Regarding the soda, its primary function is merely to neutralize the acid present in the stomach.

So, you're saying there aren't any specific pills or remedies available that could make this more manageable?
How can one manage that persistent metallic taste in the mouth following chemotherapy?
To be specific, my father is finding it increasingly difficult to enjoy any food or drink because everything he consumes leaves this heavy, metallic sensation on his palate.

Has anyone here dealt with something similar, and if so, what did you find actually helped alleviate it?
mistyjackal842, do you happen to have any additional advice for improving my blood work results that we haven't already discussed?

Every bit of guidance is truly appreciated.
Thank you all for the information. My father underwent his second round of chemotherapy today, which included another blood draw. His red blood cell count is dropping, and his lab results look even worse than they did just last week.

While he was still able to proceed with the treatment, I am honestly at a loss as to what else he could possibly consume to help stabilize his blood counts.
He is currently taking Graviola and AHCC for immune support, and we have been making our own fresh juice blends from beets, carrots, and apples at home.

I also recently purchased some organic aronia berry juice for him because it is supposed to be incredibly potent, though it certainly isn't cheap.

In addition to those supplements, we are exploring alternative options and doing everything within our power to ensure his nutrition is optimal; we focus heavily on salads, bell peppers, and various vegetables, while constantly encouraging him to stay hydrated with plenty of fluids and green tea. He is even starting Taheebo soon. We are trying absolutely everything, yet I have this growing, sinking feeling that none of it is actually helping his blood work improve.

To make matters more unsettling, there seems to be no consistency in his treatment plan. Initially, the doctors told us he would need two rounds of chemo and radiation, then it shifted to three, and now they are saying it will likely be four rounds of both.

It leaves me wondering,🙂

I truly cannot fathom the basis upon which they keep shifting their clinical opinion and changing the therapeutic approach, especially since today was my father's first time returning to the hospital since his last session.🙂
I find myself feeling quite irritated and deeply concerned.😢
My father is heading in for his second round of chemotherapy tomorrow. His hair has thinned out significantly, so we’ve decided to shave it all off today. Since I know seeing himself this way will take a heavy emotional toll on him, I really want to find him a high-quality wig that looks just like his natural hair; I think having that sense of normalcy would help him cope much better with everything he's going through.

Could anyone point me in the right direction or suggest where I might start looking?

He’ll be turning 64 in just two days.🙂

Nancy Lee, we are currently at Mayo Clinic. My father underwent his first round of chemotherapy today—it’s a PE protocol.
Dad just finished his consultation with the neurologist, and he’s got great news—his brain scans came back completely clear... 🙂 🙂
At least for now. We haven't found any signs of metastasis anywhere else... 🙂

I have to admit, I am absolutely terrified about the possibility of the cancer spreading. He starts chemotherapy this coming Monday. Please, keep us in your thoughts and prayers...
My father received his diagnosis today🙂

It’s small cell lung cancer... there aren't any metastases yet, but they've referred him for a brain scan just to be safe.

I am reaching out to ask for anyone's experiences or any meaningful advice you might have. From everything I have read, this is one of the most aggressive forms of cancer, and it is most commonly found in smokers—which, unfortunately, describes my father perfectly.

🙂 I truly feel like this is the worst possible news he could have been given.🙂
Hello,

My father has been diagnosed with lung cancer, though he hasn't received his definitive prognosis just yet. That little tumor, as I prefer to call it, is situated right next to a lymph node, which it is currently involving.

Since Dad needs to undergo another bronchoscopy, we are still in a bit of a waiting game regarding whether the doctors will recommend surgery or if they will opt for radiation and chemotherapy instead.

What I am truly looking to understand is how I might best support him in strengthening his immune system and overall resilience during this time.

Are you aware of any specific supplements, substances, or medications that could prove beneficial for someone in his position?

Starting an LLC: Where to begin? in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
True, the law might state one thing on paper, but in actual practice, the reality on the ground is often quite different.
I’m actually going to touch base with my accountant tomorrow to double-check everything, so I'll have them give the U.S. Chamber of Commerce a call and verify the specifics... I'm certainly glad I came across this information here.😁

Carol Price4, I actually had this exact conversation when I visited the IRS office. I explained to them that I don't run a brick-and-mortar storefront, but rather an online business, and since I live with my family, it wouldn't make any sense to lease a separate commercial space just to reside in it. The agent didn't push back at all; she just gave me an "okay" and left it at that. No one tried to force the issue. However, there is a significant difference between a casual inquiry and a formal audit. It’s entirely possible that during a routine check, no one would ask, but it’s also possible they could make a real issue out of it.

Regarding the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, I am planning to reach out to my accountant first thing tomorrow morning. To be honest, everything you mentioned about the monument rent and those other fees is exactly what my accountant told me herself. I’m going to forward the link you shared directly to her so she can review it. Regardless, thank you for sending that over. If it turns out I’ve been paying things I wasn't required to, I intend to get it sorted out so I'm not wasting money for no reason.😁

Wait—did someone say "piglet"? I think you might be looking for a different thread! kaže:
Hey everyone!

I'm thinking about starting an LLC—got a few questions!
I’d run the business right out of my own place—the one I’m currently renting. Does my landlord need to sign a separate lease agreement with my LLC just for that small office space? And would that automatically trigger an amendment to our main lease since the residential square footage would technically drop by, say, 10 square feet for the business? Or could I just set up a sublease through my LLC?

So, if I’m working full-time and decide to open my own LLC where I'm the boss—do I actually get out of paying those self-employment taxes? Like, am I just stuck with the accountant fees, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce dues, and whatever other random stuff pops up? Also, I’m assuming I can finally start invoicing all that side hustle work through the company properly—that works, right? And how does this all actually shake out on my tax return at the end of the year? Might be a rookie question—I'm still figuring this whole thing out!😁

Are there any tax breaks or perks for extra training, certifications, or picking up new skills? I'm wondering if I should run those expenses through my LLC to save some cash—or if it’s better to just wait until I actually start working for a company.
So, how do you handle taxes when you're working with overseas clients—say they pay you through things like PayPal or Venmo?

Thanks a bunch!🙂

Yeah, your landlord definitely has to rent you the space or at least give you the green light to sublet—it's just how it works.

Look, you can totally run things as a director—your employer picks up the payroll taxes, so that’s one less headache. You just cover your accountant and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce fees—though, honestly, those registration fees weren't even a thing back in 2015. Then you've got your annual corporate tax and that 21% income tax to deal with later on—plus, depending on what you're doing and where your office sits, you might get hit with local tourism levies or historical preservation fees. It adds up!
You don't deal with a tax return here—that's more for sole proprietors—you just look at your final balance sheet and pay 20% on whatever profit you pull out. If you actually want to distribute those profits to yourself, you’re looking at an extra 12% plus some local surcharges. 🙂

And just so you know—if you decide to pay yourself a salary from that during the year, the IRS is going to count it all as additional income.

You don't get any tuition assistance since you aren't officially on the payroll at your company—if you were, then you might actually have a shot at it! 🙂

When you're using services like PayPal or Venmo—and that card you’ve linked to pull your funds—it really needs to be tied directly to your business checking account. Also, when you're sending out invoices, just make sure to specify the payment method—like "PayPal"—so your accountant can easily track everything.

I feel I must offer a few corrections here.

1. It is technically possible to operate without a formal agreement, though doing so is incredibly risky; if an inspector happens to drop by, they will certainly give you a hard time about it.

2. You still have to pay the U.S. Chamber of Commerce even if you are operating as an LLC. I know this from personal experience, as I run my own LLC and I pay those dues regularly$17 every single month.

Starting a small business in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
Robert Perez7 said:Hey everyone... I just started diving into all the requirements for starting a small business here in the States, so please bear with me if my questions seem a bit naive. I don't want to waste too much time digging through paperwork if this isn't even an option... I was wondering if it would actually be possible to register a sole proprietorship or an LLC for making custom, chunky statement jewelry... even though I have a four-year college degree. Does the degree matter at all for that kind of work? And also... could I just sell everything through an online shop, or am I legally required to rent out a physical studio space for both crafting and selling? 🙄 Thanks so much in advance.

1. You certainly can. I believe jewelry making falls under a general service category, though I am not entirely certain, so you should probably do a quick search on local licensing. Your educational background or specific college degree doesn't matter at all in this regard.
2. You are absolutely able to sell online without needing a brick-and-mortar shop. In my view, opening a physical storefront for almost any niche isn't particularly wise these days, especially when you see how many businesses are struggling and closing down. From a purely financial standpoint, focusing on e-commerce is much more viable.
3. Just keep in mind that you will likely have to meet certain minimal zoning and facility requirements (such as having a dedicated space for inventory, materials, etc.). The rule is that the space must be designated for commercial use, meaning the building permit must list it as a business or commercial zone. This could be a mixed-use residential/commercial building, a studio, a warehouse, or something similar.

If you have any further questions, feel free to send me a private message. I am currently in the process of trying to launch my own small business for online sales myself, so I have a decent grasp of the logistics, even though I am still gathering information. 🙂
Does birth control cause depression or mood swings? in Women's Health ·
Kate Foster12, it isn't quite a matter of me switching pills too frequently. I have actually been on hormonal contraceptives for seven years now, most of which were spent taking Yasmin. That specific brand absolutely crushed my libido, so I eventually decided to stop taking it altogether. I took a year-long break from all medication, during which time I wasn't on anything at all. Later, I started taking Novynett, but after using it for a short period, I began suffering from these incredibly intense headaches.

Then, I transitioned over to Claire. Since making that switch, the headaches have subsided; they certainly aren't as frequent or as debilitating as they used to be. However, I do experience this profound sense of depression right before my period arrives. I am genuinely curious to see how I will feel once I finally reach the end of this current pack.😁

Betty Nelson71 said:It isn't just going to vanish on its own, and you're only making things harder for yourself by trying to push through it. Take it from me; I've spent the last four months constantly reassuring myself that the irritability, the crying spells, the emotional swings, the depression, and even the light periods will eventually pass—not to mention the breast tenderness.☕Even with Claire, depression is a common side effect; many of my friends take it and they all complain about feeling depressed or having almost no period at all.

This is absolutely the truth. Since starting Claire, I barely have a period at all. It lasts maybe two or three days at most, and it's such a light flow that I don't even consider it a real period anymore.🤣

It seems I fall right into that majority group of people who deal with depression before their cycle starts and suffer from extremely light periods.🤔

Honestly, I feel quite embarrassed having to go back for my fourth refill already.🤣

I worry Ginn might think I've completely lost my mind. I'll stick with this one for a few more months, but if these symptoms persist, I'll be heading back for a tenth different brand. At this point, I don't even know which ones to ask for.🙂
