I suppose I would estimate it at roughly a hundred people...

1. forging

2. food

3. chaos

4. balls

and then, perhaps, nothing at all for a very long time... 🙂
Timothy Evans said:it usually ends quite poorly—it’s probably for the best he's getting his ass kicked now—but from what I can tell, he's a similar little bastard to mine, which means they're basically indestructible, so there's no need to worry, haha

haha, fair point, mutts are definitely hardier, and yours turned out great... mine is actually a purebred, a Gram Parsons Russell Terrier, though I suppose that doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things. I guess he doesn't really care either way.

The main thing is that we managed to isolate the little killerimage
Timothy Evans said:that's honestly quite intense—it’s probably for the best that it was noticed in time. please take good care of your dog!!!

we only caught it by pure luck... I suppose I felt a bit shaken after reading about what might have happened if we hadn't realized it sooner..
Heiko Herrlichia canis, sure. It’s a nasty little bacterial mess, though I suppose it probably hitched a ride on some tick from the Midwest 😠
I suppose I wonder why the headlining band's font is smaller than the supporting act's, making it nearly impossible to read their name🤷

Aside from that minor detail, the poster is quite lovely 👍

@petra & Harold Wright54: Bart sends his apologies but won't be able to make it; he's been dealing with a rather rare illness—I believe it's Ehrlichiosis or something similar—and it was just diagnosed, all while his employers essentially left him broke during the process. He's currently on antibiotics and needs to rest🙂

just watching the old man cash out 😍😍

they look lovely... I suppose they've brightened my week quite a bit..
Has anyone caught the latest Uncut? They ranked the top 150 albums of the 21st century, and somehow... Ghost Is Born took third place. 🙏🙏 Meanwhile, YHF landed somewhere in the mid-thirties. Honestly, someone should probably give that Allan Jones guy a reality check... 🙄

They also seemed rather condescending when discussing Bennett. 😠
Arthur Anderson75 said:I wasn't accusing you of heresy; I just think those intellectual and spiritual channels are generally stunted for most "urban cool guys" who are still drinking beer at thirty-five.

Over & out

And now I've completely lost you... so, according to you, the "intellectual and spiritual channels" of most urban cool guys are totally blocked just because they're having a drink at thirty-five? Honestly, what does that even mean to a kid today? 🤷 You seem like some kind of straight edge extremist who's just bitter because someone didn't care for 70 percent of the show—and heaven forbid, they actually enjoyed themselves by grabbing beers with friends from a safe distance during it.

I'm also not sure if you realized you used the phrase "intellectual and spiritual channels" while talking about a concert by N.E.R.D. and a bald Moby. Intellectual and spiritual channels? There's a guy jumping around on stage screaming his head off, "American women are hooornyyyy!!!" and you call that an intellectual and spiritual channel? Man, are you actually sane?
Arthur Anderson75 said:You probably were one of those people throwing fluorescent crap onto the stage.

I suppose you actually watched every performer through to the end, despite your own questionable attitude; clearly, you had nothing better to do with your time.

Once you have a band and enough inspiration to compose even five percent of what you've been trashing, then maybe you can talk.

Are you going to Lollapalooza watching Placebo?

Listen, Pavlekic, how on earth did you conclude that I watched every single act until the very end? I was mostly there to offer moral support to the people working, while hanging out and grabbing drinks with those who weren't... and I actually had a great time, even if only three and a half bands managed to impress me over the whole two days.

I don't think I'll ever understand pathetic types like you, who suddenly develop a sense of justice just because someone dares to voice a terrible heresy—like saying every art brut song sounds identical, or that Tricky is just hilariously high, or that Karen is as ugly as midnight...

The whole argument about having five percent talent automatically invalidates every single discussion on internet forums everywhere. Is that clear to you, or is that adolescent fire of righteousness still burning too brightly in your chest?
I suppose I’ve never actually experienced sitting through such a massive amount of music that simply fails to interest me...

Anthrax are quite amusing; I find it rather interesting that their guitarist held a workshop for young metalheads in Nashville just the day before. Respect...

The Editors might consider holding a workshop in a local barbershop instead. I have honestly never heard or seen anything quite as subpar from a band as they are...

And I am not entirely sure why everyone in the hip-hop crowd feels the need to act out every cliché. Those nerd types over by the indie stage, relentlessly insisting on a rivalry with the metal stage—which, at that moment, had maybe thirty people on it... though none of that compares to the moment that guy from the indie section suddenly transformed from a jumping fool at the end of the set into a literal Martin Luther King Jr. figure for the downtrodden, helping us all persist in pursuing our own talents... you get some cheap arena pay and a spiritual awakening reminiscent of a Sunday morning sermon, all in one package.🙏

I truly cannot wrap my head around Moby; it seems like music without any substance, designed for cocaine-fueled yuppies. I didn't even really get close to that soundtrack used for corporate meetings at companies like AT&T...

Tricky was quite charming in his absolute disheveled state... you know, the band plays Ace of Spades, he barely participates, just waving his hands and mumbling, and then as an encore, the band plays Ace of Spades AGAIN, and he just mumbles and wanders about once more... haha, brilliant!

Art Brut was alright, probably the best part alongside Anthrax... although they don't really have many songs. Still, I appreciate how the singer hinted about not giving a damn about anything about twenty different times. That always tends to lighten my mood...
I suppose I'm not quite sure...

Lilly Allen is a rather charming girl, and she doesn't nearly have the figure everyone seems to claim, but her music is honestly quite mediocre. I'm just sitting here sipping some wine and watching TV... la la la la le ly... It’s a bit amusing seeing "Lilly Allen" printed on the drum kit. I suppose if Taylor Swift were playing, it would be more fitting to have "Taylor Swift" written on the drums for her.

Listening to Kraftwerk felt a bit like walking into some quiet lounge bar... the music plays at a moderate volume, four guys just standing behind a stand, everything is so flat... I don't really get the appeal... 🤷

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are a subpar band and they lack actual songs. Not a single one—nothing with a real chorus or structure. Plus, the lead singer carries this irritating attitude of someone who thinks she's much more attractive than she actually is. Period.

Nokia performing on the Rokia stage was alright, though those African-inspired patterns start to feel a bit repetitive after a few minutes.

Franz Ferdinand is a decent band; they got a little tedious with those disco-prog sections, but they were fine... I actually quite enjoyed them.

I caught a bit of Hammerfall or Hatebreed, or whatever the name was, and I don't really understand it either, but they are much more likable than the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. At least they actually know how to play their instruments.

The highlight of the lineup was definitely Green Day.🙄

brightridge19 I suppose one might say:
I attempted to advocate for Fleet Foxes, though I suppose neither he nor his partner seems particularly inclined to view me as some kind of musical authority. 😢

I suppose you were likely advertising that during the late-night hours, back when I was probably in a state where I might have offered you a dog biscuit and asked Lars how things had been going at his job lately... so it isn't entirely surprising that those Fleet Foxes slipped right past me.🙂

Steven Hernandez9, I suppose you might have heard Fleet Foxes? What's your take on them?

I haven't heard them. Given your reputation as a notorious cybercriminal, I imagine you probably have a link somewhere.😁

I suppose she sounds a bit like Paul Simon attempting a Carpenters cover.

I am not entirely certain, but the whole thing feels somewhat aimless to me—as if they decided to just mix a little disco, some country, a bit of old Fleet Foxes, and maybe some Fleetwood Mac together, then just record it and call it a day.

Not quite, though the way the vocals kick in on "Sec Walkin'" does give off that kind of vibe..

Personally, I think it is quite good that at least ten tracks landed for me; their earlier albums always seemed to have much more filler...

boldscout72 said:Oh, my apologies, there is one particularly dreadful one—The Remnants—which is quite terrible. 😬 Though the album itself is lovely. 😍

I suppose I have signed up to host an Evil Urges listening party.
😳

haha, The Remnants is great, isn't it? (😁) Aluminum Park sounds pretty good to me too. 🙂

For me, Two Halves is currently the best. It has been on repeat for about twenty minutes now. Maybe one day we could head over to your backyard for some bourbon and dance barefoot to the new Fleet Foxes!

boldscout72 said:You're clearly mistaken. This falls squarely under the sunshine pop category. image

Wouldn't you say Fire Escapes fits the sunshine pop mold better? 🤷😁

I can't quite recall the name, but they play, shout "woo!" right before the chorus, and layer those "ooooo" backing vocals under massive amounts of reverb. They have one track reminiscent of "Everybody's Talkin'" and another that sounds like a budget version of The Flaming Lips. 😍 I suppose that Z track never quite clicked for me. As for this one, upon first listen...

My Morning Jacket has released the best album of their career, I suppose. Though, it really only starts with the fourth track; they seemed to be joking around with the first three. 😲 I haven't heard such a solid piece of Americana roots-rock since Anodyne. Does anyone know when the next flight or train is scheduled?

😍😍😍😍
