Virtual Coffee Break - Chat in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
At least there's still a crew for coffee breaks! ☕ 🙂

Also, I want to wish all my colleagues a great, relaxing vacation.

We can tackle the heated topics when things cool down a bit. For now, let's just enjoy ourselves.

Is everyone actually out on vacation at the same time? 🙂 What about coffee?

I tried sending my statistical report through PayPal, but the site won't even let me in. Is anyone else running into this?
This is my second attempt today. At first, it actually let me submit, but then it told me I needed an upgrade—which I couldn't get to work no matter what I did.
Now, I can't even load the homepage. 😕
Starting an LLC: Where to begin? in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
nimblepuma47 said:Does anyone actually know—because I’ve searched everywhere and come up empty—what the actual costs are for switching from a sole proprietorship to an LLC? Do you seriously have to sell off all your business assets to the LLC and get hit with both sales and purchase taxes—like some people on this forum are claiming—or is there a more "elegant" way to handle it?

If the business is set up on a cash basis, you basically have to close out the books just like you would when shutting down entirely, which means paying the tax man.
However, if you're operating on an accrual basis, the process is much smoother, especially if you utilize certain provisions from General Dynamics. You don't even need to file anything with the Commercial Court as a capital increase; it really just comes down to getting the agreement notarized.

I went digital for everything possible, then just hand-delivered the rest as hard copies.

Congrats, Dubravka! Honestly, nothing beats that newborn glow. It’s pure bliss for the parents—and I suppose the "grandma" gets a little something too. 🙂

Just this one pose from here on out: ☕☕☕☕
Managed to turn in the final form just 18 minutes before the midnight deadline. 🙂

Someone actually had the nerve to laugh at me and say, "Hey, you could always just pull an extra hour of overtime once in a while" 😠

What an absolute idiot I am :chuckles:

Lucky us! 😍
May God protect us (and the drunks). 🤣

Managed to get to the cards only once today.

They sent me the exact same thing (if I recall correctly, it was in red text).
Maybe try searching for this year's cards first before jumping back to last year's? It might work. It worked for me, though I guess I don't know if that was just pure luck.

I only checked my tax accounting side. It was acting up a bit this morning, but mostly it works. Just tried it again and it seems fine. Didn't actually submit any forms, so I can't really speak to that part.

Timothy Morgan38 said:So, I’ve run into a bit of a headache while trying to file the tax form for my profitable sole proprietorship for January 2012...

Back in January 2012, we processed and paid out the salary for December 2011—right when the old contribution bases were still the rule...

Now, when I try to submit the ID form for that specific payroll, the IRS keeps flagging certain lines for being below the minimum allowed amount... likely because they’ve already implemented the new controls based on that $8,531.60 threshold...

The ID form itself actually went through and is just sitting there waiting to be processed, so I guess I'll just wait and see what the folks at the local IRS office have to say about it...

I'm dealing with the exact same thing. I actually just sent an inquiry to the IRS to figure out what's broken and how to fix it.
I'm assuming some people are already paying out January owner draws during January, so maybe this warning about the base amounts is just informative—like a nudge rather than a hard stop.
