Emergency: My friend is pregnant in Health ·
I didn't have the energy to read through everything, but from what I gathered, the guys here are all against this abortion issue, yet the OP made it pretty clear the father couldn't care less about the pregnancy.

The hypocrisy is unreal. 👎

As men, you can just walk away from parental responsibility whenever you want, but if a woman chooses an abortion, suddenly she's a murderer.

Personally, I'm still weighing my own stance on abortion—leaning towards being against it—but I just can't stomach the double standards people use to judge others.

Shame on you all.

What I'm dealing with feels about the size of a hazelnut. It’s definitely not tiny. Plus, my doctor mentioned it's an inflammation in the gland.

I guess I'm just wondering why she put me on antibiotics when everything I read online says this needs to be drained instead.

I only just figured out what this actually is today...

A few days ago, I noticed this little bump right at the entrance of my vagina. I went to see my OB-GYN today, and she told me it’s an inflamed Bartholin's gland. She prescribed some vaginal suppositories and some antibiotics, but after doing a bit of digging, I found this online, and it says it's a cyst that needs to be drained—it didn't mention anything about antibiotics at all.

I was wondering if any of you ladies have dealt with this before? How did you handle it?

At my height, which is about 5'9", I’ve fluctuated anywhere from 175 to 255 pounds. Right now, I'm sitting at 227.

Honestly, I love myself regardless of what the scale says. I’ve never skipped a night out, a date, or a trip just because of my weight. If someone can't handle me because of my size, then I don't respect them either—it's a mutual thing.

...I'm always open to professional advice! Over the last 14 years, I've seen countless psychiatristsdealing with anxiety. Someone mentioned how some doctors just try to "medicate" you away... I've definitely had those experiences too, which is why I eventually settled on my current psychiatrist. She's the one I trust most.

I don't mind being vulnerable and talking through my issues with people, but lately, I've realized how much it helps to have a psychiatrist who stays strictly professional. I need someone who doesn't get emotionally entangled in my problems so they can stay objective. It's different from talking to my husband or parents; when I'm struggling, they tend to get caught up in the emotion with me, but in those moments, I really just need someone who is calm and steady.

This is a brilliant film that captures human isolation perfectly.

I loved how little dialogue there actually was; the movie "spoke" through raw emotion instead of relying on unnecessary filler or endless exposition. Even the rare lines of dialogue felt deeply meaningful. It’s the complete opposite of your typical soap opera.

This isn't some grand romance. That "love" between Bill and Scarlett was really just a byproduct of loneliness—that desperate urge to belong and find someone who truly understands you. That line, "The crowd is not a company," hits hard. The main characters spend the whole time questioning what actually matters in their lives, only to end up right back where they started, clinging to what they already have. Honestly, that feels pretty much like real life.

It was a huge mistake that Bill didn't take home the Oscar. It's such a shame that Sean Penn snatched it for that loud, over-the-top role.

Come on, I'm pretty sure you had biology class back in the day. Everyone is born with a set number of follicles, and hair grows from every single one—it’s just variations in color, thickness, and length.

I'm just telling you what I KNOW. If you want to laugh it off, that's on you.

At the end of the day, I don't really care. Do whatever you want.
restlesspanther1 said:I get that, but honestly, if she wants to pluck them, let her... it’s still better than being hairy.😬

Instead of plucking, she should really look into laser treatments. If that isn't an option, waxing is way more efficient.

Tweezing is such a hassle...
restlesspanther1 said:That doesn't really make sense... every hair has its own follicle it grows from. Plucking one doesn't make them multiply...

It’s like when I wax my legs... they just end up coming back much thinner and sparser. I can barely see them anymore; pretty soon I might just stop dealing with it altogether. 😬

Shaving, tweezing, and waxing are all different things.
restlessmarlin6 said:Look, once that hair has grown in, pills aren't going to make it vanish overnight. 🙂
I usually just pluck them myself—honestly, it’s a decent way to kill time while I'm cramming for finals. 😁

Plus, laser treatments aren't nearly as pricey as they used to be.

I know some will disappear. I just don't think plucking is the move since it might actually make things grow back thicker.

Laser sounds like a solid plan, though. Just a heads-up: don't try to DIY any of that stuff.
Laura Jackson said:Look, I don't want to scare you, but this could be serious. I’m speaking from experience since I’ve been dealing with hormonal imbalances and PCOS since I was 18, and I'm 24 now. It's been a long road. There hasn't been any real improvement in those six years. Basically, you can't fully "cure" a hormonal imbalance; you just try to manage it and get things back to a normal range, if you can call it that.
Go see a gynecologist. They'll send you for hormone testing. They just draw some blood and then you wait about ten days for the results.
One piece of advice: stop plucking the hair. It might actually make things worse.
The doctor will probably prescribe birth control depending on your levels. At first, they put me on Diane, but it didn't do anything for me. It wasn't until I started taking jasmine, which is stronger, that I finally saw some progress.
You could practically write a book about your treatment at this point. If you want to talk more, feel free to DM me.
Just get to the doctor as soon as you can.

Same here. Dealing with hormonal issues—low progesterone and estrogen—and PCOS since I was 18 (I'm 27 now).

I tried Diane35 too, but it had zero effect. My cycle became a total mess about four or five years ago. Sometimes it would skip three or four months, sometimes even up to six.

A few of my friends have it too, and from what I've read online, it's very likely linked to weight gain, even if it's just an extra 5 or 10 pounds.

Since last year, I've lost quite a bit of weight (I'm not super thin, but I've lost weight), and my cycle has finally regulated. It's running like clockwork now.🙂

By the way, Lisa Barrett22, definitely don't pluck, especially not with tweezers. You know how people say: "pull one, and six more show up at the funeral." Let us know how it goes once you see the doctor. 👋
