We’re incredibly lucky to have been born where we were, but that stability didn't just manifest out of thin air; people bled to secure it. It’s honestly laughable to hear claims that things are harder elsewhere, considering that until about fifty years ago, there wasn't a single year of peace in Europe... 🤣 and that goes back all the way to the Roman Empire, a solid two thousand years... 🤣
There’s a great quote that perfectly captures the current state of affairs in Europe, though I can't pull it up right now since I'm on my phone... I'll find it later over some :kava;
People definitely need help, without a doubt. At the same time, we really ought to keep a close eye on who is actually arriving, which are all valid concerns... and the people asking these questions aren't "racists, bigots, or haters," despite what so many people seem to imply.
And if everything south and east of Europe is essentially a disaster zone from which everyone will be fleeing in the coming years, that seems pretty obvious. The West isn't to blame for this situation... so let's please stop with the liberal nonsense about how the West exploits poor nations. The entire world has been under Western influence in one way or another, and by the year 2016, some countries actually look worse than they did back in 1616, while others are doing better than Europe itself.
They aren't heading to the Arab world because they aren't being allowed in...
And honestly, life is better in Germany or Sweden, so I can't say I blame them. It’s not my business—I’m neither Swabian nor Swedish—but they're watching their own neighborhoods turn into slums, not ours...🙂
This number is negligible; the US could absorb all of Syria without even noticing, whether they turn out to be highly successful or complete failures, they would simply be swallowed up by the population. The real issue is that the populations in Africa and Asia are exploding like weeds, yet they lack any of the necessary infrastructure to support such numbers; instead of implementing population control, they just keep multiplying. Only the Chinese seemed to have a sensible policy. It’s easy to talk when we're discussing 10 million coming to the US, but what happens when it becomes 100, 200, or 300 million? Half a billion? Certain African nations could hit over 500 million people by the year 2100... 🤣they will overwhelm the entire West
I couldn't care less personally—I'll be dead soon enough—but it is certainly something worth considering in the long term...
I recall a certain scene from a movie—the title escapes me, so I’ll have to look it up... they managed to absolutely wreck the largest video rental chain in the States by ordering about a million copies of that specific film 🤣
