Honestly, if Hulk had been behind the wheel at Williams during those years instead of Bottas, I truly don't think he would have delivered anything less than similar results. 😉

Bottas really caught a lucky break landing that Williams seat, especially with the Mercedes engine power and having Mass as his teammate.

You seem to be overlooking one key thing: Williams actually got quite lucky being ranked as the 3rd or 4th best team on the grid back then. Force India was never really knocking on the door of the top tier. 😉

2014.
Williams finished 3rd, while Force India took 6th...

2015.
Williams came in at 3rd, and Force India was 5th.

Personally, when I look at who actually belongs in the winner's circle, my money is on Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, and Daniel Ricciardo. I just don't have much faith in anyone else. To me, the rest of the field just doesn't measure up. Sebastian Vettel definitely earned his stripes and did his part, but Valtteri Bottas? He just hasn't been hitting that level for me... as for the others, they’re pretty much just background noise. 😉

If Daniel Ricciardo were sitting in Sebastian Vettel's seat over at Ford, he’d be a much more legitimate threat... though honestly, Lewis Hamilton is still the gold standard on the grid right now. That said, I really think Daniel Ricciardo would push him harder than Vettel ever could. To me, Vettel just lacks that specific mental toughness; the second something small goes sideways, his whole game falls apart, and he loses his cool. You just can't compete at this level if you can't handle the pressure. 😉If Daniel Ricciardo had been in that Mercedes-Benz seat instead of Nico Rosberg, I'm convinced he would have walked away with a championship too. 😉He definitely has what it takes to beat him if he's actually given a fair shot. 😉Sure, he might not possess that raw, once-in-a-generation natural talent that Lewis Hamilton has, but with enough grit and training, he could absolutely close that gap. 😉

No offense intended, but I honestly think Valtteri Bottas is a worse driver than Sergio Perez. xD Personally, I see Hulk Hogan as being in that same tier as Perez. 😁I just don't view Bottas as an elite driver; I don't see him ever reaching the level of a world champion. 😉

Daniel Ricciardo is a lot like Nico Rosberg; if he can just find that extra bit of motivation and get his head in the right space through some mental training, he could actually take him on.
And honestly, Hulk Hogan is definitely performing better than Valtteri Bottas right now. 😉

Ric Flair is on a whole different level.

I mean, sure, but Hulk Hogan is still rock solid, just like Sergio Perez. 😉 He’s a great driver. 😉 Not necessarily the absolute best out there, but he's incredibly reliable and a total class act. 😉

Edit:

If I actually had to cast a vote, I think Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair make up the best driving duo on the grid.😉

I honestly think he’s just dealing with some opening-round jitters and that natural sense of awe that comes with getting paired up with a brand-new teammate. It’s totally normal, and I'm sure once he settles in, he'll find his rhythm. 😉

Grosjean drove for Lotus when they were using Renault engines... but honestly, I'm just as confused by this as you are. XD
F1 Montreal GP: June 7-9, 2019 in Formula 1 ·
If we were actually putting this to a vote, who do you think would be the first to ditch Mercedes:
1. Ferrari
2. Red Bull-Honda
3. McLaren or General Motors

Personally, I'd put my money on Red Bull-Honda. 😉
F1 Montreal GP: June 7-9, 2019 in Formula 1 ·
I’m sticking to my guns on this one. If Honda had signed with Red Bull Racing right out of the gate instead of going with McLaren, they’d probably be sitting on multiple championships by now. As it stands, they're still stuck in this long, drawn-out period of trying to get everything synced up perfectly.😉
F1 Montreal GP: June 7-9, 2019 in Formula 1 ·
Let’s be honest, their chassis is still basically a hand-me-down from General Motors. It’s actually a really solid foundation, but it’s going to take them a good while to fully optimize everything to work in perfect harmony. 😉

And honestly, if you take Pierre Gasly out of the equation, they’d probably look like a completely different team. If you combine those Ferrari wins with a slightly more competitive version of Gasly, they’d definitely be fighting tooth and nail for second place.

Switching between two completely different engines in Formula 1—like moving from a Renault to a Honda—is basically the same thing as redesigning the entire architecture within Honda's own power unit. And we all remember how much of a headache Honda's architectural shifts turned out to be. This situation feels similar. It might sound trivial on the surface, but trust me, it's anything but. 😉
F1 Montreal GP: June 7-9, 2019 in Formula 1 ·
Let’s be honest, swapping out an engine in a Formula 1 car isn't some simple task. It’s definitely not like taking a Yugo 45 engine and dropping it into a Fiat Punto... I know that sounds like a total understatement, but it’s just not that straightforward. Even if you think you're just swapping parts, the complexity involved is on a completely different level. 😉
F1 Montreal GP: June 7-9, 2019 in Formula 1 ·
This is their first full season without Fernando Alonso and without Honda, and honestly, the difference between Alonso's car with Honda versus his car with Renault feels almost non-existent in terms of how it actually handles. It’s basically the same machine, just with a different cooling layout because of the engine architecture. When you look at the actual driving characteristics, I really don't think there's such a massive leap. That said, the gap between what Alonso was driving with Renault and what Carlos Sainz or Lando Norris are driving with Renault is starting to widen a bit. To be frank, they made the move of the year by taking Alonso out of the chassis development loop instead of having him constantly barking orders. 😉The less Alonso is involved in the technical development, the better off they'll be.

It's the same story over at Red Bull Racing. They had to overhaul their entire cooling system within a two-month window, and I'm telling you, there's no way it's been perfected. This is definitely a trial-by-fire season for them. There is absolutely zero chance you can completely redesign the cooling package and the entire car concept to an elite level... especially in just two months. xD There's no theoretical way to pull that off; engineering like that takes time, not a sixty-day sprint.
F1 Montreal GP: June 7-9, 2019 in Formula 1 ·
Sure, that’s true, but it doesn't change the reality that they still have to fix the mess left behind by Alonso's chassis design. XD
F1 Montreal GP: June 7-9, 2019 in Formula 1 ·
It’s hard to say exactly how much progress they'll make, but if they really start throwing serious money into development, they definitely have a shot. 😉 Everything really hinges on how that Renault engine integrates with the rest of the car compared to the competition. Honestly, I don't see them fixing the issues with the chassis anytime soon—just like how it took Red Bull Racing a good couple of seasons to get things sorted once they moved away from Honda. It's going to take at least two years before they're even remotely close to being competitive. 😉 On the flip side, I actually think Renault has more raw potential right now than McLaren Racing does. 😉 They've got Ricco on their side, and they aren't stuck dealing with Alonso's chassis design. xD

crimsonhawk23 said:You’re certainly persistent, 🤣

To be honest, I really doubt Sainz and Norris can make up for a 35-horsepower deficit just on pure talent. You can see they're struggling even at Red Bull with Newey behind them; there's no way two relatively inexperienced drivers are going to pull it off at McLaren.
F1 Montreal GP: June 7-9, 2019 in Formula 1 ·
Richard Walker38 said:So McLaren is nothing? Even if they're still trailing them in the points standings, they've been on a serious upward trajectory all season.

Look, they just had Fernando Alonso in the seat until very recently, and now they're stuck with two rookies... honestly, I don't see them becoming anything significant for at least three more seasons. That’s assuming Renault actually finds the guts to pour massive amounts of cash into engine development. Until then, I wouldn't hold my breath.
F1 Montreal GP: June 7-9, 2019 in Formula 1 ·
I honestly think if Red Bull Racing could just find a decent replacement for Gasly, they’d be sitting pretty in second place in the championship standings. 😢
F1 Montreal GP: June 7-9, 2019 in Formula 1 ·
Honestly, it feels like Renault is being incredibly stingy when it comes to pouring money into development. They’ve practically admitted that Formula 1 isn't even their top priority compared to the big three teams, so I have my doubts about them ever sniffing around a championship title. I just don't see it happening... especially since they've openly stated their budget is more in line with what Red Bull Racing operates on.
