I can't quite wrap my head around the logic of this sentence...
Are you suggesting we assign specific meanings to our emotions through thought, effectively projecting them onto external objects? If that’s the angle, I'm on board.

Honestly, I haven't the slightest clue myself.

Words spoken, words retracted.

Unshaven, uncombed, a total mess, and a fashion sense that could be described as disastrous.🙂

People go about pinning their happiness onto material things, or trying to anchor their love to some tangible object, but both of those pursuits are ultimately hollow without an actual subject to hold them.🙏 😎 😎

Sex is fundamentally unhealthy.

Now I’m completely lost—what exactly are you trying to defend here?🙂

Why would anyone blow off work? What's the point of skipping out during the day?

It’s about the risk of getting caught red-handed...

You wouldn't believe it, but I once spotted a used duck at a flea market in a small town outside Austin.😂

The thing was completely bald.😂

It seems to me that emotions don't even require an object. They arise and shift internally, even when there isn't any external stimulus to trigger them.

An opinion is simply the act of assigning specific meaning and objects to those raw emotions.

Check it out, the new look for Karen Sanchez19 (designed by Neven Ciganović):

Ciganović🙂 is essentially the complete opposite🙂

By the way, that woman standing next to Karen Sanchez19 is Dragonfly.

Man😳 , if only she were standing next to me😉 🙂 🙂 🙂

Once the striptease is over🙂 🙂 😍

"Classic love" is just our own narrow, personal experience of affection. Meanwhile, this idea of "universal or absolute love" being synonymous with "consciousness"... it doesn't actually manufacture love itself. It merely simplifies the concept to match whatever level of spiritual maturity we've managed to scrape together. In reality, there is zero distinction between the two; the gap exists only within our own limited perception.

Why on earth are you equating consciousness with love? I have to say, I couldn't disagree more...
As you can tell, I've gotten myself hopelessly tangled up in these definitions of love and consciousness, so I see no point in attempting an explanation.😁

Look, the Forester and the Woodcutter🙂 explained it far more elegantly than I ever could. You might want to stop by their thread.

What does "love" even mean? I honestly don't get why people feel this constant, desperate need to amplify every single little interaction they have with one another.
It’s hardly relevant to the physical world, but then again, I already warned you that terms would likely be misinterpreted here.

Quincy:
Besides, people are much more pleasant when you don't actually have to see them.
It seems like you only have an appetite for dolls.🙂 🙂

I could gift you a small air compressor, just so you don't have to spend every evening blowing things up manually.😂

Seriously, go find something productive to do for once.
Maybe try looking for flaws in your own logic before pointing them out in others—unless you’re busy multitasking between a bedroom session and typing on this forum at the exact same time.🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂😂

Quincy:
P.S. ever since that soap opera ended.
🙂

Quincy:
Hmm. And what’s the actual difference there? Other than the "target" of the affection.
True love doesn't require a subject or an object; any love involving both is just possessiveness... it's ego-driven, an obsession with one's own consciousness...

In reality, love is simply love. This other thing? I wouldn't even call it love—it's more like an absolute state of being.

Baphi, Ravan, my apologies for cutting the chat short.😉 🙂 🙂

Even our friend Karen Sanchez19 is a fan, despite her gender.
The Villa Maria isn't just some run-of-the-mill mop; it’s the only decent one we have left in this country.🙂

It was the exact same story with God Brother. Everyone on the boards was talking trash—calling it garbage, mocking it, acting like they were too sophisticated to even look at it. Then, fast forward two weeks: suddenly, there hasn't been a single new post in five days. Silence. Total vacuum.🙂 🙂 🙂

What kind of sensation is it? It isn't merely a feeling. It is quite literally Everything. It permeates everything; it is within all things and constitutes all things. Love is our true essence. We were forged from love—more accurately, OUT of love. Our very soul is love.

God is love, and love is God.

Please, enlighten me as to why you even started this thread. I'm curious...
One must distinguish between universal, absolute love—which is consciousness

And what we call standard "love."🙂

I have no idea, perhaps🙄

The body is going to die eventually; why should I lose sleep over it? It’s simply more practical to maintain it now to avoid unnecessary complications later.

Look, if you want to hit the gym, go for it. No one is stopping you. But let's be real—that physical shell isn't actually "you." You weren't "you" when you were stuck in a wheelchair, and you aren't "you" just because you're lifting weights.🙂 🙂

It's just like reincarnation works. A body isn't some vessel where a soul enters and exits; think of it like reading a book. The pages turn before our eyes, but who we truly are remains constant—like the reader in this analogy—completely untouched by the plot.

No need to repeat yourself; you've already made your point clear.🙂

Stop trying to hunt yourself down in an endless loop of ego-driven nonsense.🙂

No, I am neither nature nor Maya, nor mind, nor body—or so they claim.

So what exactly are you destroying? You’re trying to control a Maya that has nothing to do with who you actually are.🙂 🙂 🙂

Isn't the whole point to detach our true essence from this senseless identification with a shifting, shaped reality?

But by attempting to destroy or manipulate Maya—which isn't even part of your core self—you're just biting your own tail and spinning in circles.
Buddhism in Spirituality ·
I’ve been scanning through all these various spiritual philosophies floating around this forum, and frankly, it all feels like a thinly veiled grab for control. It seems humans find it utterly impossible to stomach their own volatility—that constant state of flux and impermanence. So, they hunt for some sort of anchor. A rock to cling to. But while they’re busy grasping at shadows, they find nothing. It’s only when they finally stop searching that they realize they were fine all along.

👍
Yeah, I want control. I want to be stronger than nature, stronger than maya.

How can "you" possibly be stronger than maya when "you" are nothing but maya itself?🙂 🙂

Why would I accept my impermanence? Why? Is it just because it's easier than trying to change it?

You want to change Sammy May😂 , yet you don't even have a clue 🙂who "you" actually are.🙂

Singing the song of Bhaj,
The "I" drags its heavy "ego."
At the ashram, maya takes hold,
And the May guru is just a duck like Paj.

😂 👍

But look—you ARE that nature. You ARE that maya. How can you possibly be anything else?

Well, aren't we just a little genius here. Such a smart guy.🙂 👍

Good morning, everyone.👋

Just woke up.🙂

It’s 2:40 AM. I hit the sack at 6 PM, thinking I could actually catch some decent rest.😂
After clocking ten hours of sleep, my brain is wide awake. It's useless.
And strangely enough, I actually remember a dream—it's been ages since one stuck with me. I'll post the details in the dreams thread later.😁 😁

Come on, pull up a chair and talk to us a little bit.

If an enlightened person doesn't realize they've reached enlightenment, then the concept itself is a ghost. It ceases to exist. There's nothing left to debate.

If American scientists approached their research with this kind of circular logic, we’d still be living in the Stone Age.🙂 🙂

If an enlightened soul doesn't realize they've reached enlightenment, then enlightenment itself is a myth—and frankly, we’re just wasting our breath debating it.

Don't try to pull a fast one on me now.🙂

I am asking you DIRECTLY.

Even if I'll concede that your response was clever and sharp...😉 😁

There is nothing left to say.
😁

Heh.

How can you possibly be certain that you don't simply lack the awareness to know you aren't enlightened?🙂 🙂 😂
