Has anyone actually messed around with doing a backup and recovery on Windows 7 using just the built-in tools?
Anyone got any insight on what kind of headaches I might run into during

- Backup
- Recovery

The plan is to back up the entire C drive to an external HDD—basically my E drive—and I'll be making a bootable CD too.

Not exactly making sense here. Are we talking about a CMS or just plain old HTML? Did you host this on a live web server or is it running on your local machine? Give me something to work with.

Option 1.
If it's a CMS hosted on a live server, just grab a tool to download the entire site so you can view it Offline.

Option 2.
If it's just standard HTML files sitting on your computer, just grab the whole folder, throw it on a thumb drive, and move it to her PC. Easy.

Option 3
If you've got a localhost server running on your rig, try converting the site for Offline viewing again.

Or honestly, just save the thing as a PDF and show her that. You haven't given me enough info—what's the setup, what's the goal, what have you actually done? Help me help you.

Alright, if you already fixed it, cool. I know Excel imports into PowerPoint, but if you set a custom format, the numbers should show up with the right separators. You can also just type the number as text and then use the Excel function VALUE later to pull it into a calculation.
Doesn't really matter though if you've already moved past it.

Are we talking about numbers typed straight into PowerPoint, or are you pulling in an Excel sheet or something?

Whatever works for you, man. It’s basically all the same stuff—just a different UI and maybe some extra bells and whistles in the newer version. I actually added a beefier, more detailed tutorial in English to the zip file, so go ahead and re-download the Excel 2010 for beginners one.

Just change the date on your PC and boom—everything’s trashed.
Either just split it down the middle like they said, or just hand it off to someone who isn't gonna give it back until the deadline hits. Simple.

Excel 2010—opened it up a few times just to see. Honestly, you wouldn't have any trouble digging into Excel 2007 or Excel 2013. It’s mostly just UI tweaks and graphics; the core logic is basically the same. If you can handle Excel 2003, moving to the newer versions is a breeze.

Honestly, I have no clue why that happened—maybe some glitch during the recording—but if you hit 'select data,' you'll see the range is actually A2:A9.

Look, I just need a basic Excel Chart. X-axis should have these labels (1, 12, *1, *12, etc.—just like the bottom table shows), and the Y-axis needs to show the actual values.
If I swap those labels for simple letters like a, b, c, d, the chart looks fine. But the second I try using the actual labels I need, the whole thing turns into a total mess.

Check out Save As Rich text format in Word. If you're working on a resume, you can get pretty creative using your own template or a pre-made one in Word. Plus, in Word 2007, you've got the option to save as a PDF.
And yeah, like the other guy mentioned, there are plenty of online converters like doc2pdf

Just throw the term into Google. That's all you need to do. Absolute cell references in Excel. Use the dollar signs. Check the first link. Solution's right there. 😉

Try the mouseover trick using bookmarks and hyperlinks to trigger a tooltip if you can live with a 255-character limit.
