Most visually stunning movies? in Movies ·
maristella69 said:Sandra Thomas24, I totally get where you're coming from. Requiem is such an incredible film that I actually keep a copy in my own DVD collection, but I wonder... isn't the impact really more about the cinematography, the direction, and those unconventional cuts and angles rather than just pure visual spectacle?😕

I guess maybe so, but for me, that specific blend of great camerawork, the direction, and those weirdly placed shots... well, it all just hit me so hard visually.🙂

For me, it’s always been Requiem for a Dream and Amelie,
not just because they're incredible stories, but because the visuals are just... wow. They're stunning.

(And I have to admit, The Cell is visually striking too.
I actually stumbled upon a copy of The Cell on sale at Target for a few bucks, so I grabbed it specifically for those visuals.🙂

I really loved Scream, and Bergman's Whispering Corridors, and even The Man Who Wasn't There, but if you're asking which movie has the absolute best cinematography, I guess I shouldn't count those.🙂
I am just so incredibly excited about all these amazing concerts coming up.
I think I might actually have to start setting aside some extra cash on the side just to keep up. 🙂

Anyway, is anyone planning on seeing Belle and Sebastian on March 17th in New York City?
Or, more specifically, would anyone be interested in driving,
because I'm looking for two spots in a car and I can offer great company and plenty of sandwiches. 🙂
Lost in translation in Movies ·
When I first caught this movie at a film festival in Chicago, I have to admit, it just didn't click with me at all.
It felt like some sort of upper-class indulgence, and I honestly thought it was just people with zero responsibilities complaining about insomnia—which, I guess, can be pretty grating if you aren't in that headspace.🙂But even then, I had this nagging feeling that I really needed to give it another shot.
And wow, I mean, truly... when I watched it the second time, everything just fell into place. It was such a lovely experience.
Honestly, it’s an absolute gem of a film.🙂
Seats in China in Movies ·
I have to say, I was actually pretty caught off guard last year when I popped into an AMC Theatres over in Paris and realized they didn't even have numbered seats. It was this massive theater, you know? I showed up maybe 45 minutes before the movie started, thinking I'd be fine, so I guess I just wandered in, found a decent spot, and then spent forever just... waiting. Ugh. And honestly, sitting in the very back row isn't exactly a blast when you have to🙂
