Issues with Outlook 2007 in Software ·
coppergardener22 said:After I sent the requests, I checked my Gmail directly to see if some confirmation popped up there—since Outlook is being weird and won't pull it in for some reason—but nope, nothing.

Are you using IMAP to pull your Gmail into Outlook? Might be the issue right there.

Try logging into that Gmail through Outlook at home and see if the message actually lands (if you can).

Try grabbing GNU. HERE is a tutorial on how to cut someone out of a photo

You could also use some other image editor—just be careful when selecting around the subject and delete whatever you don't need.

btw: here's a quick one if this works for you 😉
it could look better, but that takes more time and effort (needs some polishing)

Brandon Lee12 said:It was a total pain when I was trying to type out formulas—specifically fractions and square roots. I couldn't figure out how to apply exponents or indices to the stuff inside the numerator, denominator, or under the radical...

Check it out, maybe this tutorial will help you out:

Richard Lee47 said:What setting is this? How do I kill it once and for all?!!!!

Weird that it's acting up in Microsoft Word 2010 (haven't used that one much myself)
Just kill "Check spelling as you type"
Go to File => Options => Proofing => uncheck "Check spelling as you type"
btw: check those AutoCorrect Options too?

Weird. How'd you miss the very first link on Google? It breaks it all down step-by-step right there.

Edward Foster23 said:John! Apparently, you aren't allowed to drop private email addresses in the public forum, and all I wanted was that Klingon template. Plus, I'm pretty sure you can't even upload presentations with *.PPS or *.PPT extensions here. That's why I'm going private.

I'm with you on that—that's exactly why I just uploaded my files to my own website.
The real kicker here is probably that @mistywalker94/">@@mistywalker94 didn't convert the music file to a WAV (at least, that's my take).

We helped her fix it, sure, but we didn't really help anyone else reading this thread, which is the whole point of a forum. We gotta provide a clear takeaway.

Bottom line: if you're sending "one single file"—like via email—you need to convert the audio you want to import (or embed) into a WAV first. Then, go into Tools = > Options and bump up the max size for imported WAV files. That way, the audio actually stays integrated within that single *.PPS file.

btw: I mentioned this in an earlier post and even dropped a link with the breakdown.

If I missed anything, set me straight. 😉

The presentation works fine. But why keep it private?
There are tons of posts on this thread, and it’s better to solve it here so anyone else hitting the same wall can find the fix.

I don't see what's so mysterious about it—it's just the sounds being Embed in the file.
- rooster_01.wav
- turkey.wav
- cat_01.wav
- goat_02.wav
- duck_03.wav

Just had a lightbulb moment regarding what might be going on here.
You need to Embed the audio file, but it’s gotta be a WAV. If you tried using an MP3, that's your problem right there—you'll have to convert it to WAV first.
Give those two files I linked above a shot.

Also, don't forget to set the maximum size for the embedded file.

mistywalker94 said:You can use Pack and Go or just make a CD package under the file menu. It grabs all the files you need, though they end up all over the place.

Do those two files I sent work for you?
btw: toss a PPT or PPS with sound somewhere so I can test it out.

mistywalker94 said:The music only plays on my own computer; it's totally dead on everyone else's machines.

Then something's definitely busted in your sound settings or you're just doing it wrong. Try grabbing these two files, Sound-pps and Sound-ppt, and test them out on your rig. They should work fine.

I don't get what you mean by "Pack and Go..?" Go to File => Save As => and for the file type, pick PowerPoint Show
Which version of PowerPoint are you running?

mistywalker94 said: How do I save a presentation as a pps so it actually works on other computers?

Depends on which version of PowerPoint you're running—that determines what options you get. Just look at the Save as Type dropdown.

Issues with Malwarebytes in Software ·
Daniel Robinson4 said:Tried a few different ways, still nothing works.

1. Nuke whatever version you've got installed now.
2. Scour your system for any leftover folders or files (check Program Files and the Windows directory) tied to Malwarebytes (search for "malware*"). They're scattered everywhere, especially if you're still running Windows 7. Just watch out if you have Spybot—don't accidentally delete its stuff.
3. Run a deep scan with Total Commander (make sure hidden files are visible) and wipe them out (search for "mbam*")
4. Back up your Registry, then hunt down everything related to Malwarebytes (mbam*) just like > laid out.
5. Reboot the machine.
6. Install Advance SystemCare and give it a run to clean things up.
7. Install CCleaner and scrub the system again.
8. Reboot one more time.

Let us know how it goes so everyone else can follow the playbook. ;-)

wanderingraven14 said:Hey Nicole Collins6, I want to put "SD" in the next cell to show someone's off, and then have the same formula calculate it as 0 if possible.

Try this: =IF(A1="SD","0",B1+1-A1)

But honestly, just a heads up
- What about Sick Leave - BO - 8 hours?
- What about Vacation - GO - 7 hours?

If you wanna account for those too, try this one
=IF(A1="SD","0",IF(A1="BO","7",IF(A1="GO","8",B1+1-A1)))

btw: no clue why I didn't see his post in my browser, especially since there was like a 30-minute gap between posts?
hiddensailor14 said:Thanks, that's all there is to it.🙂

And what exactly is "all there is to it"?
You mean you aren't looking for links anymore?

The way I read you—and honestly, even just looking at the screenshot—makes sense.
Every single time you try to unzip a file, it asks you to set a destination path, then does it again for the next one, and after all that digging through folders, you're just left staring at another freaking ZIP file.
hiddensailor14 said:If I drag an entire season folder over to WinZip, it doesn't even bother unzipping—it just tries to re-compress everything into another zip file.🤷

Seen that double archiving crap before. Honestly? It drives me nuts. :-(
Look, I don't have a better fix than just grinding through it folder by folder.
hiddensailor14 said:Any way to auto-extract all archives (including from every subfolder) and dump them into one single spot? The episodes have different names like Serial Number.S01E01... so moving them all into the same folder shouldn't be an issue. Thanks.🙂

Open WinZip, find where the archives are sitting, select all the folders, and just hit extract.
WinZip’ll just dump all the archives into one single folder. Since they all have different names, it won't be an issue.
Hey.
George Nguyen3 said:Honestly, you could just whip up your own table with maybe 4 or 5 Columns and then just copy/paste and hit Print.

Yeah, I'm down with that option too. 🙂
