Chicken noodle soup recipe in Health ·
Shadowfax said:For anyone looking for this:

5 onions
2 green bell peppers
half a pound of beef
1 large celery stalk
1 large head of cabbage
2-3 cups of barley or lentils
2 beef bouillon cubes

Simmer for an hour and a half.

Hey everyone, I'm too lazy to quote everything, but I have a few questions...
1. What exactly is "beef" here? Is it ground or stew meat?
2. A head of cabbage? You mean spinach? Or kale? Since when do you call those "heads"?
3. How much water am I supposed to use for this soup?
4. How often should I be eating this? And for how long?
Chloe Morris12,

Can I just send a DM, or is an email strictly required?
Maria Perez87,

👍
I’m with you on this one,
Better to be healthy and a little soft around the edges...
Than sickly and skin-and-bones...

Though if I'm being honest, my ideal would be: healthy and slim...

But let's face it, the real priority is kicking the smoking habit... Once I finally call myself a non-smoker—then I'll deal with the weight gain.

Think of smoking as a chain reaction.
Every single cigarette is just hunting for the next one!
1. So, you light up—nicotine hits your bloodstream—and suddenly, life feels alright.
2. Then the nicotine levels start tanking. After thirty minutes, half of it is already gone. Within an hour? It's basically non-existent (which is exactly why most smokers end up hitting about twenty cigarettes a day).
3. Which means after a certain amount of time—you light up again—and you're right back at step one... and the whole cycle starts all over again.

The only way out is to break the chain! ! !
There isn't any other way around it....

Smoking is pure nicotine addiction... which is why you can't just "manage" it. People try (I've tried a million times myself) to just stick to five cigarettes a day.
It works for a few days... and then a party rolls around, or the weekend hits... and it's back to square one.

Ha... 🙂>

Are you kidding me?!

I am certainly not going back to smelling like an ashtray.
🙂 No thanks! I’m actually quite enjoying this whole non-smoker thing...
My skin looks better already. Clearer, more radiant... everything just feels better...
So, here's the deal,

It’s been exactly three weeks since I kicked the smoking habit for good. High five to me! :klap:
And honestly, things are going pretty smoothly...

But! There's a catch. I've already put on about two pounds! ! !
And if that wasn't enough, my stomach is constantly bloated... it feels like I'm five months pregnant or something.

People, I am begging you! Help! 🙂

Does anyone have any advice?
Dieting?
Workouts?
Anything at all?
I just need to get rid of this belly... and stop the scale from creeping up any further.

My PERSONAL take:
For some people, it lasts longer; for others, it’s over in a flash before they even realize they're hooked...
So, just watch yourself so you don't mess this up 🙂

What if you made a pact with your husband to both quit together?
Personally, I think Allen Carro is the absolute gold standard. I'm not sure if there's an American edition available, but you can always just read the English version...
I used that book to quit back in 1997—didn't touch a cigarette for a year and a half...
Then I messed up, and started again...
So, I recently picked up his other book, "Easy way to Quit Smoking for Women"... and today marks day 15...🙂

The whole point of his books is that you feel genuinely happy the moment you quit. Like, from that very first second... once you put out that last cigarette. By the way, you can actually smoke while you're reading the book. In the final chapter, you consciously smoke your very last cigarette—and just like that, you're a non-smoker!!!
And honestly, it feels amazing. 😍

It’s my 12th day today!
Heh... honestly, I feel great.

By the way, I actually quit smoking thanks to that Allen Carro book, "Easy way" or something like that. And I feel amazing. That’s really the whole point of his book: realizing how happy you are to have stopped, breaking that cycle where one cigarette just demands the next...
