Finally, Sergio Garcia gets his big win at The Masters 👍
The third Spaniard to take it down, following Seve Ballesteros and José María Olazábal. Major props to Jordan Rose too for an incredible run and fighting hard until the end.
Catch this tonight on ABC. I want to give it a little hype because it flew under the radar in theaters. It’s airing on TVu tonight, though you might have to fight the urge to switch over to ESPN Handball at the same time. Personally, I’ve been a fan of Nuić ever since I saw his work on that trilogy Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll. His segment was a genuine masterpiece of American cinema, even if it didn't get the credit it deserved.
Anyway, highly recommend watching this movie. We rarely get these kinds of warm, feel-good stories made here in the States 👍
He used to be an assistant coach before they let him go. Then he landed a gig doing radio calls. Sounds like he was still bitter about losing his coaching job, because he started feeding the other team the game plan. 🤣 🤣
The big question is how he even got his hands on the playbook in the first place.
Not much to debate here. The Americans were just better all three days and earned that win. They had plenty of momentum, and even some of the guys coming from behind like Snedeker and Koepka played great.
On the European side, too many players looked either shaky or just completely out of form. Westwood, Willett, Sullivan, and Fitzpatrick didn't show up at all. Kaymer managed to snag the first point on Sunday when things were already wrapped up. At least Pieters and Cabrer Bella put up some decent numbers. Actually, with 4 points total, Pieters was the standout performer for both teams.
Jumping in here too. I missed this morning's rounds, just catching up on the report now. Things could have gone a different way; Garcia and Kaymer really caught fire over those last seven holes, while Sullivan and McIlroy only started slipping near the end.
It’s tough—it feels almost impossible for the US to claw their way out of this hole. It looks like the Americans are playing with a serious chip on their shoulder after all those losses and letdowns over the last few years. The US team is missing someone like Poulter; he always knew exactly how to get under the skin of the Americans. 😳
Since ESPN lost the broadcasting rights, there hasn't been as much eyes on the league this year. In the finals, we saw New York City pull it off after yesterday's convincing win over Green Bay, followed by Cleveland Browns clinching a wild finish against the Dallas Cowboys, 89:83. Now, it’s the Browns waiting for us in the championship—they haven't hoisted a trophy since 1954.
The Super Bowl kicks off next Saturday (10/1) at the usual early morning slot, 6:30 AM.
Steven Torres41 said:Actually, you've got me curious about the sport itself. What's the big tournament I should watch to really get into it? I have Golf Channel, is the crew there good at teaching the ropes (kind of like how the guys on ESPN got me into Pool), or should I look for something else?
Golf Channel is totally fine.
The four big Major Championships for this year are already done. Think of them like the Grand Slam in tennis. They are: Masters US Open British Open PGA Championship

So, I work for a Bitcoin prediction market. Every now and then, I have to manually settle some bets that didn't clear automatically, but right now I'm stuck because these are tied to a sport I don't really follow. I've got four of them here, all related to the PGA Championship:
36-hole cut line—Over/Under 144.5 Looking at the lowest completed round—Over/Under 64.5. Number of players under par after 72 holes - Over/Under 16.5 Total score for the 72 holes—Over/Under 271.5.
I tried digging through the results on the official website, but honestly, I can't make heads or tails of it. If anyone's got a spare minute to walk me through how this all works, I’d really appreciate the help.
What kind of nonsense are you even playing at?
So, this is it. Leaderboard The data table. Check out the current standings at the PGA Championship here: http://www.pga.com/pgachampionship/scoring/leaderboard
36-hole cut score - Over/Under 144.5 Tournaments run for four days. After round two, the field gets split—half the players move on, while the rest get sent home. That’s what they call the cut. In this case, the cut was at... 144So, basically... Under.
Lowest completed round - Over/Under 64.5 Best round played. That number represents the total strokes taken to finish the round. Lower score means a better round. So, Lowest round finished.Streb had a solid second round. 63 It’s all about the impact. Meaning... Under.
Looking at the field for the final round. I'm eyeing the number of players finishing under par after all 72 holes are played. Setting my line at Over/Under 16.5. Each round covers 18 holes, making it 72 holes total. Finishing under par means you wrap up those four days below the course standard. Basically, anyone sitting in the negatives counts. There were actually quite a few players like that here. 55 The player. Meaning... Over.
Predicting the winner's 72-hole total. Over/Under 271.5. So, looking at the winner's total strokes. Walker had... 266 Strikes. Basically. Under.
I tuned in last night too. I check the leaderboard and see Langer right there. Felt like I stepped into a time warp—is Langer still playing, and still contending? 🙏
Spieth dropped three strokes on those last two holes. Things could get real interesting in the final round 👍
1 - Jordan Spieth -3 2 - Smylie Kaufman -2 T3 - Hideki Matsuyama -1 T3 - Bernhard Langer -1 T5 - Dustin Johnson E T5 - Jason Day E T5 - Danny Willett E T8 - Lee Westwood +1 T8 - Brandt Snedeker +1 T8 - Soren Kjeldsen +1
Does anyone know what the box office numbers were for this movie? Based on how many people are actually talking about it here, it looks like it totally flew under the radar. It's a shame, though. The movie is honestly great.
The stars of 'life is a highway' are a laid-back jazz trumpeter and his wife. Their families end up being way more alike than you'd think just looking at where they come from.
Family gatherings are perfect for settling old grudges or starting fresh ones. This movie shows two big ones. There's a wedding and then dinner on Christmas Eve. The groom—our main guy—is this chill jazz musician trying to play peacemaker between his butcher dad, his gambling brother, and his mom, who’s a retired accountant. His new wife and her eccentric parents really step up to help him out.
Just walked out of the theater with a massive grin. America finally has its own Christmas classic. Honestly, this feels like Nuić's best work yet, though his previous stuff was solid too. It's a great, bittersweet story with those pre-holiday vibes.
