Would you get your kids vaccinated against COVID? in Coronavirus ·
Mark Richardson86 said:I know, I know... you people love to cherry-pick what you hear, always missing the bigger picture and the necessary context... it’s just so incredibly predictable...

Right, because we're basically just feeding kids this "big picture" nonsense so they can crawl back into that old-school version of normal instead of actually thinking for themselves as individuals, isn't that right?😁

Brian Wells3 said:Same here. That’s exactly why I actually listen to what the scientists and experts are saying regarding COVID and the vaccines. The vast majority of actual experts in those fields are all in agreement: get vaccinated.

Look, if you’re actually keeping up with the science, you’d know kids aren't even getting hit that hard by this virus. Honestly, if you really want to protect them, just leave them alone and get them away from all this chaos.

I've had both doses. I still wear a mask at school, in the grocery store, on public transit, and so on.
Personally, I think we should probably all stick to wearing masks while the numbers are still all over the place.
As for those COVID-19 vaccination cards, they seem a bit silly to me; they feel like an administrative category with an expiration date, and I'm not really sure what to make of how long immunity actually lasts since every state seems to be running its own show with policy.🙄
I don't have any intention of getting a third or eighth dose.
I don't have a cabinet.😁

Look, just listen to the experts, otherwise you're basically going to end up just like me, someone who isn't even touching that first dose.😉

Major study: There is no clear or reliable evidence that masking in schools actually works.

The anti-masker movement proves these fanatics are gaining ground. However, they aren't the only issue at hand.

It’s just more of the same media and social madness we've been seeing lately, where they spend days bashing the "anti-maskers" like they're some kind of crazed cult, only to turn around and drop a study basically saying school mask mandates were pretty much useless to begin with.

Honestly, this whole "maskers vs. anti-maskers" divide is just incredibly stupid—it feels totally manufactured to stir up drama and pick fights, because let's be real, nobody actually goes around calling themselves an "anti-masker." That label doesn't even exist in the real world.

Susan Martin4 said:I was reading another thread where they mentioned FOX reported about 2,000 infected students. Does that mean we're looking at nearly half of all active cases?

So many positive student cases, even though you see kids wearing masks in schools every which way you look. It’s pretty obvious that this whole plan to try and force strict discipline onto kids isn't actually working at all.

I guess he was lucky enough to have those decent performances before starting elementary school, which might just be enough to keep him on track for the entire school year, maybe.🙂

I was just sitting here wondering if anyone has actually ever posed a single intelligent argument 😁

Fine. I understand parents are often too intimidated to confront the principal, but did anyone actually bother to ask that principal which specific US Law or regulation they are supposedly following?

Yeah, it really does just come down to the school, and there isn't any actual law they can hide behind since there aren't even penalties for not wearing one. The Mayor of Chicago already scrapped the mask mandate for schools, so nothing happened—not a single principal has stepped up to protest the Mayor's call.

Honestly, does anyone even bother to ask if forcing kids to wear those masks over their mouths is actually necessary? 😁

nimbleranger17 said:They’re sticking to the script. It was established ages ago that you could ditch the masks in indoor spaces provided everyone could produce a valid COVID-19 vaccination record. Honestly, even the coaching staff demonstrated that quite publicly once upon a time.

And when it comes to kids sitting in classrooms, there's no need for masks as long as they can maintain that one-and-a-half-meter buffer between desks.

So, really, I have to ask—what kind of "violation of measures" are you even talking about here?

Just because something was said a while back doesn't mean it makes any sense now, especially since under different circumstances, EVERYONE is forced to wear masks indoors just because even the vaccinated can spread the virus.

The principal basically said nobody’s wearing masks in our classrooms. He even mentioned they don't wear them in the teachers' lounge either, where all the adults are hanging out and everyone's already vaccinated, so why bother?

So he’s just straight-up ignoring the CDC guidelines. I don't get why he's even bothering to make the kids wear them just to look good for the cameras.

It’s all just a big play to stir up public outrage against anyone who doesn't want this "new normal" forced onto their kids. Now suddenly everyone’s treating children like victims, conveniently forgetting they weren't being treated like victims while all those mandates were being enforced.

"Epidemiologist: This whole thing in Appalachia is a joke, they're just putting on a performance for five minutes of wearing a mask"

I mean, seriously, what kind of epidemiologist is this? Are we really supposed to believe this entire circus is about public health when they’re only pulling out the masks for five minutes at a time? Who exactly is a mask protecting for a five-minute window while students are stuck in classrooms for hours on end? It feels like they're just selling us a bunch of smoke and mirrors at this point.

nimbleranger17 said:Look, maybe the reason the rest of the parents aren't jumping in is simply because they don't want to deal with the massive headache or create an awkward scene for their kids just because someone wants to wear a mask for two minutes while walking from the school entrance to the classroom. Honestly, kids spend way more time wearing masks at the local grocery store than they ever would in that specific hallway.

Well, those parents clearly haven't realized that their kids have been drowning in stress from all these COVID-19 restrictions for ages now, which is exactly why we're seeing such a massive spike in kids heading to pediatric psychiatry.

It starts with a mask for two minutes today, and before you know it, tomorrow it's "just" this

It’s honestly pretty depressing seeing how none of the other parents stepped up to back him, because that's the only way anyone actually wins in this life—but I guess that's just psychology doing its thing. He’s the black sheep, while everyone else plays the part of the "reasonable" citizens.

I'm not even gonna bite at those provocations because I know the mods wouldn't be able to handle the headache, but if you've got nothing better to do, go ahead and look up what actual experts are saying about vaccinating kids with these COVID shots.

Exposing your own kid to something that sketchy and undefined—even to those total CDC zealots—just because you're traveling? Honestly, I don't even know how to respond without losing my cool and being rude

DoktorNo said:They aren't lying, obviously, since Grandma and Grandpa are our future and we have to protect them, even if it means sacrificing the kids in the process.☕

Grandma and Grandpa probably already grabbed their shots if they're that worried, so I don't really get the issue here. Is it just people being skeptical about whether the vaccines actually work?

Matthew Jackson2 said:So, here’s the latest poll from Google, and honestly, it’s pretty much in line with what we’ve been seeing over on the Reddit forum, maybe off by just a few percentage points.

It seems Capakov’s deputy has some seriously questionable ideas floating around, but looking at the feedback, those concepts aren't just unpopular with the public—some of these comments are so out of line they practically deserve an investigation by the IRS.

Look, you can't just go around dragging entire classrooms into this without getting explicit consent from the parents first.

Nicole James said:And let's not forget the context—we are dealing with a pandemic involving a novel virus. We already know it can cause severe clinical issues in adults, and it can trigger multi-system inflammatory syndrome in children. Honestly, we still don't have a clear picture of how all of this might negatively impact their long-term health.

I mean, if we're really going to obsess over every single hypothetical scenario for every possible disease they might catch, we might as well just wrap the kids in bubble wrap and keep them under a glass dome forever.

Morgan Peterson said:Precisely. At this point, we aren't even discussing mathematics; we are simply discussing basic logic and reading comprehension.
Is it not true that not every child falls ill from the mumps, yet because a small fraction develops severe complications, we still vaccinate the entire population regardless?

The same logic should probably apply to those rushed COVID shots that were fast-tracked through under conditions we've never seen before. I mean, if you personally want to roll the dice with your own kid, fine, but don't act like that's some universal logical standard for every other child out there.
