Looks like Mike Tyson vs Evander Holyfield is off before summer in Martial Arts & Combat Sports ·
Look, folks: ever since Mirko stepped away from politics and the movie business, he’s been training harder than I ever thought possible. Honestly, at this point, Mirko is easily the most prepared and dangerous fighter in the MMA game.

I truly believe he could go toe-to-toe and absolutely wreck minotaur, Fedor, or even that massive Russian heavyweight!

Daniel Chavez14 said:Yeah, I guess I should remind everyone here that I was actually the one who first cooked up this whole MMF (Minotaur-Mirko-Fedor) triangle theory. This was way back before Mirko even stepped into the cage against minotaur. Now, suddenly, it feels like everyone is acting like they came up with it themselves. 😳 🙂

Exactly! I remember that clearly!

So, here's a thought. Tomorrow, when you're stuck on the Greyhound, grab one of those big-ass boomboxes and just blast "Sick of It All" at full volume. Let them hear it.

Matthew Gonzalez15 said:I’d tell anyone to just go for it, obviously. It’s only about $33 and there's still some time left.

What do you mean by "about $33"???
I'm lost here...

Do you actually know what the admissions process looks like? Is it just a standard exam, or are they expecting you to turn in some kind of portfolio or project too??

Just four or six people...
And then there's her...

Doesn't matter. I'm thinking if I just play my cards right, I might actually make the cut.

So, I’ve been chewing on this idea of applying to the Juilliard School by the end of the year—maybe as an extra credit thing, or just a regular enrollment if life forces my hand.
I'm looking at directing, specifically film and TV, so I wanted to see if anyone in this group has actually gone through the ringer with a directing degree or at least gave it a shot.
What’s the acceptance rate look like? What kind of gauntlet is the entrance exam? Honestly, any intel or actual useful advice would be a lifesaver right about now.

Film is the goal. My English is solid, and I can hold my own with Adobe Premiere Pro, though I'd say my skills there are pretty middle-of-the-road.

Thanks!

Mirko Cro Cop is going to knock him out cold!

So, does anyone actually know the exact date the fight is happening?

Mirko Cro Cop is taking on Mark Coleman!
What's the consensus here???
Mixed Martial Arts in Indianapolis? in Martial Arts & Combat Sports ·
A bit old... 68... but I've still got some life in me. I can hold my own in a scrap against guys up to 80 without breaking much of a sweat. Once they hit 85, though? Yeah, I’m giving it everything I’ve got just to stay level, and even then, I can barely catch them. Anything north of 90... well, at that point, I'm just trying to survive the night. 😁

What about you?

Zachary Bennett3 said:Take my neighbor, for instance. He’s a brown belt, and at his school, they only teach the stuff that actually "works" during official Judo matches. So, things like throws and chokes? They just skip over them.

I don't know... honestly, I'm at a loss for words here.
If someone can pull off a throw in Mixed Martial Arts—and I always bring up Fedor because the guy was a Russian Judo champion—then clearly that Judo technique had to be learned somewhere. Why do you think it doesn't work in a match?? The thing is, you only ever see Judo on TV during the World Championships or the Olympics. And even then, they usually only broadcast the medal rounds. The chances of seeing someone land a clean throw are slim because the athletes are just too damn good.

Zero ground fighting??
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu actually has WAY MORE grappling techniques than Judo does!!

It really ought to be Judo and Mixed Martial Arts. I mean, look, Indianapolis isn't exactly some tiny little town; there’s no way they don't have at least one decent Judo or wrestling club tucked away somewhere.

Strawweight: up to 104 lbs.

So, how tall are these Strawweight guys actually? If they're built like typical Boxers, they probably don't clear five feet tall.

The site looks fine. Does anyone actually know the weight limit for the "strawweight" division in Boxing? I’ve seen flyweight and junior Flyweight mentioned, but I'm lost on this one. 🙏 😂

First off, it’s almost... well, it’s basically Miroslav, but let's just call him "almost." Almost, almost, almost—and of course, there's Miroslav himself! Honestly, he's someone I absolutely Apple. I've actually had a few dreams where I finally took him out, and I have to tell you, I didn't feel even a shred of remorse while it was happening.
How to gain weight? in Health ·
Frank Lee6 said:You’re being a little contradictory here. On one hand, you’re recommending "Mega Mass" as a supplement—which, let’s be honest, is basically just straight protein—but then you turn around and tell people not to "drink protein." Plus, you’re tossing them all into the same bucket as anabolic steroids, acting like there's no difference between the two.

Yeah, yeah... alright, fine. I’ll admit it. I totally blew it. But look, you can't deny that Mega Mass is packed with carbs and amino acids!
How to gain weight? in Health ·
Alright, here’s a foolproof tactic for you:
1. Wake up in the morning, grab some cookies, and take a supplement. (Look, I'm talking about stuff like Mega Mass or weight gainers, but don't go touching any anabolic crap or proteins—and don't even get me started on steroids). Always mix it with milk.
2. Then, once you're at work, school, or college, make sure you eat your lunch box.
3. For lunch, eat a ton. Potatoes, meat, pasta, salad, eggs... and definitely go for whole grain or at least black bread since it's got the good fiber.
After lunch, knock back a Mega Mass.
4. A light snack—maybe some fruit or a pastry.
5. For dinner, here’s my secret recipe: grab a can of Rio Mare tuna. Throw that tuna into a blender with two slices of cheese, half a packet of mayo, a little bit of butter (just a small cube), and a few drops of lemon juice. Blitz it all together and spread it on some whole wheat bread. Once that's done, drink a Mega Mass.
Since you can't live on this every single day, try eating as many eggs as you can for dinner every now and then. But WITHOUT the yolks!!! You can handle maybe 2 yolks, but trying to eat 8 would be way too much.

Of course, you’ve gotta hit the gym for mass training (heavy weights, low reps). When you're training, drink a Mega Mass two hours before you start and half an hour after you finish. Obviously, you aren't going to drink Mega Mass with three meals plus twice around your workout. Mega Mass is meant to be taken three times a day, so if you're hitting the gym, you just have it after breakfast, before the gym, and after the gym.
Need help picking a martial art? Any suggestions? in Martial Arts & Combat Sports ·
Well, that really depends on what you’re actually looking for!
If your goal is just getting in killer shape and building raw physical strength, you can't go wrong with judo, wrestling, jiu-jitsu, taekwondo, or even karate.
Now, if you have that itch to actually get out there and compete, stick to judo, wrestling, karate, or taekwondo.
But, if you're chasing some kind of spiritual or moral enlightenment—looking for that deeper connection—then aikido or any variety of kung-fu is probably more your speed.
If you want to learn how to actually defend yourself (I mean real-world street survival, not that choreographed "if he hits me, I hit him" nonsense), then boxing and kickboxing are solid choices. They aren't technically "martial arts" in the traditional sense, but they work for self-defense. You should also consider judo, wrestling, jiu-jitsu, or karate. Honestly, karate might be your best bet since it isn't always full-contact, yet you still walk away with a decent understanding of how to fight.
