I'm getting tired of everyone acting like you have to drop a fortune on expensive seminars or coaching just to get ahead. Honestly, I feel like a lot of these high-priced programs are just overpriced fluff for people with too much cash to burn. Does anyone actually think these massive price tags are worth the payoff, or is it all just hype?

Jerry Smith91 said:Hey everyone! Where can I pick up plus-size clothing here in the city—and please, don't suggest Ulla Pompken. In my opinion, it’s overpriced and just plain tacky.

It used to be easy to find those little boutiques scattered around town, but now? It feels like they’ve all vanished into thin air.

Mango doesn't carry larger sizes in-store—it's online-only. I tried ordering from them and was beyond disappointed; the fabric is paper-thin and practically see-through. To top it off, I had to shell out about $10 in shipping just to send it back. The sizing is all over the place too—either huge or way too big—and honestly, the quality of the stuff they ship out seems much worse than what you see on the racks in their physical stores.

Where can I find decent office wear that I can actually try on in person before buying?

C&A, H&M, Takko...
Sometimes Target has decent stuff, NKD is okay too, and KiK occasionally hits the mark—though you shouldn't hold your breath.

With my last two orders from ASOS, I just wasn't happy with the experience, so I honestly don't have any desire to shop there ever again.

How do you all usually navigate their sizing? Do you actually bother using their size charts, or is that just wishful thinking?
I mean, I realize every single manufacturer has their own specific sizing standards, so nothing is ever truly consistent across the board...🤔

I check the specific chart for every single brand and go from there.

Does anyone have any solid recommendations for where to shop for plus-size jeans online? I’m looking for an actual decent web store.
Also, has anyone here actually tried ordering a bra from the Astratex site? I’m wondering if they’re actually worth it or if I should just look elsewhere.

Personally, I stick to ASOS, Marks & Spencer, H&M, or C&A.
Lately, one of those seems to always have what I’m looking for—it's a bit of a hit-or-miss game, but they usually deliver.

analoghound19 said:Does Peek & Clopenburg actually carry any high-end stuff in their stores? Their international site makes it look promising, but I’m specifically wondering about the location in downtown Chicago—is it worth the trip? I’m on the hunt for a really nice suit, but whenever I walk in there, I just feel completely lost... and honestly, the staff isn't exactly jumping at the chance to help out, so I'm hesitant to even ask...

Based on my own experience—and I say this with a fair amount of skepticism—not really. You might stumble upon some basic tees or casual stuff if you look hard enough, but finding jackets, blazers, or actual trousers? That’s a different story entirely. It’s all quite thin on substance.

Kyle Rogers9 said:Where do you guys shop for dressier dresses? :/

I usually stick to shopping online at places like ASOS, Nordstrom, or even H&M—it’s much easier than trekking through a mall. Honestly, those sites always seem to have something that works.

They might as well just launch boohoo.com too—for the sake of complete and utter absurdity.

wiredpuma92 said:Hey ladies, can anyone recommend where I can pick up some compression shorts or biker shorts in the US? I need something to wear under dresses or skirts because my thighs rub together 😐😉
I checked out H&M, but they only had one size in stock and they just ended up digging into my legs like crazy. I probably need a size 16 or maybe an 18, depending on how the brand fits.

Now there’s some activity popping up in the DMs on that forum—though I can't quite tell if they're actually worth the trouble or just more digital noise.

Nicole Taylor80 said:Ladies, I am losing my mind. I am looking for a basic black skirt, size 12, made of viscose or wool (or cotton)—I have searched everywhere from Aldi to Amazon... every single shop in the US. No one has it. eBay was a complete disappointment; I ordered a dress on March 19th that hasn't even arrived yet. Now I’ll probably have to deal with the headache of requesting a refund. If anyone knows where I can find a skirt made of natural materials in a larger size, maybe even with an elastic waistband, please let me know.
For those of you searching for plus sizes, I would suggest checking out Evans or Yours Clothing; also, I found a stunning ULLA POPKEN tunic on Amazon US at a much better price than what they offer here (where the prices are just outrageous). I managed to snag a one-day sale. It arrived via express shipping, and it's actually quite roomy.
I also had my eye on a jacket.
I ended up ordering a bodysuit from C&A in Europe as well. I'm still waiting on it. They have great sales right now, though.
As for ULLA POPKEN in Europe: they are charging $16.90 plus tax, which feels like way too much. Honestly, Amazon US is the way to go.

Have you checked Next or ASOS?
Boohoo?
Maybe something like Kik?

hollowtinker40 said:Just a quick little update on Kiku. I swung by yesterday, and man, those sports ones? They’re completely gone.
(I mean, that doesn't necessarily mean they aren't at some other Kiku location, but usually, their stock is pretty much the same across all the stores, no matter where you are in town).

I saw them on two separate occasions. It was also like this during the winter.

Thanks 🙂
Look, I know they weren't really calling my name to begin with—I've actually stopped in there a few times lately—but I’ll still make a point to head to my local one just to check the shelves.

hollowtinker40 said:Maybe you grabbed a pair that’s a bit too loose, I mean, who knows? Personally, this one I have is super firm—like, I can move all over the place and nothing budges. I'm a size D/E.

Both were labeled as high impact.
They hold everything perfectly in place—until, of course, I actually need to move around.🤣

hollowtinker40 said:Over the last couple of years, I picked up maybe four or five, I can't quite remember the exact number right now.
Anyway, they actually have some that are perfect for heavy-duty sports like martial arts—which was honestly ideal for my training sessions since we were doing full-body contact and just constant action—and then there are the slightly looser ones that are still pretty sturdy.
For that kind of price point (under like ten bucks), they're honestly pretty decent.
I haven't stepped foot in a Kmart in the last month or two, but this stuff has always been part of their regular stock.

Also, you can sometimes find stuff at Target when they have one of those big sports equipment weeks. They’re good too, just varying levels of how much they actually "keep everything under control."

I actually own two pairs from Lidl. Honestly, they feel great while I'm out running or jumping.🤣

I'll head over to Kmart next time I'm out. Thanks! 🙂

Charles Gomez4 said:Check out H&M plus size 🙂

Yeah, I suppose they don't—not exactly that solid, anyway. 😢
hollowtinker40 said:Maybe check out Target or Kohl's.

I haven't bothered looking at their athletic wear—usually, those standard cuts don't offer much more than a C cup anyway. So, what you're saying is—the actual sports bras actually provide better coverage?
Fashion for curvy girls in Fashion ·
Ladies—does anyone happen to know where I can pick up some actually decent, high-impact sports bras for an E/F cup? I need something that won't fail during intense workouts—real support, not just wishful thinking. An online shop is perfectly fine, provided they ship to the States. 😉

Brandon Wells712 said:I need some help—does anyone know where I can find an extra-long pareo? I’m looking for one that goes all the way down to my ankles, and since I’m a size 14 or 16, I need something with actual coverage... ideally for a beach trip.
I couldn't find anything at Gap...
And does H&M still not carry larger sizes in our stores? I'm asking specifically about pants... I’d probably just order them online, but sizing is always such a headache for me—though maybe elastic waists would make things easier...🤔
I'm not really the type to spend my weekends wandering around shopping malls.
Basically, where should I be looking for size 16 pants?🕺

Take a look at ASOS, Boohoo, or Next... they carry a massive range of sizes. You should also check the C&A and H&M websites; their online inventory is far superior to what you'll find on the racks in-store. Also, Mango has a specific line tailored for fuller figures.😉

frozenmoose13 said:So, here we have another one... someone who is fruitlessly hunting for size 50 jeans that actually look decent—meaning they aren't washed out, faded, or looking like those ridiculous carrot-cut tights.
Yesterday, I spotted a pair at Gap, but I already own that exact style, so I suppose I’m back to square one. Does anyone know if there are any other stores that carry larger sizes? :-)

Personally, I just order my denim from ASOS or Next.😉

Keith Moore said:Anyone know where I can snag some softer boyfriend jeans? I’m hunting for a lighter wash and, if possible, something with a little distressing.
🙂Man, you gotta hit up the shops in NYC. I seriously need to go try some on first.

Last year, I ordered a similar volume through Next—much like the one you’re describing here.
Bright, frayed, soft—but they’re only half-finished.
I adore them. 😍

If you absolutely insist on trying it—and I suspect you do—you might find what you're looking for at the Point Nextov shop downtown.
The only thing I’ll give them is this—their selection process is absolutely abysmal.

Next online. 😉
It seems to me that most dresses are standardly cut for a UK size 16—though, in reality, there are plenty of them that stretch all the way up to a 22. 😉
Add it within a week. 😁

It’s a concept that sounds deceptively simple—something "sent by air"—yet it carries a certain weight when you actually stop to consider the logistics involved. It brings to mind those moments where everything feels effortless, almost ethereal, like a message caught in a breeze or a package dropped from a drone over a sprawling suburb in Chicago. There is a lightness to it, certainly—a lack of friction that we all crave in our increasingly cluttered lives—but there is also an inherent unpredictability. You can control the launch, sure, but once that thing is airborne, it belongs to the elements. It’s much like a well-laid plan in a corporate boardroom; you can map out every trajectory and anticipate every gust of wind, but eventually, you have to let go and hope the atmosphere carries your intentions exactly where they need to go.

I have a few pieces from the Mango Violet line—everything fits my actual size perfectly 🤷
—and honestly, it’s the same story with Next and ASOS. I always order the exact same sizes, and they always hit the mark 😁

Does anyone know how many days it typically takes for an order from Dorothy Perkins to actually arrive?
I’m looking to pick up a swimsuit—we’re heading to the coast next week—and I have no idea if it’ll make the cut in time 😕

Also, just a heads-up: Macy's is still running that summer dress clearance through tomorrow. They go up to XXL and the prices are $30 😉
