Money provides a sense of freedom, and that’s what really matters. You get to spend your time on actual interests and hobbies instead of just grinding away like a cog in a machine to pay the bills... working for someone else just to stay afloat. Of course, we live in a materialist society and cash is necessary, but personally, I’d abolish it if I could. Everyone would be happier. Sadly, it's just a pipe dream.
I went through that same kind of destructive love when I was seventeen... we were together until I turned nineteen.
I guess it hits some people earlier and others later. But yeah, it definitely left its mark on me. It took years to actually recover because I became so deeply attached to him. He was my first, and he knew exactly how emotionally dependent I’d become—which probably made him lose interest. He could manipulate me easily, and I just adored him. After that, falling in love again was an uphill battle because I kept looking for him in everyone else. Even now, I think of him fondly... you just can't forget those first loves. There isn't much else you can do but let time pass... you just have to wait for the healing to happen...
