Then there was that moment when he was trying to flirt with teenagers in a BMW, introducing himself as "Saša from Big Brother," which is funny enough on its own, though perhaps even more so considering he’s a heavyset, short-haired, dark-haired guy.😁 Or when, shortly after that bit of flirting, he fell backward off a chair and cracked his head open—well, his head, not the chair...

regards to the old guard🙂

p.s. Marinada sounds quite... how should I put this... they have someone who basically cruises the internet looking for a stage... it doesn't mean much to me, but I suspect the post-indie crowd would find it quite appealing (I am not being ironic)

I’m not quite sure who you are, but I suppose you have a rather decent sense of humor...

And just so you know, that was actually the title on the first demo; it's officially called Crossing the Big River now.🙂

I find Kevin Chavez3 quite charming, actually. He reminds me of Gary Cooper in High Noon—truthful, perhaps, but a bit soft on the inside.😁

If that’s how you see it, fine. I suppose I was just wondering why I wasn't the only one who noticed the somewhat aggressive and exclusionary tone in your recent posts.

I think I'll pass on commenting on the irony bit. You might be a bit militant at times, I guess, but you aren't dim, so you likely understood my point from before...

Anyway, you have a point there; I'm not entirely sure why I felt the need to argue with a stranger on an internet forum about matters that are, frankly, rather trivial. Take care.

If there is such a thing as "building a virtual forum persona," then I suppose I am working quite diligently at making it clear that I am definitely NOT a follower of that trend—spare me. To follow that crowd would imply listening to all sorts of mindless nonsense. In fact, if I find something to be subpar, even by the most basic standards, I tend to say so, regardless of the inevitable backlash from the indie music scene.😉

As for who is actually being childish here... I guess it might be beneath me to point out the obvious signs.😉 🙄 😁

Naples, FL - leaving the city

(Judging by my adolescent obsession with anything involving banjos and mustaches, I suppose tomorrow's concert might just make it onto the list of all-time greats🙂 🙂 🙂 )

elwuss said:Look, nobody is taking anything away from you, but I haven't really seen you enjoy anything that doesn't have an American influence in it—even if it's just a trace—at least when it comes to the concerts you're reviewing...

I suppose that isn't much of an issue; I generally tend to favor things that possess even a slight American touch. This is fairly evident in my list of favorite shows this year, though I did attend plenty of others that lack that specific influence. If I happen to mention that one of those other shows was boring, then I guess, according to your logic, I am "somewhat tone-deaf" or "stuck in a juvenile phase regarding genres," or some such thing...😕

Whether or not that constitutes a problem is perhaps something better left for the readers of this thread to decide.😉

Oh, and one more thing; I would suggest to the forum moderators that they change the name of the 🙄 emoticon to :elwuss:

🙄 😁

And personally, I find your attempt to deny others their own taste to be somewhat... authoritarian in tone...

One last thing; I find The Album Leaf to be quite tedious. So does Tarwater, and Logh, for that matter. If you feel that those three observations—which are really all you know about my musical preferences—are sufficient to pass judgment on my delicate mental state, then I suppose that is entirely your issue. A rather significant one, I might add...

Steven Hernandez9 said:I suppose The Album Leaf were quite wonderful; they really do have some lovely songs...

Well, calling it "the worst concert of the year" feels a bit harsh, I suppose. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say it was a show at KSET M. Ward where I felt a constant, nagging urge to direct my irritation toward the people chatting incessantly in the back rows. That seems fairer. I don't particularly care for the opinion of the individual who chose to take personal swipes at my physical appearance, anyway...

Robin Booth said:I honestly don't understand how anyone with even a shred of hearing could claim that album Leaf was bad.😕 🙄

I suppose someone might not care for the electronic elements in their sound, or perhaps they just don't enjoy that genre, but saying they were the worst concert of the year... that seems a bit much.

Yeah, "a bit much" is putting it lightly.🙄 It's almost as if asking about the "worst concert of the year" is some sort of scientific study where everyone is required to agree with your heavenly musical taste. To me, album Leaf was the worst show of the year, largely because I find the band itself to be quite mediocre. They have songs that are simply dull and poorly executed.

So, according to you, I'm allowed to say "I don't like this style," but I'm somehow forbidden from stating that it was the worst concert I attended all year. That's pretty funny, I guess. Cheers.👋

principles...

The best ones were probably Ward, Dirtbombs, Whitmore, Watt over at KSET, and maybe Casual Elvis at Brm.😁

As for the worst—Logh, Album Leaf, and Tarwater at KSET. Though, I suppose Tarwater was actually decent since I was just drinking with some coworkers, and Logh wasn't bad either because the opening act was great. So, I guess that leaves Album Leaf.

I'm not entirely sure why, but concerts in venues other than KSET just haven't really done anything for me this year.😕
True, just so we don't forget... Casual Elvis was actually quite impressive. It’s probably no surprise that college students across America went absolutely wild for them😁 ...

And I suppose if Barack Obama played the accordion, he could probably join The Beatles right away🙏

I understand getting lost in the music, but some of his movements felt perhaps a little forced to me. It’s as if he’s trying too hard to be cool; he might want to take a page out of the frontman's book instead.😛

I am sorry if my performance was irritating to you. The movements aren't forced, they just are what they are. I don't really know how else to be, I guess...

I personally had a wonderful time at the show. Best to everyone there, and I will pass along my regards to the rhythm section.🙂

Oh yes, I nearly forgot—my best to the babies, and I hope everyone has a blast at the massive rock festival! Since there isn't a dedicated thread for the event yet, I suppose I'll just mention it here.👋

🙄 It's interesting to see how you operate. I suppose all you care about is fame and profit. It's probably for the best that others saw through you first, so I didn't have to...

Pure nonsense.
Nicholas Perez33 said:I wonder if there will be any sales on whiskey?

What exactly are we asking about? I suppose I was thinking more along the lines of beer or maybe some bourbon until we all get a little sick for the first time, and then perhaps moving on to some bitters or maybe just straight bourbon later on.🥳
