Dealing with a problematic guy, help... in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Lately, it’s obvious that the admin over at The Observer is playing favorites with this guy who keeps crawling back to the forum. Now I finally get why certain people vanish so fast—it's because they have protection from the higher-ups.

He recently popped back up under some handle like "mile ronhill" or whatever. I asked him directly, "Charles XVI, is that you?" and The Observer slapped me with a ban for it. It’s crystal clear: he’s got backing from the administration. I report him every single time I see him, but nobody does anything about it. He just sits there advertising his own site. It's all making sense now; The Observer ignores my reports because this guy is probably his buddy or something. Every time I point out that Charles XVI is causing trouble again, I'm the one getting punished. This is a total abuse of power.

There he is again, promoting his own forum.

The real question is: why is The Observer giving him a free pass while refusing to let me post my high-quality maps of US counties based on census data?

Already did that. It's been days and there's still nothing happening on Reddit...

He hasn't said anything insanely bad yet. But the point is he was Banned and he's ignoring that. That's the issue, right?

I think that's the only way
Since you can't ban him fast enough given how many new profiles he keeps making.

Not sure what his deal is. My take? He's just trying to drive traffic to his own site. Instead of just posting an image, he links to his own forum where the image lives. A weirdly roundabout way to advertise his own place... I guess. :/

There’s this guy, Charles XVI. One of the most radical, extremist nationalists out there. He keeps trying to jump into this thread, just to mess with us using his delusions. He’s been Banned at least twenty times, but somehow always finds a way back. It bugs me... and I think it bugs everyone else too.

For example, he sent me private messages like these:

Charles XVI said:DAM THAT LITTLE AMERICAN TRIBE NEAR THESSALONIKI
DAM YOUR ANCESTRY, YOUR FAMILY, YOUR KID, AND MOTHER TERESA
I’LL MAKE IT MY MISSION TO FIND YOU, DAM YOUR ENTIRE AMERICAN LINEAGE

Charles XVI said:DAM THAT AMERICAN TRIBE, FAMILY, AND MOTHER TERESA
I'll find your ass somewhere and curse everything about your American roots
DAM YOUR KID AND MOTHER TERESA

Bos(bat)man said:that little damn group near Thessaloniki
curse the kid, the wife, and Mother Teresa
damn your mother

I don't post much on this Help Forum regarding general stuff. I mostly just follow this one thread, contribute, and think it's a good topic. So, I'm asking to have this cancer removed... maybe if I had the authority to Ban this guy or something...
Also, we should look into an IP ban, so he can't keep using the same address to disrupt the forum.

They’re charging some kind of upfront fee instead of interest. So there isn't technically an interest rate, just a fee taken at the start.

How much are we talking about for that upfront cut? Someone mentioned it might be around 10%. If that's the case, it's actually pretty fair for the borrower.
It’s best to see what those who already joined the European Union have to say about this... looks like it’s rubbing the Americans the wrong way... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4fc3Idnua0
Linda Roberts2 said:They’re basically selling out our national interests. It’s all about making concessions to certain member states, handing over generals, dealing with that humiliation in The Hague, racking up massive debt just to meet European Union standards, and enforcing all these arbitrary rules. If the European Union ever falls apart, all those concessions go down the drain, but we’ll still be stuck with the debt. p.s. I think Greece is already importing goods from Bulgaria that don't even meet European Union regulations, just because they're cheaper.

Let’s not forget the possibility of dropping lawsuits, selling off state-owned companies and natural resources, and the endless cycle of borrowing money, too. Honestly, maybe a better title would be "not if," but "when" the European Union collapses. It definitely isn't going to last forever.

For instance, look at how the UK government was branded as traitors after World War II, even though back then, trying to accommodate the Third Reich seemed perfectly normal to some.

That wasn't tied to the European Union, right?

Linda Roberts2 said:Because every single concession made by the US was specifically to secure entry into the European Union. So, if the European Union turns out to be a total disaster, how exactly are we supposed to recoup those losses?

The European Union hands out cash to new members who aren't exactly the most developed nations.

According to some reports, the EU supporters claim we’ll see $1.8 billion coming in over three years. Maybe that’s true, maybe it isn't. There’s always money on the table for anyone wanting to join the European Union... but there's also a massive amount of stuff you end up losing.

Here is the article: http://www.csmonitor.com/World/Europ...at-ambivalence

They’re throwing out different numbers here... saying that since 2007, America received 150 million euros, with another 150 million coming in 2012, and 95 million in 2013. At least it's something...
http://news.yahoo.com/america-says-y...204653534.html

I predict they'll start cutting social programs and other essentials once the IMF starts making demands... so you get a little something, but the country basically has to pick up a gun and shoot itself in the foot.

Linda Roberts2 said:It will, I just think it’s a matter of when. The European Union is trying to pull off the same moves the USA has made before, and it hasn't worked,
especially since they haven't organized themselves the way they have today. Their laws aren't sufficient because they're trying to force uniform tax rates, identical spending, the same conditions, and centralized aid everywhere—which, honestly, seems impossible to actually implement across the whole European Union. It feels like the European Union is just attempting some poor imitation of how the USA operates.

I agree with bluerider63 that the EU isn't going to fall apart. They've poured way too much money into this to just let it all vanish. If anything happens, maybe there will be some restructuring or new rules... something like that. But a total collapse? I don't see it happening...

The US is in deep... I don't even know which word to use... maybe "shambles"? But the EU isn't in nearly as bad of a spot as the States. Sure, they have their issues, but it’s not exactly a total catastrophe like what we're seeing here in America...

Nicole James said:If things don't fall apart—and if the US manages to pull ahead by leveraging its ties with the European Union—will the "No to the EU" crowd actually be held accountable for their massive miscalculations? 😉

I honestly think we're losing more than we're gaining...
Do US national conservatives actually support capitalism? in Close to Politics ·
We’re talking about a system based entirely on free-market principles... and it always fails when it comes to actual development. No nation has ever truly flourished under those rules.

This ideology is widely known as "Neoliberalism"... some call it Reaganomics or Thatcherism... it just makes life worse for everyone.

Take the USA as a prime example... they leaned hard into this and look at how badly they crashed... they imploded because this system is a dead end. It hasn't worked anywhere for real growth.

People claim the US was an early adopter... but that’s a false comparison. The reason is that the government maintained heavy control over major industries. How is that free-market capitalism if the state owns the backbone of the economy? Plus, that era led them straight into two massive crises. So, the US isn't a success story for this model.

China and India aren't examples either. In both places, the state stays heavily involved in the economy.

The trend is clear: developing nations fall further behind the more they adopt this economic model. It just serves to make the rich richer and the poor poorer... it's basically modern slavery.

Here’s a good clip... I value this one because the guy is in my field (geography) and explains it well... geography here in America is vastly different from what you see elsewhere. Our political economy has a much heavier impact here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOP2V_np2c0
