Austin Evans on Montezemolo said:Give me a break... even someone with zero vision could see that Toyota looks almost identical to Ferrari. Even on F1-liv, they’re reporting that the media has started joking about calling the Toyota cars "Ferraris with Toyota engines."
Ferrari beat their rivals on the track. They don't need this extra drama... but if they have the grounds, they certainly have the right to complain and file a lawsuit.
Ferrari, especially during the Schumacher era, will always get preferential treatment; the FIA almost always decides in their favor.
Constructor standings follow the order of precedence, except for the reigning driver champion who takes number 1, leaving his teammate with number 2.
The numbers will be assigned as follows:
1. Michael Schumacher
2. Rubens Barrichello
3. Juan Pablo Montoya
4. Ralf Schumacher
5. Drew Anderson3
6. David Coulthard
7. Fernando Alonso
8. Jarno Trulli
9. Jenson Button
10. Takuma Sato
11. Giancarlo Fisichella
12. Felipe Massa
Say whatever you want, but Prost is absolutely right because Schumacher never allowed a teammate to possess his level of talent. Besides, that 1994 title was snatched through such shady dealings it's practically ancient history!
If we look at the legends of the past, Fangio had Stirling Moss as a teammate,
Piquet Mansell
Mansell also drove alongside Prost
While Prost shared the cockpit with Senna
Schumacher’s teammates were clearly a tier below him—Verstappen, Herbert, Irwin, Barrichello—they were all drivers who sat one to five seconds adrift of the true elite.
Schumacher is under contract with Ferrari through the end of 2006. This implies he’ll stick around until then, if not longer; though, would it really be such a shock if he ends up like Piquet did? (For those keeping score, Piquet drove until '91, by which point he was little more than a shadow of his former self)...
