I think that did the trick.

Or maybe it just fixed itself today and the cookies weren't even the issue? 😁

I'm reading enough to cover the whole wedding and the after-party. Sometimes that pretty much takes up the entire day. 😁

I didn't. But why does it log me out when I jump to a different subforum, like Zajedno za demokraciju, or even deeper into a sub-section like weddings?
I log in, but then I get logged out? in Forum Help! ·
So, I log in to the forum, but then if I navigate through the subforums—like the ones for weddings or pregnancy—I suddenly find myself logged out. Does that make sense?

I really don't feel like logging back in every five minutes. Plus, when I'm signed out, I can't even see my own posts or track which threads I've joined.

Has anyone else run into this issue?

A non-religious fast on Friday is pretty much the same thing as fasting on a Thursday.

Megan Reed said:Look, any sane woman is going to try to avoid abortion at all costs. And don't even get me started on 45... if she’s already had 45, it means she’ll do it again. How many more? Another 45? Another 90? That's just gross.

Personally, I'm generally okay with a woman choosing abortion under certain circumstances, but cases like this feel totally abnormal to me. I can't wrap my head around it or justify it. You know, she might be an otherwise great person, whatever, but I just can't stomach it.

ABORTION IS NOT A METHOD OF CONTRACEPTION, IT NEVER WAS AND NEVER WILL BE. So, I can't support it being used as one. :-/

But like you said, this example is EXTREME, even if it isn't the only one.

When she told me about this (this was about 7 or 8 years ago, and she was roughly 40 then), I was in total shock.

I kept thinking, "She could buy condoms. She could get her tubes tied. She could just say no. She could leave him." It just didn't make sense to me. 😕

Now, I don't even want to think about it because I honestly have no idea... I just don't know what goes through their minds. 😢

Megan Reed said:*In an extreme case like this, if I were in her shoes, I wouldn't give it a second thought... unless she's planning on having kids with that alcoholic. 🙄 The only real issue is convincing the husband. 😁

You really think you can talk someone into getting a vasectomy if you can't even get them to perform during sex? 😕

And besides... they probably don't have the cash for those kinds of "luxuries" anyway. 🙂

Megan Reed said:Excuse me, but I don't think she has any excuse whatsoever. One abortion? Fine. Twice is pushing it, and if she goes a third time, I’d personally want her ovaries and uterus removed. She should just get a divorce. Or figure out contraception. Or have her husband get sterilized. 😈

I agree that having the choice is fine, but we shouldn't be abusing that right. 😠

Is 🙂

There’s no justification here. She doesn't work, she’s old-school, and she lives in Greece. Why don't you come visit her for a few days before you decide whether or not she’s in the wrong?

YOU CANNOT JUDGE PEOPLE YOU DON'T KNOW.

That's exactly the point—nobody truly knows anyone else. You see people passing by on the street looking perfectly fine and healthy, but you can never actually know what they're going through or what their real reasons are.

Sean Grant85 said:I know you aren't making things up, but we really need to look closer at the ultrasound for that 56-day-old embryo. To me, it just doesn't look like an embryo. It’s got to be some kind of glitch on the website.

I think you're overthinking it.🙂

It's not a "website glitch" when it's appearing on every single site, from university portals to major medical center pages.

If you're so sure, why not just ask a gynecologist and let us know if they agree it's a mistake? 🙂

Sean Grant85 said:This is exactly what I’ve been preaching!
I can somewhat empathize with women choosing abortion when they have a really heavy, valid reason for it. But what I'm trying to wrap my head around are those mothers who already have two or three kids and still go through with an abortion for other reasons.

Here’s one extreme case.

I know a woman who had forty-five abortions. Why? Because her husband is an alcoholic and does whatever he wants without ever consulting her.

So, where does that leave us? Most people probably aren't dealing with situations like that. But you can never truly know someone's reasoning since you aren't living in their house or inside their head.

Sean Grant85 said:I doubt anyone would still call a 56-day-old organism an embryo. It feels more like a fetus to me at that stage. Isn't that right?

Every medical site I’ve looked at says it's considered an embryo until the 60-day mark. I'm just going by what I've read. 🙂

Sean Grant85 said:Is this 56-day one a bit premature, or is it just Photoshopped?

I really hope it isn't fake. I actually found it by searching Google for "human embryo."

Here’s another site with similar photos.

edit: I'm no biology expert, but it's an embryo during the first trimester, then it becomes a fetus.
How to track ovulation days? in Women's Health ·
I think it’s possible to test fragments of the placenta or tissue containing DNA traces, but I’m not entirely certain... and honestly, it feels like those tests are usually done during the earlier months.

Don't hold me to that, though—I could be wrong. You might want to run it by your OB-GYN just to be safe.

Megan Reed said:So you're basically equating a zygote—which I assume you're counting as a full person—with an actual human being.

Nature itself seems to suggest that a fetus shouldn't be treated as a human being. Take premature babies born in the fifth or sixth month due to complications, for instance. They rarely survive, and even if they do, they often face severe challenges and a very short lifespan.

If nature dictates that a fetus isn't a person, why should we try to claim otherwise?

I had no idea an 8-week embryo already looked so much like a "real" baby.😢
