Project: Find a Friend (Classifieds / Meetup Thread) in Psychology & Therapy ·
I’m looking for my people—a crew, some friends... basically, just want to meet some new faces who actually vibe with my interests. To be clear, I am not looking for a relationship; this is strictly about finding good company. I’m hoping to find someone (maybe a little crazy) who wouldn't think twice about heading out for a midnight stroll. Someone (ideally creative) who can hold a conversation that doesn't feel scripted and actually enjoys both talking and listening. Or maybe someone (cheerful, or perhaps just in need of a bit of cheer) who knows how to have a blast without relying on alcohol—don't get me wrong, I don't mind if others drink, but I don't drink myself, and I'm tired of being judged as "conservative" or "boring" because of it. Trust me, that isn't me at all. 🙂 Above all else, please just be real with me. I value honesty above almost everything.

My interests include long walks, cycling, urban exploring, dissecting movies and series, hunting for new music, ice cream, nature, and animals. But honestly? Nothing beats a deep, meaningful conversation. Ideally paired with ice cream. On a park bench under a tree.

Age range: 21-29
Location: Washington, D.C.

I’m currently away from Washington, D.C. for work, so meeting up in person isn't an option until mid-October. That said, please reach out anyway so we can chat and get to know each other in the meantime. 🙂

Looks like I’m going to have to sit this one out—something unexpected just popped up on my end. 😢 Have a blast without me 🙂

They stay open until 7 PM on Saturdays.

I'm with you on that—I was honestly just joking around. I really hope I didn't step on anyone's toes. :/

Hmmmm, I’m a bit skeptical about meeting up with total strangers, but I do have a soft spot for adventure—so... maybe (and I mean *maybe*) I’ll show up. 🙂

Anyway, here are two ideas if we decide to meet up near the Main Code Monument. It’s right by the Botanical Gardens, so we could take a stroll through there. My other suggestion is this little park here—a friend told me they actually have those cool swings where adults can hang out too (which is something I find pretty hard to come by in a city like Chicago; please let me know if anyone knows of any other spots like that 😁).

So, what’s the actual vibe at these meetups? Do we all just stand in a circle and start introducing ourselves like, "Hey, I'm XY and I'm depressed," and then everyone else goes, "Heyyy, XY"? 🙂

I thought the movie was alright. It wasn't exactly groundbreaking or anything—nothing to write home about—but it was decent enough to watch.
