Betting Shop Subforum Rules in Betting Forum ·
Raymond Cruz5 said:Looking back at all the time I've spent here, I honestly don't see the point of this subforum rule.
Why can't we just mention the numbers? And why do we have to prove them with scans? We're all anonymous here; nobody's privacy is being violated.
Where's the empathy for people struggling with gambling addiction? A lot of us—myself included—are pathological. Do you even realize what gamblers go through? The anxiety, the nerves, the hope, the disappointment, the anger... the sheer mental anguish and suffering.
When we're broken, we want to share that sadness just as much as the joy when we win. What's so terrible about mentioning figures? Why do you admins have to destroy us mentally? Isn't the shock from betting enough?
Please, just be human and realistic. Change these harmful rules that only cause frustration. This is a forum; everything should be allowed except insults, hate, and actual trolling.
Cheers!

I'll answer here, then move the posts to the relevant thread regarding the PDF rules.
Nobody said you can't mention amounts; you can, you just need to attach proof. It’s not about privacy. The reasons have been explained plenty of times already, but here’s the gist...
Joshua Garcia8 said:Well, look at the crowd... we've got everyone here, from serious players to jokers, students, retirees, ego-trippers, and those who aren't. Better to prevent the mess than try to fix it later.

If that rule didn't exist, people would post fake amounts that don't match their actual bets. Others would just copy someone else's big win, and if things went south, there'd be massive pile-ons, swearing, and chaos.
What do you mean by "no understanding"? In what way? Because posting wins/losses is restricted? I don't see the problem; attaching a ticket isn't rocket science.
🤷

Us (the moderators, not the admins) destroying you mentally?
Don't overdo it, please. You've actually left me speechless with that one.

Christian Miller48 said:They didn't ask me about the currency when I was opening my checking account? Does that mean it's in USD, or does the currency not matter for a standard account? I'm talking about a Visa Electron card...

It matters. A checking account can be in USD or foreign currency. You get a Visa Electron for both; on the foreign currency one, it usually specifies which currency it is—at least that's how it worked for me.🤷

Walter Edwards said:That’s actually the only critical thing to watch out for. Once an account has a transaction history, you can't change the currency. So, once you make that first move, you're locked in. If the account is still fresh, you might have a window to pick your currency.

When I opened my account years ago, I wasn't paying attention and picked the wrong currency. It was a nightmare trying to fix it so I wouldn't lose a fortune on conversion fees—I even threatened to jump ship to Neteller 😁

It looks like I have a Bank Account open, but just sitting there. My username exists, but I can't remember the password, and honestly, I don't even remember opening the account 🙂 I know for sure I never deposited anything, so hopefully, I picked the right currency when I signed up.

I just uploaded my ID and now I'm waiting to hear back about resetting my password.

Christian Rogers97 said:Can someone walk me through the whole process from start to finish on how to bet online at international bookies? (Anyone with actual experience please). I know people have posted about this before, but everyone tells me something different... basically A to Z. All I know for sure is I need to head to the bank with some cash and go from there...

Regarding those initial steps (opening an account), check the chat thread from today; it's all in there.
In short... go to a bank and ask if they provide a card with a CVV code for online shopping when you open an account. If they don't, try another one. I know Chase issues them, and Bryan Adams mentioned that Bank of America does too.

The best move is to pick the currency you plan to use at the sportsbook. Don't get ahead of yourself thinking about local currency; most sites won't support it. Most use USD, so it's smartest to open a USD account and then select USD when you register at the site.

Ask the bank how long it takes for the card to arrive. You can deposit money immediately when opening the account or wait until the card hits your hand. Once you have the card, you can either transfer funds to your Bank Account or deposit directly into the sportsbook.

Walter Edwards said:You should register right away; it takes maybe 15 minutes tops to fill everything out. You just link a credit card or a bank account (you can do both, or even multiple). Everything runs through your email—which basically acts as your username—so make sure you use an email with a solid, secure password.
You’ll almost certainly have to send over some documents. It’s not just about raising your limits (the more "verified" you are, the higher your transfer limits go), but also because of their identity checks and anti-money laundering policies. You'll be scanning things like your ID, utility bills, or bank statements to prove who you are and where you live. They might even mail you a code to enter on the site to verify your address. Verifying your account or card is pretty straightforward too—for a bank account, you just need to deposit a little cash, and for a card, they might run a tiny charge of maybe $0.50–$5.00 or something, which you then report back. Just a heads-up: be careful there and wait a few days, since you have to enter the exact amount down to the cent, and banks sometimes tweak the numbers slightly due to currency conversions.
You get to pick from plenty of currencies. I’d suggest picking the one you already use for your betting accounts to avoid getting killed on conversion fees; it’s silly to pay twice (like, once from the bookie to your bank, and again from your bank to your account). It’s best to have the same currency across your bookies, your bank, and your main account (meaning a foreign currency account if you're dealing in USD). Someone else already mentioned the percentages above, but that really depends on how "active" you are and what you're using the account for (if you end up in a "commercial" account because you're selling goods or services to individuals, the fees jump up, but for just gaming purposes, it's not that bad). Whether it's a flat fee or a percentage depends on how you deposit or withdraw. Money hits your betting account instantly. When you withdraw from the bookie, it depends on the company—Pinnacle, Leonbets, or Fonbet are practically instant, maybe a few hours; US-based bookies take a day or two; B365, Expekt, and other Scandinavian sites vary, while Bwin can take anywhere from a few hours to five days. Moving money from the bookie back to your bank depends on how fast your bank moves, but usually a couple of days max.

Thanks 🙏

I'm using USD from my foreign currency account now, and I use USD at the bookies too, so there's zero conversion. 🙂

Bryan Adams6 said:After the game. 😍

Or better yet—if anyone from Benfica, Napoli, or Lyon ruins my parlays today, I’m officially done for the night. 😍
So... you really went all out with all those questions. 🙂

As for the registration process, I can't quite recall—it was ages ago. But honestly, nothing about it felt complicated. If it had been a hassle, I definitely would've remembered. 😉
My currency is USD, which works perfectly for me. Didn't even bother trying to swap anything; the money hit my account in USD.
Using a card to fund my account is instant, though they take a 1.9% cut. Doing a bank transfer has zero commission, but the site says it takes 2–5 days. Honestly, I haven't actually tried that one yet. 🤷‍♂️
My withdrawal limit is sitting at $7,000 for a 90-day period right now. I could bump it up to $10k if I verify my address... but since I haven't even come close to hitting that first number yet, I haven't bothered increasing it. Probably just need to send over a scan of some utility bill or something.
The payout should hit my Bank Account in about 2 or 3 days.

Anything else? I'm on standby. 😉

Thanks, thanks. You covered all my questions. 😍

Your ticket's going to bust. Napoli is going to outplay them in the second half.
Best offshore sportsbooks for online betting? in Betting Forum ·
Yeah, looks like that’s the trick.

I’m actually thinking about switching over to a Bank Account. I asked once if anyone had experience with it, but nobody even bothered to reply. 😢

A Bank Account isn't online betting per se, but since they're linked, we can talk shop here.
What's the drill—registration and all that? How long does the whole thing take? I'm guessing moving money from the Bank Account to the sportsbook is instant, but getting a payout back to the account takes a few days, right? Do they need me to send documents? If so, which ones, and how do you send them—just an upload? And what about the currency situation? Can I pick my own, or do they just force whatever currency is used in my home country on me? One more thing, and then I'll leave you alone—what are the fees like? Is it a percentage or a flat fee, and do they pull that "one free transfer a month" stunt where they charge you for everything else? You probably should have just kept your mouth shut. 🙂

wiredpilot2 said:Which ones do you think are better overall?

What’s the deal with signing up at Bet365? Do they actually mail you something at your house, or am I just tripping?

Between Unibet and Bet365, I’d go with Bet365.
Signing up is easy. Just a heads-up though—you'll need to send over a scanned ID before you can make your first withdrawal.
I think they’re mailing something to my house for verification, but honestly, I can't quite remember what it was. 🤔 You have to enter that number you get in the mail somewhere in your profile, or something like that.

wiredpilot2 said:You're wrong. 🙂
For cards, you'll need a scan or a photo. But if they’re paying via a Bank Account, they can just pay out to it without any verification at all. 😉

Of course, the main thing is that they pay out to that same Bank Account.

Maybe you don't even need a Bank Account for this. 🤷

Christian Miller48 said:I'm thinking about using my Visa Electron. Can you walk me through how deposits and withdrawals actually work? From what I've read, some bookies take forever to pay out while others just ghost you entirely. Which ones are actually reliable when it comes to getting my money?🤷 ,so, which sites can I actually trust?

Once you register, just hit deposit, pick Credit/Debit Card, and punch in your card info and expiration date. For the Card Security Number, just use those three digits on the back. Enter the amount you want to load and confirm. If everything checks out, the cash hits your account instantly.

As for payouts, you're usually looking at two or three days before the money hits your bank account.
I can personally vouch for Bet365 and Unibet—never had a single issue getting paid.

Christian Miller48 said:OK, can someone help me out? I'm basically a complete newbie when it comes to online betting—just thinking about trying it for the first time. Since it's been three years since my last post, would anyone mind telling me which sportsbook is best for beginners? (Not that I really get the difference between us and the pros). Also, looking for the fastest and easiest payouts, and anything else regarding security being top-notch.

Thanks!
(Moved this from another thread, please reply)

Sportsbooks vary wildly. Before you pick one, check their actual offerings. You don't want to sign up only to realize they don't have the specific markets or types of betting you actually care about. Live betting odds aren't the same everywhere either. There’s no magic rule; it all depends on what you’re hunting for.

I'm not sure how you plan to fund your account—whether it's via Visa Electron, a standard credit or debit card, Moneybookers, PayPal, or something else—but make sure the site supports whatever method you prefer for both deposits and withdrawals.

Whatever site you choose, don't use fake info during registration. Most places will cross-reference your details with your ID before they let you take your first withdrawal.

Personally, I know for a fact I'll never touch Bet-at-home, and neither will I use Bwin. 🤷 The first one has terrible odds and selection, and the second is too quick to limit you. To keep things simple, just don't go making massive bets right off the bat...

Take a look at these:
Pinnacle
Bet365
Unibet

Also, check the minimum deposit amounts. Some sites require more than $20 or $30 just to get started, so see if that works for you. Pay attention to bonuses, too, but read the fine print. Most places require you to wager your deposit plus the bonus three times over before you can withdraw. Most importantly, just learn the house rules.

There are plenty of reviews online; give those a read too.

John Moore51 said:Yeah, that’s what I was wondering... why bother posting a slip if you're already naming a specific bet or payout? Especially when we're talking about ridiculous amounts like $6.75...

To me, the real rule-breaking is pushing people toward a guaranteed loss, like this—

Well, look at that post you linked—it's been nuked, hasn't it?

As for posting slips, those are just the rules. If you mention a dollar amount, you gotta show proof. Without that rule, things would get "interesting" with everyone just throwing out random numbers 😉

Joshua Garcia8 said:If he put down fake info when signing up, I don't think any of this matters.

Check out that sportsbook's rules. I'm pretty sure they require scanned documents, so if the registration info doesn't match his ID, they probably won't approve it.

So, here's the deal. A buddy of mine landed a steady job working on a cargo ship or something—doesn't really matter. Anyway, he left me his Bet-at-home account with some totally random username he used when he signed up. There’s about 300 USD sitting in there, and I was wondering if there's any way I can actually withdraw it???

Maybe through Moneybookers or something similar? Any ideas would be great...

Thanks in advance.

An account with fake info for online betting? If he used bogus details during registration, you're probably out of luck. Also, the whole "friend on a boat" thing sounds a bit sketchy. Just because he's at sea doesn't mean he'll never have web access again, right? Seems a little thin.

Check the site's Terms and Conditions. I'm pretty sure they require scanned IDs. If the registration info doesn't match the official documents, they won't approve it.

Mark Chase2 said:As soon as I ask, it's clearly not. 😉

Building a custom spreadsheet takes time—especially if you want it as detailed as I do. Tweaking existing ones I found online is an option too, but for portability, I’d rather just have a dedicated site to visit when needed instead of uploading a sheet to Google Docs or God knows what else.

I'm not sure there's any specific web app out there for stats.

Regarding the spreadsheet thing—yeah, it takes time, but once it's set up, you're just cruising through the data entry. You can always tweak, expand, or customize your own sheet, which you can't really do with apps. Honestly, I think it's better to spend the time building your own than relying on some random app for your stats.

I was actually going to mention Google, but you beat me to it. 🙂

Good luck searching!

@briskotter14, you can't upload a spreadsheet directly to the forum. If you want to show it off, just take a screenshot and post a link to the image.

Didn't register a card or anything, just logged in as a guest, grabbed a ticket number, and placed a bet. I actually won. Now I'm sitting on $50. I don't usually gamble, so I'm wondering if there's any way to move this money to an actual account? A buddy told me I have to keep betting for a while and hit a certain volume before I can make a withdrawal. Is that true? Appreciate any help..

Hey there!

The guys are busy arguing about who's bigger right now, so I can't really give you a solid answer. Besides, for amounts under $500, people usually don't bother responding.☕

Every online sportsbook has its own set of rules. Usually, they insist you can only withdraw to the same card you used to deposit..
Here's the link to their terms so you can check for yourself.. http://www.bet-at-home.com/lang/hr/agb.aspx#Top

One of the more interesting rules in there:
2. After placing a wager, the bettor confirms they have no prior knowledge regarding the outcome of any specific sporting event.

Can someone explain how bank transfers work? Is that an option, how do I do it, etc...
Let me know how you guys usually handle withdrawals on DraftKings
Also, just a heads up, I don't have a Moneybookers account, so any suggestions on how to get my cash out without one would be great
thanks 👍

What's the deal with that message?

If you haven't sent over a scan of your ID or passport along with a photo of your card, they aren't going to pay you. Pretty sure that's standard for all US online sportsbooks. Not sure about their other payout methods though.

DraftKings was actually my first online book, and payouts used to go straight to my Electron card without a hitch. Then they started this whole document thing... Anyway, it's the only time I've used them because honestly, their lines and odds are pretty terrible.
