Technically speaking, the man operates as a solo artist, if we're being formal about it.

Transvision Vamp and The Primitives feel more like bubblegum pop to me,
I'm honestly not sure if I would even categorize them in that same group.

I'm not too familiar with The Primitives, but I know Transvision Vamp—they lean much more toward bubblegum rock.

Alright, since everyone here considers themselves such an expert,
who do you actually consider the true icons of pop punk?

Superchunk and Agent Orange are absolute classics. I’m hearing the Pixies being categorized as pop punk for the first time, but honestly, it makes sense—certain tracks definitely fit the vibe, like "Alec Eiffel," "Debaser," "Allison," and "Gigantic."
I’ve never really delved into G.G. Allin, and as for the Buzzcocks, I wouldn't call them pop punk either; they strike me as pure punk rock.

I haven't got a clue. No idea at all. said:The Pixies? Yeah. They basically invented the blueprint for everything we call pop punk today. It’s wild when you actually sit down and listen to them. You hear that loud-quiet-loud dynamic they mastered? That’s the DNA of every basement band from New Jersey to California. Without them, the whole genre might have just stayed stuck in the seventies. They brought that raw, jagged energy that made everyone want to pick up a guitar and start making noise. It's all there. Pure influence. 😲

So what are we talking about here? Grunge?🙂
