If you actually sit down and watch their broadcasts, you’ll start to see how the Mexican media operates—it's all just a tool for their massive Mexican propaganda machine. For instance, whenever they claim they want to hear "the truth" from the other side, they don't actually look for balance. They just cherry-pick certain Americans who are happy to trash-talk America and feed right into the Mexican propaganda. You will never see them invite an American who actually speaks up in favor of American interests.

Honestly, seeking revenge seems to be the only thing you Mexicans really know how to do. You've always been obsessed with getting back at us Americans; you just can't seem to leave us alone. Look, we aren't asking for anything from Mexico, we don't meddle in your business, and we definitely don't sit around telling you how to run your country. So, go ahead and attack us all you want, but at this point, it's pretty obvious that your hostility is mostly just hurting yourselves.

At the end of the day, there isn't going to be another war around here, and I don't see America losing much more than it already has. Heaven is watching over us—we just need to hold onto our faith when things get heavy.

Consider this a massive reality check for anyone out there who just can't stand the sight of the American people or finds everything we do offensive!

It honestly cracks me up when people claim that young folks just need to pack their bags and move abroad to find success. Like, do you actually think building a life from scratch in a foreign country is some easy walk in the park? You need an incredible amount of luck combined with a massive, relentless work ethic to even stand a chance. Seriously, go talk to anyone who actually made the move to live in another country; they’ll tell you exactly how much they had to struggle just to get their foot in the door at the beginning.
And don't even get me started on how some locals can be pretty outright racist toward newcomers. Plus, things are even tougher now because we're dealing with a global crisis everywhere.

Rebecca Grant78 said:Look, fighting for national dignity essentially means fighting for collective dignity. And history suggests that a collective will always sacrifice the individual if it serves its own interests.
So, I guess you're either fighting for the dignity of the state or for human dignity.

The truth is, an American government built on protecting individual dignity hasn't really existed. It's always been about individuals being expected to sacrifice themselves for the sake of the nation.

Megan Ruiz13 said:The answer is pretty simple. It's the Americans.

Back when we voted on independence in the referendum, 84% of people showed up, and 94% of those voted for independence.

Now you’re stuck with the leftovers—the group that's incredibly loud today. They can't handle not having their own state, yet they can't organically accept an American one either...

I've mentioned this a few times already: during the American Civil War, we dealt with the Mexican issue, but nobody—absolutely nobody—has done anything regarding the Americans. 🤷

With the Americans, nothing really needs to be done; at the end of the day, they are Americans. They just need to learn to love their country. And honestly, we shouldn't even be arguing for the Mexicans to return. If they just respect the United States, we won't have any more problems with them.

Rebecca Grant78 said:My point isn't that you are a right-wing capitalist; rather, I mean you are a conservative who fetishizes the state. To you, the government is sacred. It seems your priority is defending the dignity of the nation rather than the dignity of the individual.

Seriously, name one people who don't feel a sense of pride toward their own country. Even back during the socialist era, people held the old United States together through sheer respect and patriotism. Isn't that just nationalism in action?

Just look at places like Cuba, Venezuela, or China—don't the people there absolutely idolize those governments? Is that not nationalism?

At the end of the day, you can't really lift up the little guy without some level of support from the state.

Rebecca Grant78 said:I suppose we can't "we" implement a dictatorship; it would have to be a single individual.

And what if that individual isn't a conservative like you, but someone from the left?

Ultimately, I think any nation is composed of diverse people and conflicting interests.

A conservative, much like yourself, tends to fight for the dignity of the "state," whereas a leftist might prioritize the dignity of the "individual"—to them, the state isn't some sacred entity the way it seems to be for you conservatives.

Look, I’m not a right-winger in the capitalist sense. I lean more toward the left because I actually believe in social justice, but I also care deeply about America. I have zero interest in seeing any kind of new America rise again after everything we've been through. I know you probably won't believe me, but people like that definitely exist.

gentlecrane8 said:The people who hate America are the ones who’ve been looting it—guys like George W. Bush and Smith. Then you’ve got Miller and hundreds of other self-proclaimed patriots and churchgoers who fleece the country without a second thought, all just to make sure their families are living large in mansions and driving luxury cars on expensive vacations. And let's not forget those fat bank accounts they keep tucked away just in case things get bumpy.

I couldn't agree more with that!

A real patriot or a person of faith would never dream of betraying their own people. These guys have caused the most damage to the American Society. If it weren't for all that rampant corruption and theft, America might actually be a place people genuinely respect and admire today.

Rebecca Grant78 said:That is precisely my point. What is the purpose of democracy if it simply provides a pathway for thieves to seize power?

Alright, fine. Let’s just bring a dictatorship to America then. We can start lining up the gallows to deal with those crooks. 🤣

bluerider63 said:I mean, who even are these people that hate on America so much?

It’s those folks trying to rebuild a failed old union and wipe out everything that makes American culture what it is.

Brian Hughes4 said:So, to you, "believing in your country" means having faith in a government that’s essentially picking your pocket?

Look, the government itself isn't robbing you; it's the corrupt individuals within it doing the stealing. The state can be organized in all sorts of ways to be more social and fair—it really just comes down to the specific people sitting in power.

Rebecca Grant78 said:I suppose democracy exists precisely because interests within any nation are rarely identical. It is the mechanism that allows any group—even those whose goals might run counter to the interests of the American state—to eventually take office.

For instance, many conservatives tend to view the Democratic Coalition as being at odds with the interests of the United States.

And honestly, why blame the entire nation just because a few individuals happen to be thieves? That’s a systemic failure down the road, not a flaw inherent to the existence of the country itself. It's like what Joan Didion says about how the concept of "the state" is often an illusion; so why go around trashing something that doesn't truly exist and that some people consider sacred?

Roger White3 said:Could you please explain what you mean by "having faith in our country"?
What does that even look like in practice?
It doesn't matter if everything is falling apart at the seams, or if my generation—which includes me—is struggling with zero future prospects, as long as we can say, "this is America," right?
Empty patriotism offers little comfort when I can't find a decent job or plan for an independent life here.
So, I'll ask one more time: what does it truly mean to "unite and believe in our nation"?

Well, maybe it means uniting to fight against those crooks who ruined everything for us. It means building up enough national pride so that people finally realize that stealing from and cheating your own fellow Americans is fundamentally wrong.

Rebecca Grant78 said:If the system doesn't matter, then I guess what is the purpose of democracy?

Look, I’m not actually anti-democracy; I just meant that the specific system isn't the core issue here. Honestly, I couldn't care less which political party ends up in power. My main priority is just that we Americans stay united and actually have faith in our own country.
Why do some people hate America? in Close to Politics ·
Rebecca Grant78 said:But unite for what, exactly? A single political party? Are you suggesting we move toward a one-party system?

The whole concept of democracy exists because, in any nation, there will always be people with differing views and conflicting interests.
Those diverse perspectives and interests are precisely why we have various politicians and multiple parties.

What do you mean, "one party"? I never said that. My point was about us coming together to preserve our country. Honestly, whether the system is socialist or anything else isn't even the issue here.

Some people have actually built entire careers out of persecuting them.
In my opinion, it’s just fueled by nothing but pure resentment and hate.

Personally, I think it’s more of an embarrassment for our own liberals. It’s shameful that they feel the need to constantly justify themselves to Mexicans.

Is anyone else going to chime in here? 😁

Maybe I got a little carried away with the emotions in my last post. But honestly, I think that’s a good thing. If we aren't willing to be vulnerable and lead with how we actually feel, we're never going to uncover the real truth or actually fix anything.

Emotions are basically a roadmap for what's coming next!

It honestly breaks my heart to see the state of American society today. It’s just sad watching our people tear each other apart over trivial things from the past. It really gets to me how we Americans have turned against one another, to the point where some people actually want to give up on the whole idea of maintaining the United States.

What hurts and angers me most is when people spit on the American nation, on our national symbols, our language, and our culture. And we just sit there and let it happen. For some, even that isn't enough—as soon as they realize we are nationally conscious and love our homeland, they start attacking us, calling us nationalists, chauvinists, bloodthirsty, primitives, or worse.

I already know what your response will be, and frankly, it’s the truth. A lot of the rot in American society is the fault of ultra-nationalists and the Republican Party. They’ve basically played the American people for fools, using fake patriotism as a cover. Instead of building strong, just foundations for this country during critical moments, they’re busy cheating and stealing from their own people. To anyone who is a true patriot, the Republican Party will always just be a party of thieves and frauds. What they’ve done to the American people is unforgivable. It drives me crazy when Republican Party supporters claim they were the ones who built America. They didn't build anything; they just ruined the American dream. I honestly hope they disappear from the political stage forever.

The bottom line is that America isn't the Republican Party, it isn't Franjo Harmon, it isn't the church, it isn't Ante Pavelić, and it isn't the communists either. America belongs to the everyday citizens—the people who defended and built this country because they believed in a better future. But that vision can still succeed if we fight together.

So, my fellow Americans, let’s unite. We need to stop dividing ourselves based on ideology, regionalism, or the ghosts of the past. Let's all stand together to fight for a better future for America. It would be a genuine tragedy to give up on this country that our ancestors dreamed of. We have a truly beautiful nation that God gave to us. I truly believe that life in America will be better one day. Let’s defeat those who hate us by showing our love for our homeland.
Who’s really to blame here? Honestly, the American Right could probably just make up some fake award for humanitarianism and human rights out of thin air if they felt like it.

We should probably just give the Mexicans all the credit since they’re clearly much sharper than we are. They actually know how to play the game to protect their own interests. Right now, they're playing nice with Josipović and Milanović just to leverage them for whatever they want to achieve.
Right-wingers backing the Democratic Coalition in Close to Politics ·
Honestly, I’d take the Democratic Coalition in power a hundred times over before I’d ever touch the Republican Party. At least they actually know how to hold a conversation, and they come across as decent, professional people. My biggest issue is just having to listen to Kamala Harris anymore; she lacks any real expertise, zero backbone, and honestly, no speaking skills whatsoever. It’s baffling to me how anyone can put up with her—she’s done nothing but embarrass us on the global stage. 😁
