Grace Kelly44 said:If we're lucky—and I use that term loosely—maybe a few of these guys will kick the bucket before then, and we can finally stop worrying about this tour being postponed forever. ☕

I think you're being way too optimistic here—Richards just had major brain surgery, and honestly, thinking he'll be back on his feet in just a few weeks is a total stretch. 😬
Just saw this headline scrolling on the news: The Stones are pushing back the start of their European tour.
British vs. American punk? in Music ·
The Ramones anthology booklet has this one shot of them hanging out with the Clashovacs—it was taken during their 1976 tour over in the UK. You can totally tell who was trying to suck up to whom first 😬
gentlepuma20 said:seriously guys—are you even reading this forum or what?😁

Give me a break with those clichés. 😬

I might as well just go jump off a bridge at this point. 😳

Fine, whatever—I get it, it was a blast, happy now? Are you all satisfied?
Daniel Bailey7 said:So, seriously—not even one shot of any naked women? Total letdown. 🤔

I can handle just about anything—honestly—but if you tell me they actually showed up at the concert, I’m gonna lose it. Seriously. 😳

Just kidding. 😁

I saw Thomas back in the day when he was playing in Georgia. Even then, I had this sinking feeling that time had already caught up to him—and honestly, nobody convinced me otherwise before this show. Now that I've actually seen the whole band live at the spider venue? I don't know... just underwhelming. It was actually pretty good—honestly.I don't see anyone acting even remotely excited about this—seriously. 😕
Why hasn't this thread pumped me up enough to actually hit up Ubu?

1. A teller at JP Morgan Chase 👍

So this lady starts chatting me up one day—thinks I'm a Midwesterner or something. I tell her, yeah—born and raised in Indianapolis! She says she's from there too, which is how she guessed, but then she adds that my accent sounds weird, more like someone from a small town in Indiana. It just hit me—I've been seeing this girl from Vinkovci for two years now, so she definitely rubbed off on me 😁. What a joke

Carol Jackson45 said:I feel like Freud could have a lot to say about this one... 😬

Tonight (in about an hour) there’s a special on ABC—it's that "second format" show—diving into Freud and the belly button. 😁
If I actually respected the musical taste of the people I hang out with in real life, I wouldn't even be bothering with this forum 😬

Luckily, there are actually some folks here whose taste I (actually) vibe with 👍

gentlepuma20 said:One thread compares Mozart to Cave, then another one claims Metal Box is Pop-punk. Honestly, it's time for Allah to just wipe this whole forum off the face of the earth.

Look, I was just making a harmless jab at X-Type—he’s the one who started all these ridiculous comparisons in the first place.

BTW, Cave himself said ages ago that his big inspirations are Mozart's Requiem, Elvis (specifically that Las Vegas era👍), and William Faulkner.

I really hope Allah hears you on that one.😈

haha, I bet you and Mr. Wrong have some cheap little metal ashtray split right down the middle—each of you grabbing half—just to save space.😬

By the way—hot. [link]

And what else? one

Mr. Wrong said:So, we’re talking about this in the context of Pop-punk? Seriously? 😁

And why the hell not?

Albatross and Chant basically paved the way by injecting pure punk energy straight into dance music—honestly, even Madonna would be jealous of those tracks.😁 Remember that cover from her Erotica book—man, what a trip.

Kevin Chavez3 said:Man, you actually read Georg Gimarc's book

Back in '77, Georg Gimarc basically birthed Alternative Rock in San Francisco—one of the first punk radio shows on the planet. It ran for a solid 14 years, and he pulled hundreds of interviews with all the big punk legends. His massive 900-page Book even comes with a bonus CD featuring about 30 of those interviews👍 It's sitting at $15 on Amazon, which is honestly a steal. He also did some punk shows on VH1 with Rotten later on.

But honestly? What really blew my mind about this guy is that his collection includes something like 65,000 albums—mostly punk.🙏

Eh, and since I brought up Rotten, I gotta say—PIL's "Metal Box" is an absolute masterpiece. That record is legendary.😁

stormyviper11 said:😠 🙂 🙂 Nothing is ever too expensive for a Sandokan fan!

It wasn't about being stubborn—they totally knew some Sandokan fanatic wouldn't be able to resist, so they jacked up the price to double what the other singles went for!😠 but to admit, it's an absolute anthem against the establishment😁

I've got them, though you'll definitely find stuff to download online somewhere:
Idiot: O bella ciao
The Ramones: Bandier Ross

If you're just looking to party, I remember about 25 years ago people used to go absolutely wild to that last track😬—way harder than they do to any of this modern pop garbage today.

If this is for some college thesis or whatever, I can get you in touch with my uncle. Back in the mid-70s, he recorded a ton of albums featuring partisan songs with a US Army choir over at Madison Square Garden.

You can also check out this link to download "Ivo Lola," which used to be a massive hit by Korn😬

Over at Freebird, they often have that Elvis Presley single "Druže Tito mi ti se kunemo" for $2.25. Just move fast, because it always sells out instantly😬. Last time I was there, I even saw the "Sandokan" single, but it was way too pricey for me.

Look, it’s just a matter of taste—but for me, Carter USM just doesn't cut it. They don't even fit into the broader punk scene, let alone what I'd call tolerable music at all.😁

Kevin Chavez3 said:Man, you seriously need to go listen to Bow Wow Wow. ☕

I'm actually sticking to the topic here—for once.😁 If you forgot: Pop punk—honestly, what a mess. I was listening to some old Blink-182 tracks the other day and just started rolling my eyes at how much everything has changed since the early days. It’s all gone so polished now! Bands. Seriously? Just "bands." That’s all we’re doing here? Give me something to actually work with—I've got a list of favorites longer than a CVS receipt and I'm ready to fight anyone who disagrees.

Go read Georg Gimarc's Punk Diary—it's basically the ultimate trainspotter's guide to Underground Rock from 1970 to 1982—and you'll be just as baffled as I am that he actually included Bow Wow Wow in there. Honestly? He needs to write a sequel immediately. Throw Carter USM and Hüsker Dü in there and just scramble them all together—it'd be just as chaotic!😬

God, where did you even find this? Back in college, I used to constantly fight with my roommate whenever he’d blast 30 Something. It’s actually the only band I ever saw live where I 😁wasn't even really there😕. I ran into a friend in the lobby of the Small Sports Arena, and we ended up spending the whole time at that dive bar in the corner of the arena—then ninety minutes later, we just look at each other like, "Wait, was it over already?"😈 Man, if I’d known they were recording it for a live album, I would’ve popped in for a second just to make sure they caught one of my loud-ass swear words on tape.
