to my question. I haven't had a chance to get back to you all until now... I was wondering if anyone could recommend a solid gynecologist who specializes in HPV and CIN issues? Unfortunately, Dr. Magdić is retiring soon, so I'm feeling a bit lost on where to turn next. I'm thinking about seeing Dr. Grujić, but I'm not sure if she takes referrals from primary care or if she actually focuses on this specific area. Anyway, thanks again for the help!

Hey everyone... I'm new here and was wondering if anyone has heard of Dr. Magdic over at Mount Sinai? Word on the street is she’s incredible when it comes to treating women, and apparently even men dealing with HPV? If anyone has any insight or personal experiences, please let me know... thanks in advance!
