As for choosing between local vs. general anesthesia... hmm, I’d personally go with general. I’ve actually had surgery under general before.
My first chat with the surgeon who's doing my nose job was all about using enhanced local anesthesia.

But then I met the anesthesiologist, and they basically told me: "Local for a nose job? No way."😁

How long did you have to stay in the recovery ward after the procedure? Honestly, I'm sticking to enhanced local anesthesia no matter what, regardless of whatever advice the anesthesiologist tries to give me.
Melissa Hernandez97 said:lonehawk8, I can't seem to send you a DM. Quick question though—should I grab that referral for the anesthesiologist from my regular primary care doctor? My ENT just gave me the results and confirmed they've scheduled me for surgery.

You got it!🙄

Come on! 🤣
Melissa Hernandez97 said:Hey everyone, I could really use some help here—I'm feeling a bit lost. I have my septum deviation surgery scheduled in three months, and I'm trying to get ahead of everything. My paperwork says I need to get blood work and urine tests done through my primary care doctor, but I'm totally confused about the anesthesia part. It says I need a consultation with the anesthesiologist 15 days before the procedure. Do I actually need to show up there with all the lab results from my doctor? I've been trying to call the number on the paperwork, but nobody is picking up. Also, if anyone is from Miami, do you know where the anesthesia clinic is located over at the main hospital? And do I need to go there just to sign up for the appointment?🙂

Bunny, who's going to be performing your surgery?

I've actually got my septoplasty scheduled for this September under local anesthesia, so I'll be sure to report back and let you guys know how it goes. 🙂
Has anyone here gone through with nose surgery under local anesthesia? I think I’m leaning toward that option after all.
My doctor asked me if I wanted an aesthetic procedure too, and now I’m honestly a little confused. How does the whole process actually work? Is he the one performing the cosmetic part, or is that handed off to a plastic surgeon? Also, for those of you who ended up getting cosmetic work done—did you have to pay out of pocket, even if the main surgery was done at the hospital?
So, I have a deviated septum on the right side, and I’m scheduled for surgery this September. My doctor told me it’s a totally routine procedure and that they’ll be doing it under local anesthesia. But when I went to sign up for the appointment and mentioned that the surgeon would be working with just local, the staff gave me these really weird looks. They even whispered to each other, "Since when do we do septoplasty under local?" Now I'm sitting here feeling super confused, and honestly, I've always been a bit of a nervous person. This is actually going to be my first surgery ever.

Personally, I think it nails the atmosphere way better, and the characters have this slightly different edge that just clicks with my vibe. It’s easily one of my all-time favorites. The main reason people sleep on it is simply because it’s a remake, but honestly, the film is fantastic and totally underrated; it offers a fresh perspective on the same core story, and that’s exactly how you should approach it. Of course, your take probably depends on which version you sat through first.

As for people asking for spoilers about the ending... good grief, you never know what kind of ridiculous requests you're going to run into on this forum. 🤣 🤦

I haven't seen Vanilla Sky yet. I finally sat down and watched Open Your Eyes this past Saturday. Usually, I'm a "the original is always better" kind of person when it comes to remakes, but I don't know, I'll give Vanilla Sky a shot since 😍Cruise is in it, then maybe I'll have more to say.

P.S. Leave Hurts alone, guys. This thread is for talking about the movie, not for picking on her because she hasn't finished it yet. 😁

Even if it feels a bit "scattered," it has its perks—for instance, it skips > that murder at the end spoiler>>, which felt unnecessary in the original version. Plus, there's that scene in Times Square.

There is one specific detail from the original that I noticed, and I think it’s vital: > the fact that Sophia never actually fell for Caesar. Their romance only truly blossoms within that "dream." He also keeps a friend he lost in the real world, and all the chaos happening in his dream seems like his own conscience punishing him for his past actions—like how Nora keeps haunting him... and so on. spoiler>>

👍

@Family, nope, I'm not! 🤣
mistyotter35 said:They aren't fake—they actually happened—but I suppose they feel fake because those shared experiences don't really exist anymore once that morning passes, especially since the ending takes place 150 years later.

I think I see it much more simply than that. 🤷
mistyotter35 said:E. L. E explained to him what actually went down after that morning, so they decided to pick that exact morning to start the virtual reality sequence, which wraps up right at the end of the movie.

Yeah, but wait—how are Anthony, Sophia, and his friend supposed to be fake? 🙄
mistyotter35 said:Well, by the end of the movie, that "avatar" figure, E. L. E, explains that his perception was essentially hijacked the morning after his intoxication.

Yeah, if you ask me, nothing actually happened after the drinking binge. It was all just a dream, and then in the morning, Sophia finds him out front and tells him, "Open Your Eyes."🤣

What do you think?
I found it pretty gripping, though I honestly got so lost that I couldn't tell where reality ended and the dream began. Here’s how I pieced it all together: there was a car crash involving Nora, she passed away, and he was left physically broken. He started having those dreams that night while he was running toward Sophia's place, where he ended up staying overnight.
What are your thoughts?
So, how did you guys actually wrap your heads around this movie? Everyone seems to have such a different take on it. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Right off the bat, we meet Caesar (Edward Norton), this charming young businessman who basically lives life in the fast lane, leaning hard on his good looks and high status—you know, the whole flashy cars and beautiful women routine.

His latest one-night stand is Nora. But Caesar isn't really the type to handle intimacy, so he tries to distance himself from Nora, who turns out to be pretty intense and refuses to just let things go.

She ends up making a scene at Caesar's birthday party. To deal with the drama, he decides to use Sophia (Penélope Cruz)—who happens to be his best friend's potential girlfriend—just to get this troublesome ex out of his hair.

The next morning, Caesar finds Nora waiting in a car outside his apartment. She manages to shove him into the vehicle and, in a total fit of jealousy and madness, slams into a wall. She doesn't make it, while he survives the crash but ends up with his face hideously disfigured.

To top it all off, he ends up behind bars facing murder charges, and even Sophia, whom he’s already started seeing, can't look past his appearance to stay with him.

I'd love to hear what you guys think about this movie. It's been a long time since I've seen one this good. 😍
