China's economy: What's the move? in Formula 1 ·
rustystag7 said:I still don't quite get why Massa gets so much hate...

Look, they brought in Fernando Alonso—but even if they’d stuck with Massa as their lead driver, they wouldn't have missed the mark...

Massa didn't exactly shine today..
In my honest opinion, he just isn't on the same level as Fernando Alonso or Lewis Hamilton (out of the active drivers 😁), or even Jenson Button..
He’d need a whole lot of things to fall perfectly into place just to stand a chance at fighting for the top spot..

Now this—this is interesting... ☕
If the old man actually gets a car built exactly to his liking, things might finally start looking up..😁

Man, how deep that conspiracy rabbit hole goes... we could be debating that for hours.😁

Honestly, McLaren's sheer pace and dominance on the straights was just terrifying..😲

Overall, it was a pretty decent race..☕😁
I'm actually quite glad I recorded it, so I can sit back and watch it again at my own pace later..
As for penalties, in my opinion, nobody really deserved one today... Alonso got his, sure, but the idea that he was trying to cheat is just nonsense—the chances of pulling that off are basically zero. People were just high-strung at the start; he was aiming for that perfect millisecond right as the red lights went out, missed it, took the standard penalty, and that was that..☕

To pivot slightly to the team I’m rooting for:
Nico Rosberg: Such a shame about that mistake that cost him his position—he was driving brilliantly otherwise. As for getting overtaken by Lewis Hamilton 🙏 it's a pity Lewis managed to jump him in the pits; that could have been a really fine battle through to the finish line..
Michael Schumacher: There were definitely moments where he showed that old veteran grit.. specifically when he held Lewis Hamilton up for two laps while using a car that was about 3 seconds slower.. towards the end of the race, he clearly hit a bit of a rough patch since Felipe Massa built a lead of over 4 seconds in a single lap.. he can do better than that, and I truly believe he will..☕
It's a shame Blaž didn't wrap things up with that comment regarding Rosberg's grandfather..

The rest:
Robert Kubica and Vitaly Petrov 👍
Red Bull: Pretty mediocre..
Fernando Alonso 👍
Felipe Massa 🤦
And that's about all from me, thanks for reading..😁

Bradley Nelson2 said:I honestly think we just need to give him some breathing room. People are already jumping to conclusions about how much of a letdown he is—saying he was stuck right on Rosberg's tail during the first race and then struggled through the last two—but it’s really not that deep. He isn't slow by any means. When you consider his age and the fact that he's coming off a three-year hiatus, I'd say he's doing just fine.

And honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he went with a wet-weather setup today..🤷

Imagine how much he'd hate being stuck with some fancy sparkling water instead of actual alcohol..🤣
It's hard to truly celebrate when you can't even toast to a victory with a proper drink, right?😁

The rule changes have basically forced everyone's tactics into a corner—everyone is doing the exact same thing now.
Up until recently, you could actually play the game a bit with tire management or fuel loads. Pit stops used to be where the real drama happened—it kept things interesting. Now? That's pretty much gone.

The drivers were just churning out laps, and honestly, today's finish was a perfect illustration of the massive speed gaps between the cars and the drivers.
It’s simple math: take the tenths of a second difference per lap, multiply it by the total number of laps, and there you have it.
The gaps are just too wide, which doesn't give us much to cheer about if we were hoping for some nail-biting action.

The race was so incredibly dull that I actually found myself reading the newspaper to pass the time...☕

If you ask me, there's a very simple way to fix this boredom and the lack of overtaking on track:
Get rid of qualifying entirely. Set the starting grid based on the championship standings—so the leader starts dead last, the runner-up starts second to last, and so on, until the points leader is at the front. Then, let's say the first row is occupied by HRT fans, the second by Virgin supporters, and the third by the Lotus fans... now *that* would certainly spice up the overtaking!☕

as for this thread 🙏
it’s been a while since I really went off on a topic like this..😂
Robert Cruz5 said:Regarding what Cervar did the other day—I’m telling you, that was a calculated move. It was a pact. He basically told the players, "Look, I'm taking the heat for you guys. I've got your backs, so now it's your turn to step up and justify why I brought you all here in the first place." And that's exactly how it played out.

😂😂😂😂😂
Actually, I don't think he did that because he's some selfless leader—it's more likely he did it because he's an egocentric type who just can't handle being criticized...🙄

Morgan Murphy7 said:I honestly don't know anyone who actually roots for Red Bull Racing—and you really have to respect that kind of loyalty! 🙏 🙏 🙏

Actually, there are still a few of us left pulling for Red Bull Racing... myself included! 😁👍
To be fair, I’ve always had a bit more of a soft spot for Mark Webber—but hey, I can handle it when the underdog takes the win too. 😁

That said, Kimi Räikkönen is definitely my top pick as a driver. Honestly, if they could just put Kimi Räikkönen and Mark Webber together in a Red Bull Racing car, that would be the dream lineup. 👍 I don't know—I saw a clip of Kimi sipping on a Red Bull, so maybe that's some subtle hint about a potential transfer? 😁 A swap involving Sebastian Vettel-Kimi Räikkönen would make everyone happy... well, except maybe TBF1D. 😁

On a side note, I really felt for Adrian Sutil—the guy went off track once at the absolute worst possible moment. And man, Denis Hemić was spinning around like he was on a carnival ride, and still couldn't find any grip.

I haven't seen anything quite like this before...
I mean, honestly, when the races are that dull, who can blame him?😁
Absolute legend...🙏
Even though he's behind the wheel of a Ferrari, I'm definitely pulling for Kimi as a driver—especially since I'm rooting for Red Bull as a team.👍

This race could get pretty interesting...
From what I can tell, Brawn's cars look heavier than the ones leading the pack—with Kimi and Hamilton lurking somewhere up there—and I’m genuinely curious to see how those heavyweights, Heikki Kovalainen, Felipe Massa, and Piquet, handle their driving..🤷
That said, I'm really looking forward to seeing Kimi finally show his true colors now that he's running without KERS..😁
By the way, I caught an interview the other day where Kimi admitted he actually drifted off for a split second right before the start of his very first Formula 1 race! Luckily, he woke up just in time..🤣🤣The man is a total legend..🙏🙏
feralcanyon73 said:They’d be right where they are even with the Honda engines.☕

Well, I guess we'll just never know...☕
The reality of the situation is that we have Mercedes engines under the hood now, and Brawn GP is exactly where they ended up—period. Anything else you want to throw into the mix is just pure "what if" territory, which, let's be honest, borders on science fiction.
vividlynx68 said:I'd much rather be sitting in on the next Honda board meeting than watching the race 😁😁😁

Why though?🤷
I have my doubts that Brawn GP would even be where they are today if they were still running those Honda engines... 🤣🤣
At this point, Mercedes is basically the heart of the car... 😁
All they need to do now is change the team colors... 👍

I’ve been meaning to give this one another watch lately...
So, I’m sitting there watching, really getting into it, when I suddenly notice a few scenes have just... vanished. My first thought was, okay, maybe the signal just cut out or my streaming service glitched and skipped ahead a bit.
But then it happened again—another jump right during a sequence involving some intense action and explosions. That’s when it clicked: ABC must have censored the whole thing. Honestly, doing something like that in the 21st century—and without even a heads-up or a content warning at the start—is just wild.👎👎👎👎👎 If I had realized how much they butchered the footage beforehand, I probably would have skipped it entirely. The way they've sanitized it is honestly pretty terrible...👎👎👎
