Man, I've been eyeing it online for years, so I finally pulled the trigger and grabbed

@ Jamie Ramos10 - You weren't even at Nirvana - Madison Square Garden 10.06.2010., you were basically stuck in some tiny side room somewhere inside the venue, so stop talking nonsense.
amberorca14 said:Seriously, what is wrong with people?
They just absolutely crushed it.
After thirty years, they still rip harder than a bunch of teenage garage bands.
First time seeing them in the States.
The setlist was killer.
People even traveled in from Canada, Mexico, and all over the East Coast.

But nobody wants to actually break a sweat.🤷

Finally figured it out—someone already pointed this out in the thread yesterday.😁

Kenneth Collins8 said:...and honestly, I’d rather it NOT be sold out. I don't want to be shoved around at my favorite band's show by a crowd of idiots who only know two and a half Killing Joke songs... and yeah, obviously one of them is Love Like Blood...😠

I should probably mention that I couldn't understand why nobody was moshing, throwing hands up, or even singing along.
The vibe was basically a funeral.

Though, to be fair, I stopped caring about the crowd after the first couple of songs.
amberorca14 said:The only downside was the crowd—totally stoned (probably from lack of social life)

It honestly felt like 90% of the people just wandered into the wrong venue by mistake.

I didn't expect such a massive turnout at all. The vibe was pretty rough, but the actual set was killer.

The new material sounded great live, so I definitely agree with:
Benjamin Ruiz60 said:I also found it a bit hard to get into the new tracks sometimes due to that Jazz influence, but man, those rhythms are seriously good.
blueranger12 said:So basically half of the first album. Unbelievable.

I’ve honestly only stuck to Night Time up until now, and they don't even include any tracks from there. Half of the first album? Now I actually have to go listen to 🙄

.

Night Time is definitely the easiest one to get into—at least for me—but it gets so overwhelming that I can't stand listening to it anymore. It’s probably my least favorite at this point.

In my opinion, the first album is hands down the best, followed closely by the second.
The third and fourth are also killer, and I'd throw some of the newer stuff in there too, but I won't ramble on forever.

Just a heads up though, I tend to view albums as complete works since almost every record has a few standout tracks.

edit: things are about to get crazy

I don't know how far back you were thinking, but just so you know, the Eighties played back in 2008.

Love Like Blood was last year.

amberorca14 said:The Eighties tracks aren't even on the setlist
And honestly, neither is Love Like Blood, plus a bunch of other stuff. Still, looks like it's gonna be killer regardless.

I haven't even checked out the new album yet, but even that isn't getting much playtime according to the list.

My bad for double posting, just trying not to clog up the server.

Honestly, it’s probably better if they skip the Eighties stuff, Love Like Blood, AND the new album. Just keep it moving.
Huge props to the organizers here
Seriously, there’s no place I’d rather be than seeing Killing Joke in the States right now
Total respect, man, absolutely legendary
frozentinker432 said:Oh please, how can a group's "best concert ever" be a band they’ve literally never heard of, let alone listened to? 😕 Or maybe they've only been to like one and a half shows in their entire life... or maybe they just REALLY freaking love confetti. I'm crossing my fingers for the latter.

I don't see what's so weird about that?
Sometimes you just discover new music live and it totally blows your mind.
Though, honestly, it would make more sense if Massive Attack was his best show so far, because I don't think anyone could stay indifferent to a sound like that—even if it was their first time hearing them. (Then again, when I remember those people walking away from a Bicep set without even blinking, just heading straight home, I guess anything is possible)

As for my absolute favorite concert, a buddy of mine mentioned them maybe a month prior; he listened to a few tracks, went absolutely feral, and was jumping through the whole show at a packed venue. And get this—there isn't even a single video of it on YouTube yet, despite how crowded the place was. (Honestly, I feel like camera access should be banned at shows; I can't stand those crowds. The absolute worst ones push to the very front just to film 🤮)

Dude, we're talking about the music here...

🤣🤣🤣
Seriously, what have you been drinking? Or eating? Because that is wild.
Yeah, but it was recorded on some phone or a crappy camera with a terrible mic

Henry Mitchell29 said:honestly, I was just lost in the mix.
There were some guys with terrible "jokes." Just total idiots.
Then there was this high-strung "rocker" swearing his head off because of the delays.
Some weirdly tense women, too.
And people just bickering with each other.
Or crowds just standing around explaining to one another who the hell Masivac is.🤷

The crowd energy was pretty underwhelming at first.😁
But once Masivac really cranked up the vibe, the mob finally woke up—hands in the air, going wild. Sound was solid, though maybe a bit much during those massive song climaxes. Overall, pretty killer. 😁

that’s why I stayed out on the pavement😁 — the sound is perfect and you don't have people breathing down your neck. It's not like these people are prone to losing their minds anyway; you just get lost in the music with that kind of production.
But look, you aren't there for the mosh pit, you're there for the band, so my advice? Next time, just dive into the thick of it and stop worrying about getting bumped.😉
The Flaming Lips absolutely crushed it
Flogging Molly were freaking amazing, though I was just some kid heading home around midnight—I had an exam at 9 AM the next day, so I cut it short. But man, I stopped by the Massive Attack set and caught about five or six songs. The sound quality was terrible, honestly, which was a huge step up from when they played Madison Square Garden and sounded like absolute trash. The lyrics they projected on the wall, though? Top tier. 😁
Something like—"Dikan wants to shove things down my throat"😳

The day before wasn't anything special, but Billy was totally fine for me. He absolutely killed it during the encore

Honestly, the Flaming Lips alone made the ticket price worth it$97 and considering Massive Attack was on the bill too, that price actually feels pretty cheap compared to the rest of the lineup
Megan Jones27 said:Yeah, right... sounds great, except I haven't even decided if I'm going yet because I'm still checking schedules with a friend. She’d probably only be down for Tuesday or maybe Wednesday, which honestly doesn't feel worth the hassle to me. I'd rather just sell my tickets and make at least $233, instead of heading out there, blowing my last $150, and only catching maybe two or three acts I actually care about while some other person stays all three days for the whole lineup.

You're basically just thinking out loud here, and nobody really cares if you show up or not.
Arthur Barnes posted an ad saying he'll take offers via DM for tickets, so he might actually buy them.
http://www.coachella.com/ground-zero
more but I definitely earned it
Arthur Barnes said:just DM me a price for the ticket so I can actually make up my mind🙏

I don't even know what a DM is, but here's 500 slaps for you😉
Guess I can just bring my own wine then; I'll just tell everyone it's fancy grape juice 😁
Honestly, that rain from two years ago totally set the mood for me
I’m just praying we get a massive hailstorm this year 🤣
Go ahead and keep sniffing them 🙂
Bryan Hughes61 said:Not really.
It's more about Alice in Chains...

Why the eye roll though?

Then again, maybe the other days will actually be better since I haven't really listened to those bands before...

Well, you did bring it up, tbh

That's kind of like mentioning the kickoff party when talking about the main event.
