Chime: My experience so far in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
I have a quick question 🙂

My Chime account has been registered in Canada for quite some time now.
Now, I’m looking to switch the registration over to Germany.

1. Will I lose any of my current perks—things like being able to use Affirm, those negative balances, or credit options?

2. How much of a headache is the residency verification process? Are we talking about a mandatory video call or something similar? I didn't actually do a video verification when I first opened the account, though the account and card are working perfectly fine as it is.

You won't be charged a cash advance fee.

My assumption:

Withdrawals at Chase ATMs should be free, while any other machine will charge you whatever the standard out-of-network fee is when you use a debit card at a different bank's ATM.

Does it say anything about the minimum age required to open a PayPal account?

Let's say she isn't old enough to have one

Edit: from what I can see, it doesn't say

Hmm, I suspect minors might be able to.
But they won't be able to use PayPal, that's strictly for adults.

Carl Doyle92 said:Greetings. I find myself pondering a logistical curiosity: is it actually feasible for someone to send funds via Western Union directly to my bank account, thereby sparing me the tedious necessity of physically visiting an agent location to collect the cash in person?

I can't say for certain, but honestly, I don't think that's how they operate.

Look, I don't know what kind of salary you're pulling in, but with Mobile Banking, you can carry an overdraft of up to $2,500. Now, whether that’s based on one month's pay or three, I haven't a clue, but if you're looking to run up a massive debt, just stick with that old credit line for $30; that's what I did, and let me tell you, my balance is deep in the red.

My mom switched over to JPMorgan Chase and set up a consolidation loan $56667 to wipe out those smaller debts. They handed her a standard Mastercard with a $3333 limit and a Walmart Mastercard with $5667 immediately. They even worked out an overdraft limit of $30,000.
On top of that, there’s another $19,000 in the checking account designated for installments/MBPlus.

She moved away from Capital One.

Monthly salary is $7,000 (LLC).

Does anyone happen to know which bank offers the highest overdraft limit?
Usually, they cap it at about 3x your monthly salary.

Thanks

rapidskipper12 said:Not really, card issuers aren't part of the OSR system. By that logic, you wouldn't even list RBC and their mortgage division separately. It's all just under RBC. 😉

Funny enough, PNC Bank isn't on the list, but they show up in DOR.

Check the screenshot I posted a few threads back.

Jeremy Hall43 said:You can't exactly search for it in the OSR. HROK might have been able to, though. Neither Chase cards nor Citibank cards are included in the OSR system, but there's a link that uses the same thing:

I was looking through the user terms on the HROK website earlier. It’s pretty standard stuff if you’re used to reading fine print, but I guess there are a few things worth noting for anyone actually planning on using their services. The breakdown covers how they handle user data and what the responsibilities are on both sides. It’s mostly the usual legal jargon regarding liability and service usage, though it does lay out clearly how they manage account security and any potential disputes. If you're planning on linking a Chase card or a Citibank card to anything within their ecosystem, you might want to pay closer attention to the sections on transaction processing and data privacy. It seems fairly straightforward, but then again, these things always have those little clauses that can trip you up if you aren't paying attention. Just a heads-up to read it all before clicking "agree," I suppose. Not much else to say about it, really.

They don't function like a card processor within the dispute framework.
Rather, they act as the bank backing them up. For a Visa Premium, you're dealing with JPMorgan Chase, and for Diners Club, it's Diners Club.

wanderingranger15 said:-Does anyone know why bankers are so obsessed with whether you have an account abroad or if you're planning to move overseas? Or if you hold dual citizenship?

And do they care if I have an account at another bank here in the States?
If I actually tell them, are they going to swap data with that other bank behind my back?

I’ve just noticed they ask this all the time at the teller window.

They’re asking because they don't want to issue you a nice, easy credit line, an overdraft, or a credit card, only for you to hop on a plane to Germany and leave them holding the bag while they try to collect a debt from someone halfway across the world.

Legally, they can't just trade your client data around without your consent—unless, of course, you’re dealing with banks within the same massive conglomerate. You know, like if you have accounts at both Citigroup and JPMorgan Chase, or maybe Goldman Sachs and another branch under the same parent group.
I can't say for certain how much those corporate groups share internally.

JPMorgan Chase: What are your experiences? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Susan Baker6 said:I took out a loan way back in December 2019, so I had to deal with all that paperwork then, but honestly, I haven't heard anything new since.

Look, my buddy's personal loan at JPMorgan Chase was actually approved on May 20, 2020. It was just a standard unsecured loan, $58333. The bank required three months of checking account activity, three certified pay stubs, and a letter from his employer. On top of all that, he had to switch over to them to refinance an existing loan he had at Wells Fargo. To pull that off, he needed an official statement showing his current debt balance. That little bit of paperwork cost him $10.

Kevin Morris12 said:Is this a new policy, or has Chime started offering overdraft protection to everyone regardless of their income? Last year, they bumped my limit up to $1,500 since I have regular deposits hitting that account. But a buddy of mine—who basically just uses his account as a backup for occasional card swipes and doesn't have any steady direct deposits—just saw an overdraft banner popping up. It offered him a "eligibility check" (or whatever they call it), and he was immediately cleared for a $500 limit, which he took. The interest rate is sitting at 8.9% 🤔

How long has he been with Chime?
How much cash has he actually deposited?
Which state is his account registered in?

Square for business? I know you can order one, but do you actually run a company or something? Or did you just link a standard account and call it a day, or was there some actual verification process involved?
