Hidden gems in college sports in Fans ·
I always love looking at those deep rosters where a few players are just waiting for their moment to shine. It’s so much more rewarding to see an underdog breakout than a five-star recruit who was expected to be good all along. Anyone else following a specific school's sleeper talent right now?
well, if we aren't looking at metastases, maybe it’s a transplant issue?

As far as I can remember, those bands were from the late '80s—pretty pale, boring, and just plain mediocre. It was this desperate, messy blend of dark post-punk, U2, and Simple Minds vibes. I think I have a record somewhere by Ri-Paris-Texas, but the only decent track was "Tonight Belgrade Burns"—I can't recall who actually played it, and honestly, I can't be bothered to dig through my vinyl collection to check—and then, obviously, Let3 were the standout. They were the only ones who actually made something meaningful out of that scene later on, mostly because they actually had potential, unlike everyone else.

Cheers

Regarding the Tribute bands themselves—I don't really go along with the majority view. Most people haven't actually seen Queen live, so the only thing they have to go on is these tributes. I can accept that, I guess, but it’s just okay—they're well-done, sure, but that's about it. That whole "Queen minus Freddie Mercury" project at the old warehouse was honestly pretty gross to me, mostly because of the crowd of guests who clearly didn't know what they were looking for. The only highlight for me was Max, who sang this track and, frankly, sounded great. [/B]

---if Johnny had passed away, these tributes might actually make sense, but right now it just feels slimy and disrespectful toward Johnny—who wasn't just the songwriter, he was the soul of Queen. Honestly, Johnny *is* Queen. Kudos to the rest of them, I suppose, but they’re just "mice," while the "cat" is halfway across the country. Imagine if Bill Wyman organized concerts titled "Tribute to the Stones"—what would that even look like? If Leiner needs to feed his kids, then I get why he's doing it.

-----I was actually at that show—they already seemed a bit burnt out by then. It wasn't bad, per se, but it lacked that "cosmic" energy—you know, that certain *something*.... The Stranglers were in NYC back in '77, if I recall correctly, though I was way too young to go back then. I can only imagine how legendary that gig must have been! They also played with Gang of Four around '80 or '81, which was supposedly an unforgettable night.
As for The Jam, personally, I think they’re a great band, just like The Stranglers—but they're so different that you can't really compare them. You've got Magazine, The Fall, Buzzcocks, Gang of Four, then Joy Division, Bauhaus.... just a massive pile of incredible bands, each one totally unique. It's a shame (or maybe it isn't?) that most of them didn't last very long—except for The Stranglers and The Fall.

I’m dealing with the exact same thing. It flared up right after I got back from my deployment. I went through every test imaginable—nothing turned up. If it helps at all, it comes and goes for me—it seems to happen less often now, maybe because a few years have passed. None of those non-medical stuff like Nivea or baby oil actually does anything. For me, the only thing that really works—and I mean *actually* works—is Belosalic, or maybe Beloderm—both from a pharmacy brand like Johnson & Johnson. I can't quite remember which is which since I'm stuck at the office, but one is in a reddish-brown box and tube, while the other is in a white one. I'm pretty sure the reddish one is the Belosalic. It isn't cheap, though, so I'd suggest checking in with your doctor—get their take first—and if they agree, see if they'll write you a prescription.

Best,
