Hallucinations in Health ·
Sure, it’s a matter of semantics—you lose your sense of direction entirely. But what I really want to know is how many other young people are dealing with this at that age.
Hallucinations in Health ·
What percentage of young adults aged 18-25 experience auditory hallucinations? Is this just a normal part of development or something rare
I'm looking for serious answers from medical professionals here.

Kenneth Lopez19 said:So, according to this, it only takes a single second to drown.☕

Does drowning actually hurt?🤔

Betty Foster97 said:"Drowning... just a second or an entire lifetime." Isn't that what Anthony Hopkins said in that one movie?🤔

😁

So, basically, one second is all it takes to drown.☕

Nžzar, nobody actually has the answer. I'm just looking for the experts, the heavy hitters who actually know what's up.

Moderators, why was the "one second or an entire lifetime" thread deleted?

It’s a simple question: how long does it take to drown if you can't swim in the ocean, a pool, or a river? I think I've made myself clear enough.🤔
Dos and don'ts of trying to conceive in Health ·

Speak up. This is important to me.

I'm 21. I want to understand how to manage fertility—specifically how to avoid getting pregnant by tracking fertile windows and all that. I'd like both men and women to weigh in and explain the whole process clearly.
So, by that I mean 70 and up. What’s your take on this—do the older generations get in the way of the younger ones?
Thanks!

It's an interesting topic and feels like one we haven't touched on yet, so edit:

Ageism (ageism) refers to prejudices based on a person's age, though we usually focus on biases against the elderly.
It stems partly from gerontophobia—an irrational fear or hatred of aging and older people.

When explaining ageism and gerontophobia, Terror Management Theory (TMT; Greenberg et al., 1986) is the dominant framework. Put simply, older people serve as a reminder of our own fragility and mortality, highlighting the limits of our lifespan. Out of fear for our own deaths, older individuals trigger anxiety in us, which we attempt to manage by rejecting them. It's a way to distance ourselves from what we might eventually become.

Ageism is just a prejudice against our own terrifying future selves. (Nelson Mandela, 2009).

We can distinguish between benevolent and hostile ageism. Benevolent ageism involves viewing older people through stereotypes rooted in pity or a fear of aging. Hostile ageism involves active dislike or repulsion, viewing the elderly as worthless or otherwise negative.
The Need to Dream in Health ·
Is there any truth to the idea that a lack of sleep actually shortens your lifespan?
The Need to Dream in Health ·
So, what's the absolute bare minimum amount of sleep the brain needs before it just stops functioning? What is the lowest threshold?
Thanks.
Natural ways to curb high libido? in Health ·
Look, I need something to dial back my libido and curb my erections. Basically, I want to dampen my sex drive. Any help would be appreciated. I'm 16, by the way.
Thanks!
I’m looking for some info on how long a person can actually go without any sleep at all.
Is it even possible to last a month or two?
What’s the limit before you start doing permanent damage to your health?

Thanks!
The dangers of sitting at a desk all day in Health ·
Hey, I'm 15 and have a question. A lot of people claim that sitting at a computer all day—gaming and stuff—stunts your growth and messes with your physical and mental development. I'm looking for some serious input on this. Thanks!
Best time of day to work out? in Hobbies & Leisure ·
Morning sunlight is your best bet—it’s far more effective than any other time of day. If you can't catch it in the AM, aim for four or five hours before hitting the sack.
