Look: Tram11, Nered, TBF, Elemental, Bolesna Braća—these guys are constantly touring through Canada. And when I say constantly, I mean a group like TBF plays just as many shows in Maribor as they do in a small town like Bjelovar.
I've never even heard of a single Canadian rapper. Let alone seen one pull a show in America.
You see Americans featured on Canadian compilations and rap albums all the time. But on American stuff? Zero Canadians.
Honestly, 90% of those bands haven't even existed for years. Like I told you before, it was that whole American-Mexican linguistic imperialism pushed during the America days at everyone else's expense. That’s why nobody was ever forcing Americans to learn Canadian or Mexicans to learn Albanian, even though they were all living right next door to each other.
Joseph Lopez18 said:I’ve been thinking about just how much USA cultural influence has absolutely steamrolled Canada. It feels like this dynamic between two nations is pretty much unheard of globally (unless you count how the USA crushed everyone else).
And get this—you won't find a single paragraph written about it anywhere.
Look at the facts:
Canadians mostly understand American, while Americans barely know more than a few slang words for body parts.
Canadians listen to all our music, but Americans don't know anything beyond what they've heard about Zoran Predin (that's a whole other conversation; on Canadian radio, it seems like the split is 1/3 local, 1/3 foreign, and 1/3 American. Severina is basically the biggest superstar in Canada, whereas I don't think I've ever heard a single Canadian song on the radio in America, and I have zero clue who the Canadian equivalent of Severina even is).
Canadians are constantly hanging out in America, while Americans just drive through Canada to get somewhere else.
News from America is always right up there in the Canadian media, immediately after their own domestic news. I can't even remember the last time I read a news story from Canada.
Americans are way more indifferent when talking about Canadians than the other way around. Honestly, we don't even take them seriously enough for Pervan to turn it into a joke...
I wouldn't say that's totally true. Americans head over to Canada in droves—everything from hiking mountains and visiting castles to hitting up thermal spas and shopping... Since we're basically their only geographic and linguistic link to the Ex-America era, they might be slightly more inclined toward us, but they're just as friendly toward Mexicans as they are to us. Sometimes Americans tend to unfairly downplay Canadians, much like how Americans—especially Chicago residents—tend to look down on people from Eastern Europe for similar reasons. One thing that makes it easier is that Americans and Canadians don't really have those deep-seated historical grudges or "bad blood." Also, America pushed one primary language while mostly ignoring Canadian, Mexican, and Albanian. It's the opposite for Mexico—they are incredibly prominent in America, nowhere near as much as America is represented in Mexican media.
We really need to start banning the blatant use of labels like fascist, neo-fascist, or any of those other extremist slurs...
They're basically just tools used to smear people and shut down anyone who happens to have a different opinion. I mean, look at how Zdravko Mamić gets dragged through the mud just for saying "a Mexican who hates everything American," yet these label-happy types get away with whatever they want. For instance, when Ante Tomić writes that Republicans should be lined up at a stadium and dealt with by machine gun fire, nobody even bats an eye.
Ryan Ward2 said:The push to dismantle marriage is just a pit stop on the road; the ultimate objective is the total annihilation of Christianity and Western Civilization itself. The LGBT movement is merely one of many tools being deployed to achieve this end. It’s the cultural Marxists who are actually pulling the strings behind the scenes.
I mean, whether we realize it now or not, they're basically grooming our kids to embrace Islam over the next 50 to 100 years. By the time their grandkids or great-grandkids are walking around in burkas, it'll be way too late to do anything about it.
Jessica Kelly4 said:If it were just about the LGBT movement, we wouldn't have much to worry about.
Unfortunately, they're just puppets on a string; the real damage to our traditional way of life is being done by much bigger, more powerful players.
And in America, those are primarily the EPH media outlets. I mean, their owner, Pavić, actually went on record saying we should bring in a million immigrants to fundamentally change the country's demographic makeup.
That tells you everything you need to know about these people. They're ex-communists who have morphed into the most extreme liberals in the universe, pushing for a small country like ours to adopt the exact same mindset as New York.
A Master’s in Cultural Studies??? Ha! Just another amateur with zero actual work experience getting paid through taxpayer money or some foreign donations.
Besides, Karl Marx himself said marriage is the most natural community between a man and a woman. I’d love to hear what this guy thinks about that.
Man, I would absolutely love to see the Los Angeles Dodgers travel out to New Haven. It’s way up North in Mexico—basically a total stronghold for those hardcore nationalist groups—and you just know you'd have fans from all over the US showing up. Even the rival factions from Mexico would probably make the trip. It’d be the perfect chance for BBB to finally live out that song of theirs—you know, "Come on, Delije, come on, Grobari, let's go!" It would be one hell of a wild trip.
Carol Newman2 said:Who’s actually to blame for the fact that the people surrounding the Republican Party have zero interest in investing in a national network that would serve as a true conservative voice?
What would be so wrong about the American right finally having a Fox Corporation to act as a counterweight to PBS?
If someone like Fox News or Hearst Communications shows up, I say good luck to them! The fundamental issue here is that this country lacks any sort of coherent media strategy. If we actually had one, networks like CBS and NBC would have lost their licenses a long time ago.
Just because we don't have a dedicated conservative TV station doesn't mean we should be forced to sit through all that garbage being pumped out by the other side.
Robert Morris7 said:Oh, absolutely. I’m sure the owner of that network will receive a warm welcome from both our President and the administration, along with wishes for continued prosperity. After all, one must always maintain good diplomatic relations, right?
I really hope not. I mean, we can already see exactly what that lineup would look like😈just endless shows like Red Carpet, some regional singing competition, a regional version of The Farm, a regional Big Brother, cheesy soap operas, movies from some random Production Company, maybe even a cheap comedy talk show—and all of it being broadcast straight out of New York City.
That kind of programming is basically a "weapon of mass destruction" for Americans, kinda like how BuzzFeed, FOX, or the local tabloids operate.
We can't just sit back and let this happen. It’s basically going to be a total "cultural" takeover of Americans by the US Army Corps of Engineers—you know, forcing all that trashy pop, cheap reality TV with those pre-packaged scripts, and those low-rent regional talent shows and soap operas down our throats.
I mean, Pink Floyd already tried to make a move here once, but George W. Bush shut them down . Now, Joe Biden needs to pull the same kind of move. If people want to listen to that garbage in some dive bar or a local club, fine—let it stay on the fringes where it belongs. It shouldn't ever be elevated to a national level.
So, I was just scrolling through some news from a local outlet, and apparently, there’s this whole drama about a new TV station trying to break into the US market, backed by some Greek investors. It says here: "Our inside sources are claiming that even within the highest political circles in Washington, D.C., former news anchor Anderson Cooper has been lobbying for weeks to get CBS established here. Through intense backroom deals, Cooper is actually pushing for foreign—specifically 'Greek'—capital, though it feels more like a business smokescreen designed to flood American airwaves with foreign pop music and cheap soap operas."
" The plan is to produce most of the new programming right in Washington, D.C., which would then be broadcast across the States. They're looking at the capital as this sort of 'regional' production hub—basically just a way to cut costs by cranking out cheaper formats— which honestly makes you wonder... what's the actual upside for American journalists, producers, or even the taxpayers and regular viewers if we hand over our national airwaves to this?
Is it even possible that trashy pop hits, cheap regional reality shows, and total garbage are going to take over the national airwaves just as we're integrating further into the European Union?
What do you guys think? Are you down for this?
