Rhinoplasty: Experiences and recovery tips?
in Health ·
Can anyone give me a ballpark figure for a rhinoplasty? I'm looking at getting a hump removed and some lifting done.

My sister dealt with a deviated septum along with a bump, so they straightened everything out, including the bone. She had the procedure done at Firulama under Professor Račić. The swelling was minimal—just around the nose area for about a day—and she didn't even get bruising. Just a bit of yellowing under the eyes on the first day, and that was it. I've heard from other doctors that patients usually deal with much more swelling, but this surgeon was extremely careful; I guess it really comes down to the surgical approach and the level of attention given. Removing the tampons was painful, though; she had to have them pulled twice. First, they took the lower ones, then they came back for the deeper ones because her deviation was significant and the doctor wanted to leave some packing in to let the septum stabilize. That second round wasn't painful at all. She says her nose feels completely straight already—she either saw it or felt it when changing the cast, I'm not entirely sure, but she doesn't get the cast off until Friday, so we'll know the final result then. From what I've observed, the doctor did an excellent job 🙂.
So, if anyone is considering surgery in Miami and is torn between a hospital and a private clinic... here's another data point for you. Cheers!
